Good morning all,

Today I did X-train Chest, Back & Shoulders.

Saw a great play yesterday, "I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change"...a musical and very funny.

Lori, I was breathless just reading your post on what you did by 10:00 am yesterday! :D

Valerie, yes, post some links so we can pick out the best outfit for you....I hate picking outfits for myself, but don't mind looking at what others are thinking.

Judy, I had those tests done on one of my past dogs as well. You need to do whatever it takes to make them healthy and comfortable! :). LawnMax would have done me in! ;)

Garance, how was Jacob's Pillow?

I have a family GTG this afternoon, have to make a veggie pizza appetizer to bring. Otherwise, plenty of HouseMax to do....

Hope everone is having a good weekend.

Hi Deb and any later posters--

This morning I did STS disk 28 for chest and back (65 min.).

Dance Theatre of Harlem was wonderful yesterday. They had a very varied program, including a piece by Balanchine (Agon), the black swan pas de deux which is a real tour de force, a famous piece originally for Judith Jamieson by Ailey, and then, after intermission, two more contemporary pieces to music by James Brown and Aretha Franklin. Gorgeous afternoon as well. DH and I went out to the Rattlesnake Café and I had my favorite--a shrimp quesadilla--and brought half home as I always do.

HHH here today and I guess we are into a spell of this.

Lori, I think I might try holding very heavy dumbbells instead of hoisting a heavy barbell over my head, which seems to have a bad effect on the inside of my shoulders. I wore dress shields too and for a long time because I would be nervous in lecturing. But very strangely, in my 50s I just seemed to stop the underarm perspiration altogether. I hope your trip goes well and it isn't too sad for you.

Funny title for a play, Deb!

Judy, I like core 1 as well, but I also think I get a lot of ab work on Pure Spice because of all the belly contractions while you dance.

Yes, Valerie, let's see what you're thinking of wearing for the wedding.

Hope I did these links right.
I ordered 4 intending to keep one depending on size, fit etc. I need some strappy sandals, flat or wedge heel at the most. like a Keen or a Chaco. I do not want to wear panty hose. I'll buy a light weight sweater/shrug to go over the dress depending, since it cools off quickly at night there.
I ordered a sleeveless one but prefer a bit of a sleeve. DH thinks I look too big shouldered in sleeveless, and these dresses allow a regular bra. a lot of dresses have built in support, but that's not adequate. some of these dresses come in several colors, and prints rather than solids. I need to start somewhere. also, I'm about 5'2.5 so petites probably, though I used to have issues with petites not having enough shoulder room. we'll see. I thought about a maxi dress but will be way too long and I'm not sure of all that fabric. don't want to get into extensive alterations.
tell me what you think.

thanks Deb. Mostly, it depends on if I look reasonably good in any of them. Not sure on sizing since I'm thinner than last time I ordered anything. everything looks good on models.... since the bust line is the only fitted part of most dresses, it depends a lot on that being "right".
I have some black pants and a couple tops I usually wear to weddings and funerals but this is an afternoon ceremony and it will be warm at least during the day. black seemed too wintery.

Good morning and Happy Monday (yeah right),

Today I did a Cardio Coach and Burn Sets Tri's.

A nice weekend, it got into the 90's yesterday...HOT HOT HOT!
Not much going on here....work, then dog class. so a late night...

Take care,

Good Morning,

It got into the 90's here yesterday too. DH and I went for a mountain bike ride in the morning. Then later in the day I walked for 30 minutes.

Hope everyone has a great week!

Judy

Good morning ladies,

Long ride yesterday. Took 7 1/2 hours. Tons of traffic, rain and a couple of accidents. Made it here safe and sound.

Yesterday I did plyo legs and walked Chester before I left. This morning I was able to get in Travel Fit. First time I did this on and boy it gets the arms good!

Loved that we got to look at your dresses Valerie. I am with Irongrl and vote 1 and 4. Let us know what you end up with!

Garance...sounds like it was a great time.

Funny about the dress shields. Thought I was the only one. Do they even still make these????

Have a great day. Will try and check in later.

I'll try and check in later.

Have a great day all.

Hi Deb, Josie, Valerie, Lori, and Judy--

This morning I did Pure Spice (57 min.).

Very hot here as well. After cooking up a storm last night, I was too hot to take Max for a walk. He didn't seem to mind, though.

Valerie, I wish I could give you my opinion, but for some reason I just get a swirling dots when I click on your links. I even tried to go to the Athleta site to look at dresses. Que sera, sera!

So tomorrow I'm going to try using dumbbells instead of a barbell for the squats and lunges in STS. I think I can hold two 25s plus my vest rather than trying to swing a heavy barbell over my head.

Did anyone see the perigee moon last night? Wow!

Enjoy the summery week everyone--it goes fast!

Of course I want your opinion... the more the merrier. if you go to Gap.com the dresses have names. Leighani, Dhara, Wisteria, Nectar. some come in solids and prints. not all come in petites. so I ordered a mixture mostly to get a fit/size and with any luck one will work. but I need a baseline to work forward from and I've had some nice things from this company before.
there are lots more dresses but I don't want too open/sleeveless because of the bra issue, and didn't order any maxi length. I hope one of these works because I hate shopping so much!.

wanted to see the moon but it was totally socked in cloudy last night besides which our jerk off neighbors did a burn pile all weekend making the air unbreathable. one day I will catch them doing something illegal and maybe get them a big fine.

the day I'd be able to bring home half a quesadilla is the day I weight 110 lbs..... wish I could do that!.

ETA this is weird... I know I typed in Athleta but it came out as Gap. I know the companies are connected but this is so strange not to see what I know I typed.

thank you for your opinions. I know pics are just an "idea" and it's really the fit on me that will make or break it. It seems like wedding clothes are so much more casual than they used to be and I am feeling a little uncertain. I am not wearing heels though, and no panty hose. if this doesn't work, then it's off to local stores.

Hi ladies!

Garance...I did see the moon. Had completely forgot about it but someone remembered then next thing you know we were all out there looking at this big beautiful bright moon!

I think using the dumbbells is a smart move. Most of the time this is exactly what I do.

Lori

Hi Ladies,

I did the Plyo DVD yesterday. I could not see the moon because it was overacted all day.
Today’s wo is cardio power resistance. I have been invited to lunch everyday this week ;)
I know that I will need to watch what I eat otherwise I will be 20 pound heavier by Friday.

Valerie, I like #1 and 4 also.

I will be back later.

Josie

Good morning,

I Did a premix from STS Total Body this morning...whew Cathe is a killer for sure..

Judy, you were up early and posting yesterday!

Lori, glad you made it there safely. Travel Fit gets you good, I got great DOMS from it. It was perfecet for a hotel room using the iPad. My Mom used to use dress shields...wow...blast from the past.

Garance, got your check..thanks....I think using DB's is a smart way to go. doesn't the vest we bought go to 20 pounds? or is it just 10? I did not see the moon, actually forgot to look....was not happy when I remembered yesterday..

Valerie, it looks like #4 got votes from everyone...spooky on the typing thing...what else are they monitoring and changing?

Josie, how many more days?

Work, and no committment tonight...Yay....take care!

Hi Everyone,

Yesterday I did Core Max-Total Core in the morning. My right knee was bothering me a little so I didn't do any other training. This morning I will be doing an upper body workout before work. Looks like we are going to get thunderstorms all day today :(

Deb-Cathe is definitely a killer! Her workouts are awesome! I was looking at one of her rotations, "Rock Bottoms", that one is insane! I printed it out, but I won't even attempt something like that until I've gone through STS.

Lori-I just ordered Travel Fit, it sounds like a good one to have.

Valerie-I think you will look great in any of those dresses!

Hi to Josie & Lynda!

Judy

did the other half of burnsets Monday. somehow the two parts seem too much to do in one workout. yoga this morning. DH and I intended to do a ride yesterday but it rained on and off all day and we never got going to actually do it. did a load of yard work instead. some kind of weight/cardio combo today.

I liked #1 and #4 the best too. I've been surprised more than once so decided to try the other two also. I haven't tried on a dress in ages and I'm unsure of the sizing, what size I am, petite vas regular, etc. this gives me a good mix. Last time I tried on dresses must be 10 years ago and I found absolutely nothing that fit at all. I ended up with pants and several tops that have worked out well. I'm not doing this at the last minute (wedding is mid September) so I will have better idea of what will work even if these don't flatter.
yes Josie, the hazards of dining out! You must be getting excited, getting down to the wire!

Athleta and the Gap are sister companies or something like that, but I know what I typed and reading my own post I thought, where did that come from?

Hi Deb, Josie, Valerie, Lori, and Judy--

This morning I did STS disk 38 for legs (63 min.). I used 25 lb dumbbells and a 56 lb. barbell for the deadlifts and wore my vest. I guess I should weigh it. It's the same as Cathe's vest.

Deb, I received the essential-C today. I sold my STS total body. I thought it was ridiculous to drag out the tower and bench for so few exercises and never used the workout because it was so much equipment.

Did my civic duty voting in the special election to replace Kerry here in MA. I don't know why I bother when no one gets anything done in Washington anyway.

Valerie, I don't really understand why, but I don't get anything at the Gap/Athleta site but a lot of swirling dots. Sounds like everyone favored #4.

Josie, the same thing happened to me last year. Everyone wanted to take me out for lunch. I really enjoyed a couple of the big dinners, though.

Lori, I guess we lucked out with the moon. I was really stunned by it. DH is not happy, though, because he loads chickens in the middle of the night tomorrow, and it's best if it's really dark. Too much moonlight gets those chickens worked up.

Judy, you will probably like Travel Fit. I think it's one of Cathe's easiest workouts--but effective.

Hi Deb, Lori, Valerie, Josie & Lynda,

Not too much going on here today, it's been raining on and off all evening and is supposed to do the same tomorrow.

I ended up doing a double today. I did a Spinerval cycling workout in the morning and I did Xtrain Bi's & Tri's with Core 2 after work. I was able to go up in some of my weights too. I am kind of wiped out, but glad I got the second workout in.

I just saw a post and video about Cathe's new workouts on Facebook. Have any of you pre-ordered? I'm thinking about getting Pedal Power.

Good night,

Judy

Good morning,

A nice Cardio Coach this morning, almost talked myself out of it when the alarm went off but glad now that I didn't.

Judy, did you get those thunder storms? If you did, then we probably will get them today, it seems like we get Michigan weather the day after you do. As for Cathe rotations, I don't think I have ever, actually I know that I have never done one....they are too much for me to commit to each day. Travel Fit is great...I just remember the DOMS I got the last time I did it......probably because it's so different using the band for everything. Such a great "travel" workout. I pre-ordered the new workouts, I think I am selling the spin one to Josie...and probably sell off the others that I don't like, I have the step one promised to another friend..

Valerie, so are the dresses on their way to you?

Lori, hope all is going well ..have a safe trip back.

Garance, I agree on the amount of equipment in STS Total Body...I have this old step bench that is leaning against the wall and I can pull it out in a couple of seconds...if there is not a lot of bench stuff, I usually use that. I cannot load the BB up too much though in those cases.

Josie, enjoy those lunches!
Take care,

Good morning ladies,

Heading back home today. Leaving at about 10 and hoping this will allow me to beat the rush hour traffic this evening. Going to try and do travel fit in a few minutes since everyone is still sleeping.

I have STS total body but have not done this yet. When previewing it a while back I remember thinking about all the equipment used!

There have been some crazy thunderstorms here on and off. This morning is nice so keeping my fingers crossed that it is they way for my entire drive home.

Judy...I have ordered the new workouts along with the downloads. It was so cheap to add the downloads and glad I did since I have been enjoying the workout blender with the few downloads I have.

Have a great day!
