Pentagenarians & Beyond: W/B 7/02/2023

Today I did Coffey fit new kickboxing workout, 33 minutes, heart rate 143/176, 190 calories, 2,611 steps. I followed this with Michell Briehler low impact 80s workout that I had saved, but only did 6 minutes, 30 calories, heart rate 116/135, 498 steps. I stopped after the moves with ankle weights on. I did not wear ankle weights. They were getting ready to pick up some light weight. It was just not a workout for me today. My right side and back of shoulder was very painful and I am avoiding weight right now. I finished with STS 2 Mat yoga, 22 minutes, 24 calories. Total time was 63 minutes, 244 calories. 3,059 Steps.
Tomorrow will be no workout as I have to go for a chest CT that I scheduled a year ago. It is in the morning.
Lots of rain this morning.

Valerie, nice job on getting a ride in today. It will be nice for you when all of the parts are replaced on your bike and upgraded. That is a nice present. I think there are laws about fireworks in the city pther than displays. But, people go out and buy them and take them home and no one really does anything. We always watched displays from our yard at one time, or at someone's home or place where legal. My son is out on a large piece of land and does his as well as my daughter. But, they are not in the city. I heard a few pops this morning and figured some kids probably had some still. Last year I think one of the police officers in our neighborhood went out to his police car and turned on the siren and it sure got quiet quickly. It was after midnight that time.

Carolyn, I think so much tubing work is what has my back and neck hurting. Along with the chest stuff with the tubing that seemed to hit the back of my shoulders and traps. I hate shrugs and dips for this reason. I think I should do no more than 1 round of some of those or do the no repeats. Nice work today on STS 2 back.

Cathy, nice work with Kickbox Express and STS 2 Chair Yoga. I think my 82 pound dog would have liked to get in my lap. She is not allowed on the furniture, so she sat up against my legs or kept her head on my lap. Then she went behind my chair in the corner. I kept trying to soothe her, but it was not helping. I will try to remember to give her something to maybe relax her a bit next year.

Judy, nice work this week with back and triceps workout at the gym, yesterday's Peloton ride, and today's STS 2 legs premix express.

Just finished STS 2 Lower Body 1. I adapt a lot of the moves in this one, but it keeps my weights higher. Today is packing and prepping food. Derek and I leave just after lunch tomorrow to drive down to Columbus. Staying at a Candlewick Suites both nights so we'll have a kitchen, but I'm going to make my stuff beforehand, so I'll mainly need the fridge/microwave. Derek will take care of his own food. Then Sunday morning we'll drive into Cincinnati to the zoo, and Monday will go to the Columbus Zoo and drive home. I HATE driving into Cincinnati, so going down Saturday and to the zoo on Sunday means avoiding weekday traffic and going to and from Columbus means we can avoid I-75. While I greatly like the fact that the Columbus Zoo is outside of Columbus, the Cincinnati Zoo is very much in the city, so lots of city streets and traffic lights, no matter which way you go to get to it.

Had an appointment with the oral surgeon yesterday to get the results of the biopsy on the floor of my mouth. As my sister said, it could have been a phone call. It's just what they call an amalgam tattoo. Basically where an old filling leaked into the tissue. And the tooth beside it has had a crown for a long time, so a filling would have been long ago. He did look at it, but that could have been skipped to, since the area never bothered me at all.

Valerie great that you got a ride in. I hope the updates to your bike are a big help to you. This round of fires, the smoke isn't impacted us. Hoping it stays that way, but your're right, this will likely become our new normal every summer.

Carolyn nice job with STS 2.0 Body Parts Back.

Diane Sue great job with the kickboxing workout and STS 2 Mat Yoga.I hope your appointment goes smoothly today.

This morning I did Body Parts Chest. My time was 47 minutes and 146 calories burned. My average heart rate was 106 and maximum heart rate was 158.

Diane Sue, good job with Coffeyfit Kickboxing, Low Impact 80s cardio, and Mat Yoga. I thought about your neck pain and the tubing work. I wonder if using the wall anchors make the tubing exercises more difficult. I don’t have wall anchors so I’m doing the other options with the tubing. I hope that you feel better soon.

Cathy, good job with Lower Body 1. I hope that you enjoy your trip to the Columbus and Cincinnati zoos.

Hello to Judy and Valerie.

This Morning I did Mobility 1 early since I had my club meeting today. Well things got interesting just before the meeting time. The carbon monoxide detectors went off! There are 7 of them, wireless and all connected. They have a voice warning as well as the loud beeping. These were installed as a part of the electrical work that we had done in March. Of course we had to go outside and wait for the fire department. We had the fire department, the gas company, and the electrician here. After a very thorough check the gas company determined that we did not have a leak and the problem was the new wireless monitors. As an aside we kept the plug-in monitor that we already had and it was registering 0. It took all morning to get it all sorted out! I was exhausted from the stress of the entire situation and I never made my meeting. Now I am trying to relax.

Hello to everyone and I hope that you are having a better day than mine!

Today I did CDorner Cardio Dance Low Impact 41 minutes 223 calories. heart rate 137/166, 4050 steps. I followed this with STS 2 mat yoga, 25 minutes 38 calories, 67 steps.
Total time was 66 minutes, 261 calories. I am feeling better today. Tomorrow will be another day off. I will see how it goes as next week would start with biceps and then triceps. Then I would start parts over with legs.
No workout yesterday. It was raining so hard I almost cancelled, but really wanted to get this appointment done. There were flood advisories. I will probably get the results sometime next week.

Cathy, that is a lot of planning. I hope you have a good time and safe trip. I often wonder why they make us go in for things like that when they could have called with results. Particularly if there is nothing they could not have just phoned with. I was kind of glad that my doctor moved from the heart hospital because before she left I had to go one day to get the CT and go back for them to go over the results with me. Now they just call.

Carolyn, nice work yesterday getting in Body Parts Chest. I am sorry that you had so much chaos with the detectors going off. I am glad that there was no gas leak. I bet it did take you a while to relax after all of that. Nice work getting in the mobility workout.

we did a walk in a state park this morning for an hour and 15 minutes. some bigger hills so not flat. my back bothers me every single step. I wish this process could get speeded up. Im lucky riding is still helpful in decreasing discomfort.

carolyn too much chaos! good that nothing was really wrong. cathy hope all the planning and traveling is working out well. another bike delay for me, now waiting for another part that was incompatible. goodf news the biopsy was a big nothingburger. I got my bike back to ride until the part arrives. diane sue we have such long wait times here for follow up appts that canceling something would feel like forever. best go in and get it covered.

Saturday morning I did Upper Body 2. Had an uneventful drive down to Columbus. Today we went down to Cincinnati to the zoo. It was very busy, but that's the trade off for being able to drive in on Sunday morning. High was only around 80 which was nice, plus it's quite wooded, so plenty of shade an a breeze at times. Most times we've been down there it's been 90-100. I did get in 15,000 steps. Tomorrow will be a long day since Columbus is a bigger zoo and we'll be driving home afterwards.

Carolyn nice job with Body Parts Chest and Mobility 1. I'm so sorry you had to deal with the carbon monoxide detectors going off messed up your meeting.

Valerie I'm glad you were able to get a hike in, but really sorry to hear how much your back bothered you.

Diane Sue great job with Cardio Dance Low Impact and STS 2 Mat Yoga.
