Good morning,

No workout yesterday, just agility class.

Lori, what a great idea to make a window bed for your cat! did you find instructions or a picture of it somewhere? As for the forum, I liked the old version, but I guess I can get used to any changes...

Carolyn, nice workout, I will need to check it out....I forgot about the leg conditioning drills....are they kicking or with weights?

Diane Sue, thanks for the link. When you take these, do you take 3 a day? I read somewhere that you should not take D2 and calcium without K2...have you seen that? where is Turbo Fire from again?

Valerie, yes, that looks like a nice one. I don't quite understand how you make it harder or easier.?

Hi to Judy,

Travelling to Erie, Pa today for an agility trial....wish me luck!

Take care,

Good morning ladies,

I did not workout yesterday since we left early to spend the day with my brother. We bought plants, and then went to the cemetery. We plant on our grandparents and our parents. Takes a while but we enjoy it. We have been doing this every memorial weeknd since my mom past almost 24 years ago. We took over her role. We then had a nice lunch which consisted of Linguica pizza. Yum! We ordered 4 takeout pizzas to take home and freeze! Lol! Can never have too much. :)

I previewed home gym intervals and look forward to do this one today. Going to use the rebounder for the cardio portion.

Diane Sue...thanks for the link to the supplements. I ordered some this morning for my husband. He gets leg cramps at night so hoping these will help. Turbo Fire is a fun program. I hve never done a rotation but have done some of the workouts.

Carolyn...yes I agree...I recognize the benefits of other instructures now more than years ago. I liked Lynda’s rebounder workout and hope she does more. I will have to check out Ellen’s wokouts. She sounds interesting.

Deb...no instructions or pictures. I completely built one thinking how it should looks and using materials I had on hand. She loves it.

Valerie...the rower looks realy nice. You both with enjoy it. It gives you an amazing workout. The wildlife you see is amazing. Not sure how I would feel about being that close to a bear!

Judy...i think I would never get up if I was on a hydromassage bed! Can’t wait to here how it is.

Have a great day all..rainy here today. No plans today other than some errands.

Hi Everyone,

Friday I did KCM Build & Burn Lower Body Tabata and Kickbox/Kettlebell fusion. Yesterday I did a Spinerval and went for a short walk with Chris.
I feel like I need to take a short break from Body Beast and I may start my active rest week today or tomorrow.
We don't have any special plans for the weekend. It's supposed to get into the 90's today and tomorrow. Quite a change from just a few weeks ago.

Deb-Good luck in the agility trial! Hope you have a good trip!

Lori-That cat bed sounds perfect! Cats love to look out windows. That's great that you could build one without instructions! Using the rebounder for Home Gym Intervals sounds like a good plan.

Diane Sue-Thanks for the link to the Rainbow Light supplement. I want to go to Vitamin Shoppe this weekend and I will look for it there. I'm also going to pick this one up:
https://www.vitaminshoppe.com/p/nat...aluronic-acid-plus-msm-60-veggie-caps/nw-7303

Valerie-The rowing machine looks very nice! It will be a great workout.

Hi to Carolyn!

Have a great day!

Judy

I have grandchildren here this morning. We have two birthdays we are celebrating for the 18 yr olds this afternoon at my daughters. They just opened their pool.

Deb, i have read about K2 with calcium. I havevtaken it as a separate supplement before. The human body can convert K1 to K2. Also you can get K2 from grassfed dairy and meats, egg yolks. So I dont think it is completely missing from the diet. I am taking two of the magnesium calcium a day. I take the supplement with food. Turbo Fire is one of Chalean Johnsons workouts. The low impact one was included with Piyo. I have thevoriginal Turbo Fire and the Bonus set. I like this low impact one. She has this one and a longer one in a set, but since I have the 20 minute one I cant see buying the set.

Lori, the planting and pizze sounds nice. What a great family tradition. Enjoy Home agym intervals :)

Judy, thanks for the link to that supplement. I like that itvactually gives the grams etc. On the label. I am going to check for it.

A surprise this morning on sleep. I got 7 hrs 16 min sleep with 2 hrs 3 min sleep ( way more than I have ever gotten) and an hour and 5 min of deep sleep. Wondered if it was the magnesium supplement kicking in and the fresh cherries I are yesterday afternoon. Maybe I was just tired :)

Good morning. no formal workout yesterday but a serious shopping day. It is about 120 miles round trip to Bozeman. we had our list ready, did all in one long trip. a lot of loading and unloading. bought a small barbecue. they are already assembled so getting it in and then out of the camper was a major project, but got it done. food at costco. hardware. it ended up being a weight workout! we turned the refrigerator "on" for food and freezer items to keep them cold while we made other stops. Did not want to leave ice cream bars and fish for hours. this way we could do things in driving order that made sense.
Deb I found the Kind bars that you said you liked. good luck at agility today. maybe I've looked in the wrong place. this store has boxed "granola bars" together in a regular aisle, while bars sold individually are in the pharmacy section. the other stores I use have all bars shelved together. This will be my regular store when here so gradually finding everything we need.
we are working on the exercise room this morning. right now TV, DVD, sound bar are on a box. we made a simple bookshelf to hold them. did not need anything fancy but gives shelves to get things off the floor. The rower makes this pleasant soft sloshing sound and the water jug provides resistance. you add more water to make it harder. the water stays in the jug so it needs to be "good" water so it doesn't grow algae etc over time. we will see how our well water plus Brita filter works.

Lori our kitties all loved to sit in the window or in front of the sliding door in the sun. Hope your kitty appreciates her new bed. Is that a brand of pizza or particular toppings? I could eat pizza every day forever. my favorite food. I love it.

Not to beat the chair issue to death, but as I sit here typing I'm sitting on a small desk chair that has about 4 folded bath towels on the seat to raise me up enough to reach the keyboard. the only way it will work.

Hello Ladies,
I am not working out today. I decided to take another rest day. I had actually planned to do yoga today, but I got caught up in a small project and didn’t get to it. We don’t have any special plans for the weekend, but we are grilling outside if the weather holds out.

Deb, I hope that you have a good day at the agility trials. The Kick Max leg conditioning doesn’t use weights, just a chair for support/balance.

Valerie, I looked up that water rower out of curiosity. It seems like a good workout. It’s great that you were able to get so much done yesterday.

Judy, good workouts for Friday and Saturday. I haven’t decided what I will do next week, but I’m planning for low intensity activities. I just need to choose the workouts.

Diane Sue, enjoy your family day and birthday celebrations. I’ve never done any of the Turbo Fire workouts. I could never get interested in them.

Lori, it sounds like a very nice day with your brother. That’s a lovely tradition to have for remembering your parents.

First water rower workout. It is pretty relaxed.... not like spinning for sure, but that's OK. I did 30 min, about 5 miles at a reasonable speed. I am being careful with my shoulder. it seemed fine. IMO this wont be an intense workout for us. nothing wrong with that. maybe I worked harder than I thought? DH has much longer arms and torso and got higher numbers but he could not see what the difference was, except arm/torso length. my legs are longer than his, but torso and arms much shorter so maybe that tweaks the numbers.
probably works your core, legs, arms shoulders and back but just not as difficult as I expected. You could watch TV or a movie while doing it because it is quiet, and you are facing forward and my heart rate was not high. I don't have a monitor here but I'm guessing 105. you can add more water to make it harder. will do this a few more times before that. we are mt biking tomorrow so that will be intense. I can't do that every day. rower is absolutely no impact . machine is nice and smooth and the water sloshing is nice to listen to.

Today was a non workout day. Church, birthdays, took granddaughter home so she could stay and swim longer, now catching up laundry. I am dreading guessing exactly how to enter what I ate today at the party into mfp. Sometimes it is a guessing game. Not a day for healthy eating for sure.

Valerie, that sounds like quite the shopping trip. I am sure finding the right places to shop and get what you want will soon leave you feeling fairly settled and comfortable there. The rower sounds nice. I would think the water sloshing would be kind of nice to listen to.

Carolyn, I loved the Turbo Fire workouts for awhile. Funny thing is I purchased the bonus extra workouts first, loved them and ordered the rest. Then they started seeming fairly repetitive on the moves. I do have my favorites though as some have music that I really like. The low impact seems a lot like the others except cutting off the impact. Chalean does this crazy thing with the knees turning in and out and toe heel stuff and I do not twist my knees like that. It is too fast and I notice that a lot of the rest of the exercisers are not doing it. I took the day off today and did not get the foam rolling in yesterday as my granddaughter 19 came over and I made breakfast before her and my husband went to look at cars. So, between that and the young ones coming later, I just did not fit it in. My hip/ low back was a bit achy and knee on the opposite side were hurting some today and last night. Hopefully I do better tomorrow.

Good morning,

Yesterday I did KCM's Meltdown, wk#1. 29 minutes, 115 calories. Kylee qualified in one of the events yesterday and got her title! It was a long day.

Lori, your day with your brother sounds so nice. It's great that you have kept up this tradition for all these years.

Judy, nice to have a break sometimes. What will you do for your active rest week? Thanks for the link. I have never seen that type of supplement.

Diane Sue, That's great about you getting that amount of sleep! I wonder if the cherries helped? this is what I was taking. https://shop.mercola.com/product/2389/1/calcium-with-vitamins-d3-k2-30-per-bottle-30-day-supply I like his products, and what goes into them. I have to be careful with vitamin K as it has clotting tendencies, and I have a clotting syndrome. It sound like a rest day was a good idea for you too.

Valerie, wow, 120 miles to go grocery shopping! I sometimes dread going 2 miles to the store. Great that you found the Kind bars. It sounds like you can get a good workout from that rower.

Carolyn, here's to nice weather and grilling outside! :).

Take care,

Deb I didn’t phrase that right. The big grocery (Albertsons) store is 30 miles , so 60 round trip. we did Home Depot for barbecue and some hardware, , Costco and a farm equipment store too and those are in bozeman, then grocery on our way home. It’s all uncongested driving so not bad but we plan ahead so we don’t forget the little things. There are smaller grocery and hardware stores closer so this was not a regular trip.
Congrats on Kylee winning.

I did not get sore from the rower. it wasn't hard to use but I thought the different motion might cause some aches and pains, but fine this morning. we will go mt bike somewhere nearby.

Deb, that is great that Kylee qualified and got her title. I will check that link. I have a mercola joint supplement in my check and compare list. I believe it was price and not giving all of the nutrition facts that held me back. They usually have good reviews on their products. I dont know about the cherries. I ate a bowl of them yesterday evening and did not sleep well last night. I was hoping. I remember that you have to watch the K. I get some with my Amazing grass powders and that was one of your concerns.

Good Morning Everyone,

Yesterday we cleaned out the garage and painted the walls. We did some reorganizing and we were able to get rid of a few things we didn't need.
The weather has been very nice so far this weekend. We plan on grilling outside later today.

Deb-That's great that Kylee qualified! I bet it was a long day. For my active rest week I would plan on doing Yin Yoga, riding the recumbent bike at the gym (my heart rate stays very low on that bike), maybe a couple of the easier Jessica Smith or Leslie Sansone walks, and a couple of days of total rest with no workout. The weather is so nice that I think I want to get some outdoor training in today and tomorrow so I may postpone the rest week a couple more days. I definitely need a break from heavier weights so it will be at least a week before I go back to that.

Carolyn-That's good that you took another rest day. This was a good weekend for projects.

Diane Sue-That's great that you are getting more sleep! I've never gotten that much deep sleep! I think the most I've ever seen is an hour.

Lori-I'll probably try out the hydromassage bed on Wednesday or Thursday. That will be the perfect addition to my active rest week.

Hi to Valerie!

Judy

This morning I did Kelly Coffey Body Design all segments skipping stronger leaner lower, 80 minutes, 441 calories, met 5.0, 4,146 steps.
Weights for cardio sculpting were 3 and 5# and the same for weighted kickboxing.
Weights for Upper body strength
all exercises 10 reps 3 sets single arm
1 arm rows 25# db
1 arm lateral raise from behind 8# db
1 arm boxer pledge 15#
dips 1 arm
bench press 1 arm 15#

Judy, generally the most deep sleep I get is anywhere fro 15 minutes to a rare 1 hour. Your active recovery sounds good. I thought about grilling a steak or pork loin, but plans are kind of unsure today. I think my husband may be at our daughter's helping rebuild a brick mailbox that the trash truck ran into. They cannot get anything out of the city and have called multiple times.

This morning I did Fit Tower Advanced Bootcamp for 51 minutes and 287 calories burned. Average heart rate was 120 and maximum heart rate was 152. I have been wearing a compression sleeve for my knee during workouts which I think helps. This is an old one that my husband had around the house but I just ordered one from Amazon that is a different fabric. We have rain today and most of the week so there will be no outdoor activities for us.

Deb, congratulations on Kylee getting her title. Good job on the KCM workout.

Judy, your plan for the active rest week sounds like a good one. I read once that rest week doesn’t mean that you don’t do anything at all, but instead lighter activities. If I have too many days of no activity I tend to lose my motivation so I try to plan my rest days.

Hello to Diane Sue, Valerie, and Lori.

Good afternoon ladies,

Yesterday I did Home Gym interval 1. I also did a few SB’s targets that concentrated on glutes and hamstrings. Today was Home Gym Interval 2. I think I liked 2 better than 1 only because you use 2 weights most of the time. I kept it at 12 lbs which is what she was using. Next time going to increase weights on some of the intervals while keeping the same on others. I wanted to finish off my arms so I did BodyBarre’s Arm, Shoulders and Back workout. This really finished my arms. She uses 3lbs and I used 5 through out other then with the ball at forearms. I posted the video below so you know what I mean. This is a quick, great hi rep workout if you just want a little more. I finished today with an SB advanced bounce interval. Todays workout was 66 mins / 448 cal. I did not have my watch on for yesterdays but time was 75 mins.

Here is the BodyBarre arm workout from this morning.

For Diane Sue and Carolyn...not sure if you saw these two posted over on VF. They look pretty good and I plan to try them out later this week.

Deb....yeah Kylee!!! Congrats!!!!

Valerie...when you have to travel that far for shopping I bet you have a very detailed list. And which store to hit first and so on! I have never used. Rower with the water but the one I did was a great total body workout. I think it will add a great addition to your routines.

Judy...after Body Beast I can see why you would want an active recovery week. I bet your garage looks great!

Diane Sue...I felt that way too about TurboFire. Fun but felt the same. I too have a couple of favorites. Been years since I have done one. I loved her in Chalean Extreme. I bet your day with the family was fun.

Carolyn...thinking the compression sleeve should help. Good you ordered a newer one. My husband uses one on his knee when he works out and thinks it makes a difference.

Cool today but no rain. Just overcast. We are gilling in a bit then watching a movie in our screened in patio.

Have a great day all!

We did a mt bike this morning, some serious uphill. altitude is still a factor. about 7 miles total. took about 3 hours. dh picked up two ticks but saw them immediately. that time of year! can't be too careful. very nice ride. this time of year we can ride right from our house. no traffic allowed on this road until mid june. it is a very rough steep road much of the way, and then turns into a single track.

Lori, yes, written lists!. and check items off as you go. nothing more frustrating than driving all that way and realizing when you get home you forgot something important.

There are stores closer, a small store about 6 miles away. that is fine for a bag of lettuce or quart of milk. we needed a big box store for stuff, and Costco so worth the drive.

Carolyn, I pulled out Fit Tower Bootcamp this morning and thought I was going to do the bootcamp cardio from KCM Body Design and then the FT workout, but once I started Body Design, I just kept going :) Nice work.

Lori, thanks for posting those rebounding workouts. I saved them for later on You Tube. I like the 2nd workout on the Home Gym Intervals the best too. I use mostly 15's and drop to 12 for certain moves with that workout normally. Yes, the day was fun. My granddaughter got the wedding pictures in and her husband pulled them up on so we could all sit and look at them on their tv screen. We did this and then started dinner and birthday festivities. Their pictures came out beautiful. :)

Valerie, that is nice that you don't have to worry about traffic on that road this time of year. Does it get heavy traffic any time. People ride bikes where my daughter lives and I would be afraid to ride there. Too many people think that they are in the country and just fly over those hills. It is a lot of hilly roads with lots of trees.

This is a very rough gravel road. you should have a high clearance AWD/ 4WD vehicle especially if it's wet. we took our Subaru up there last summer. a few cars during hunting season but it's a road where max speed in a vehicle might be 10 or 15 mph. much slower in washed out sections. a bike doesn't need the entire road width to be intact so easier except that it's steep and lots of loose rock and sand. I don't think ever a lot of traffic. road is closed for wildlife management area half the year.

Good morning,

Yesterday I did Low Impact Sweat, wk #1..28 miutes, 133 calories. I am perplexed at my recent calorie burn numbers. They seem so low compared to what they were in the past. I feel like I am putting out the same amount of effort, but hardly burning any calories. 30 minutes of cardio used to be close to 200 calories for me....strange.

Valerie, that's sounds a little better, mileage wise for groceries. A friend, I knew while working lived in Sweet Grass Montana, and had to drive over 100 miles each way for groceries, ( besides bread and milk) and they went about every 3 weeks, making sure they stocked up on everything. Good that your husband got those ticks off!

Judy, that sounds like a perfect rest week! We had great weather here this weekend as well. We didn't; get the rain and thunder storms they predicted. It must feel so good getting things organized, painted etc. Something we should do.

Diane Sue, I get all the dog's supplements from Mercola Pets. I need to look at Body Design again. Forgot to ask before, are you anywhere near that restaurant where a patron shot a person that was shooting in the restaurant?

Carolyn, good that the compression sleeve helps. There are a lot of people that wear those while running in agility..

Lori, thanks for the links....I watched the arm one, will try to add it to an upper body day.

Take care,
