Good morning, or should I say almost afternoon?

Today I did Cardio Coach#4, 50 minutes, 346 calories. A killer.

Worked the dog show yesterday and I have a long list of HouseMax things to do today.

Cathy, it looks like your changes worked. I see a new avatar and maybe 4 grandkids?

Here is a pic of the new puppies, that were 2 weeks old yesterday, there are 5, and these are the 3 girls. They look like little guinea pigs right now. all the black, except for the saddle turns brown.

Hi Deb and any later posters--

This morning I did Sweat Express II again. I really love this one, and as a result I will probably over-use it and get tired of it too quickly.

We spent a lot of time with our friends this weekend. Yesterday was a virtual washout, so we just stayed in talking almost the whole day. DH gave them the "farm tour," which gave me a little time to do some Housemax, but did not do much more than vacuum and dust.

Deb, love the picture of the newborns. Hope they all do well and you will have a good choice from the three.

Hope everyone is having a good weekend. I am off to see Super 8 this afternoon, and then home to make a lemony risotto with shrimp.

Just finished KCM's Conditioning workout, sweating like a hog...( do hogs sweat?).

DH went on a fishing trip, so I am alone until Wednesday evening. I sure hope he does not have one of those episodes while he is out there. I tried to get him to stay home, but you know what that's like. He has been looking forward to this for a long time. Keep your fingers crossed. It's about a 3 hour drive from here.

Nothing much happening here otherwise, weather has been ok, showers off and on.

Take care,

Hi Deb, Josie, Joan, Cathy, and Valerie--

This morning I did the first 57 min. of Booty Barre plus arms and abs. If I had done the whole thing, it would have been 79 min. The final section is abs and stretch. This one is TOUGH! Especially the booty sections and the cardio stuff.

Deb, yeah, I know about stubborn husbands. I hope you won't spend the whole time worrying about him. As a matter of fact, pigs don't sweat, which is why they love mud and shower baths followed by rolling in the mud to cool their tough hides.

Super 8 felt like vintage Spielberg, even though it's by his disciple J.J. Abrams. Really extraordinary performances from teen actors. If any of you go, DON'T LEAVE WHEN THE CREDITS COME UP! Some stupid people in the audience left and did not get to see the wonderful super 8 film the kids were struggling to make in the film.

Cave of Forgotten Dreams by Herzog is coming to our local art cinema, and I cannot wait to see it. It's supposed to be utterly magical.

Feels like fall here--hasn't managed to get into the 60s now for three days.

Good morning,

Garance, I think we are the only ones here this week. Joan is at Disney, Valerie is on a hiking/biking trip, Maybe Josie will check in.

It's raining again here. What is up with this spring/summer? Today I did the upper body split from Split Sessions. Whew. I use 12's then 10's, then 8's for the bicep curls. By the end I am really pushing to keep up. I like these a lot though.

DH called me again last night, he is doing well, having a great time. Regarding those barre workouts, I can't wait to see what Cathe comes up with in the new series.

Question for you: do you use any sunless tanning products? if so, which do you like best? I need some color on my legs, and I have tried so many, none that I like very much, mostly because of the smell.

Anyway, off to get more coffee and get ready for work,

take care,

Hi Ladies,

I'm here! On Sunday I did a boot camp class and yesterday I went spinning. Today, I will probably do another boot camp class.

Deb, I use a product that I get from HSN called Tan Towels. They are great and there is no smell. I also use the NIVEA sun kissed products. I sent you an e-mail with the links to both products.

Garance, thanks for the review on Super 8. I may go see this weekend.

I will be back later.

Josie

Hi Deb and Josie--

This morning I did KCM's TLC, both workouts (60 min.) with 1 lb. gloves.

Deb, no, I don't use any sunless tanning products, although I sure could use some color. I guess I will wait until we get to the Jersey shore in July. It's rainy and chilly here as well. Can barely get up to 60. It is supposed to change tomorrow toward more summery conditions.

Josie, Super 8 is quite good. You could even take your grandchildren if they aren't too young--say 8 or 9 and above. Thanks for the recs on tanning stuff. I might try some stuff on my pale legs.

Good morning,

I didn't feel lke getting up with the alarm rang this morning, so no workout today.

Garance, when do you go to the Jersey shore?

Josie, thanks for the suggestions. Those are 2 that I have not tried. Probably the only two on the market.

Cold here now, but it is "supposed" to warm up today. It's been chilly and in the low 60's.

Off for coffee and to get ready for work.

Take care,

Hi Deb and Josie--

This morning I did both of the Split Sessions by KCM (60 min.).

Deb, it is warming up nicely here today. And the sun is finally out. This year we are on the Jersey shore from 7/9-7/15. Just a week, but it's free. An old family friend has a house one block from the beach and is always delighted to have someone from DH's family take the place for a week. Otherwise it's something like 1500 dollars per week to rent.

Another few thoughts about Super 8. It's set in 1979, so it feels like a completely different world. No cell phones, no VCRs or DVD players, no computers, no games. The kids communicate secretly by walkie-talkies, there are allusions to CB radios. It just felt weird to realize how much the world has changed since then.

I am getting highlights this afternoon. I know--big deal. Hey, I like it quiet and uneventful.

oh deb, could you send your 60's down here. we are roasting!!!!!
huh? i don't see a pic w/my 4, where are ya'll seeing this? i'm not seeing it. I'M SO CONFUSED!

Good morning all,

2 more days until the weekend. I can't wait.

Garance, how great that you have a place like that available, at at no cost. We had a beautiful day here yesterday too.

Cathy, your signature line has a new pic with 4 children, ( your grandkid!) and it now says "nana to 4 gorgeous grandbabies"....you should be able to see it in your past post above this one. strange. Maybe it's your settings in your profile here.

Nothing much going on...we were just offered another puppy from one of the local breeder friends that thought she was going to keep her for show/breeding. She is 6 weeks old. We already committed to the other one. First none, now we are getting asked if we want them...I'll take them all! (not really).

Hi Deb and any later posters--

This morning I did Sweat Express II (57 min.).

Another beautiful day here. Deb, if you took two puppies, you wouldn't have to work out at all!! I'm just saying. You'd be running around like crazy. Yes, it's really nice to have that house for a week during the beach season. It's in Avalon NJ. Gorgeous beaches, and we always spend one night in Cape May at this restaurant called the Mad Batter, which is really, really good.

Cathy, I see a big bloodhound as your avatar, and below, a picture of you with one of your grandkids.

DH is fretting about the weather again. Hay, hay, Hay, hay is all I here!

I'm back again! Wow, great mini vacation with one exception. weather was sunny & pleasant, camping nice and quiet.
Our first mt bike ride was a disaster... a loop trip. we'd checked out both ends of the trip, the whole thing was maybe 12 miles with 6 miles on a hwy to complete the loop. the middle section of trail was overgrown with huge blowdowns and completely un-rideable. we were barely able to climb/fight our way thru the woody brush. the only reason we kept going was it would have been even worse to go back uphill against the brush. we both looked like we'd been thru a war when we finally got down to the rideable section. scratched, bruised, incredibly difficult. We should have asked more before trying it but we'd had good luck with other rides from this book. apparently maintenance has not happened for a couple years except for parts of the trail we'd checked out last year. but everything else went well.

did a hike and several other mt bike rides and all were fun and plenty of work. fun kind of work. we do a bit of birdwatching too and very interesting birds. june is great for birdwatching here. saw owls, grouse, lazuli buntings, osprey, spotted sandpipers, bluebirds, orioles, hummingbirds to mention a few. we keep lists.

Wow, Deb those puppies are darling. they do look like guinea pigs! Yeah, get 2 so you don't need to choose.

Cathy, darling pics of the grandkids & dog. don't know why you have trouble seeing it, we all can.

Josie, I've never seen Tan Towels before. I was thinking I'd read that Cathe uses those? I get kind of reddish brown and all the self tanners are too yellow on me so I can only use a tiny bit. all the ones I've tried smell. Pew.

Hope Joan is enjoying disneyland and that it's not too hot.

Geez, 1979... sounds like a million years ago. amazing how electronic gadgets have changed & taken over so much of our lives. phone booths... where have pay phones gone? It's hard to think of anything that hasn't changed dramatically since then.

Good evening all,

I got back late Tuesday night. About 10 minutes after we got home we got a call that MIL had just died. Wednesday we spent in Il taking care of funeral arrangements. We will go over Friday night and the funeral is Saturday.

Disney was enjoyed by all. I can't imagine going without kids but Elliot loved it. We only were out for 4 hours each morning because she was getting over a cold and not feeling well. The third day dil called doctor and he suggested they see someone in Florida. The Fla. doctor came to the room-for $455.

Florida was cooler than Missouri was. It was only in the 80's. Since we were usually only out in the morning and evening, weather was great. It was only really hot the last 2 days. It was still cooler than Missouri.

Of course I have caught Elliot's cold.

Joan

Good morning,

No workout. 'nuff said.

Joan, sorry to hear about MIL. I don't remember you mentioning she was ill etc. Glad you had good weather for the trip. Isn't that DR charge amazing? We had one come to the resort when DH got sick in Mexico and I think it was around $300. He took his temp and told us to go to the ER. At least he did get us a cab and tell the cab driver where to go.

Valerie, sounds like you had a great trip. What do you see in Cathy's posts? There's a mystery here.

Garance, strange, you are seeing a different thing in Cathy's posts than I am! I see the avatar with the bloodhound, but the pic in her signature line is just 4 little kids, the one with Cathy is gone now. Very strange.

It's almost the weekend YAY!!

In Cathy's posts there is a long eared dog for avatar, and a pic showing 4 grandchildren under it. I don't remember what the problem was.... cathy herself can't see it?

Joan, sorry to hear your MIL passed. this was the woman living at your house, wasn't it? the swollen leg issue among others? I'm surprised you could find a doctor to come to a hotel for any cost....

I went to yoga yesterday morning and took the day off more exercise. my legs are so scratched up I don't know how long before I can shave, and then very carefully. DH looks the same but of course no shaving issue.

My brother takes care of our mother. there's apparently a hoarding problem. I've suspected it for a long time. He keeps acquiring more and more "stuff" and storing it wherever he can. He's quite mechanical and handy so he sees a potential use for everything. He has cars stored all over the place, industrial floor equipment. he has about 5 cats, has another 5 at our mothers. tons of little plastic containers in the kitchen. dozens of vacuum cleaners. just brought home a new dining room table when there is one already. the other issue is he's got health problems himself and I'm getting more concerned about how out of control this might be getting..... and who might end up having to deal with this. I know it's been reported to some gov agency probably by neighbors whose property values are affected. No clue what can be done about it... but I get a headache thinking about it. I know there's a TV show and I don't think it's THAT bad but there is definitely something going awry there.

Hi Deb, Josie, Joan, Cathy, and Valerie--

This morning I did Squeeze (57 min.).

Cathy, I don't see the 4 grandchildren--just the bloodhound avatar and the picture of you with one grandchild. Very strange!

Joan, your mil has been failing for some time now, hasn't she? I vaguely remember you taking Luke to see her when you thought she might not last too much longer. But your mom was doing better the last I remember, and she is the one living with you. Hope my memory is right. Glad you enjoyed Florida. Ugh--Missouri is worse than Florida?

Valerie--sounds like a great trip for you (I would not have liked all the brambles, for sure.). There are so many varieties of hoarding that I think there's a reality show for each of them. There is a whole new category of psychological disorders! Not sure what I would do and don't envy you. Seems like technology has also created some new psych problems as well (e.g., Weiner tweet disease).

Deb, I didn't feel like getting up this morning to work out because I just wanted to doze and listen to the rain. I still say two puppies and you will have Puppymax for awhile.

Going to see Cave of Forgotten Dreams tomorrow and out to dinner, probably Thai.

all i see is the dog picture, and the pic of me and my grandson. i tried to replace it with a pic of my 4 grandkids, but i don't see it. apparantly some people do. i just don't get it.
that is exactly what i mean, deb. i don't see the one either with my 4 grandkids. only the one w/my grandson and that one is 2 yrs. old. this is crazy, why can some see the new pic and some can't?????

Hey all,

Just drinking coffee, waiting to go to class with Mr. K.

DH had a slight dizzy spell last night, did not make him puke or anything. He is starting to think he may be reacting to artificial sweetner, since he drank a bottle of Diet Dr Pepper on the way home from work last night. He did not have even one spell while fishing for 4 days, he said he didn't drink any diet soda while he was there..mmm....there is a name for when you cannot metabolize asperteme ( sp), which I am going to googe as soon as I sign off from here.

Valerie, sorry to hear about your brother's situation with hoarding. It is really a strange disease. I sometimes accuse DH of having it, but I am really kidding when I do, because I have watched the programs and he is nothing like that at all. what happened to your legs sounds awful. Is this place a public one that should be maintained better?

Garance, I can't even imagine having 2 puppies at the same time, let alone with Keegan, who is still really a puppy at heart. Enjoy the Thai, love it!

CAthy, it may be that your computer has an older version of Internet Explorer? Is that what you use to access the internet? If you download the newer version, maybe you will see what we are seeing. It's free and should be on their site to download.

Well, I am off to get ready for class. I will check in later....take care,

well, i still can't see the new picture. glad ya'll can. i can't believe it is so cold up there garance, and as far as hay, we ain't gonna have any. everything is burning up down here with this horrible heat and no rain. where are you again that it is still so cold?

it is quite miserable down here.
