Pentagenarians & Beyond: W/B 4/5

Today I did Kelly Coffey Cardio Pump using the Raw channel and stopping at the end of the kickboxing portion, 32 minutes, heart rate 133/160, 170 calories, 3027 steps. I then did Cathe Lite Cardio Party timesaver 3 hi/lo, 34 minutes, heart rate 119/144, 113 calories, 2,46 steps. I also went to the Fitbit discover and did A popsugar standing abs 10 minutesm 27 calories, heart rate 102/121, 155 steps, and used an 8 and 10# dumbbell, finished with Fit Bit using discover and did Stand Tall yoga 20 minutes, 55 calories, heart rate 87/104. Fit Bit app set it at 55 calories when I pushed log workout upon finishing. I was curious as yesterday I noticed I got more calories through the app for the yoga than my watch, My watch said 27 calories. This yoga had 110 calories listed on the description. Total time was 86 minutes, 365 calories, 5,284 steps.

I looked up and read there was an update on the taurine in dog food and it is not always a problem. They seem unsure as sometimes the dogs are low in taurine and sometimes it may be the ingredients in the food like the lentils and chickpeas and other times it is probably something else. Also it is unsafe to supplement a dog with taurine unless the vet suggests it. I have avoided dog foods that had lentils and chickpeas and that sort of thing on the ingredients because those cause humans some distress quite often and I could see it causing a dog digestive issues and probably flatulence. So, I am still researching. I told my husband when he was playing with her and her toy and making her get some exercise that I think she looks like she may have lost a little of her body fat. Maybe the food has helped with that. I went back to adding some pumpkin to it. She seems okay now, but I am researching. I saw a list of several foods that were the best on ingredients and odd that the Science Diet and Royal Caanan that the vet sells were not on that list. There was descriptions of what made the foods a good option. Also, they said a lot of it is what they called exotic food ingredients that newer formulas are selling.
I went outside and swept yesterday only to get up this morning and all of these seed pods were everywhere. I swept up our walkway and down to the back of the house and they were still floating down as I cleaned them up. I finally gave up. Wiped down Gerties paws as this stuff all tracks in. My husband told me to order the leaf blower/vacuum we have in our Amazon cart. It would probably be faster and better for my allergies than picking up and sweeping. I still have leaves in back that need cleaned up. Tree pollen is an extremely high 11 scale today. I rarely see it that high. We were going to go out on the motorcycle to get out, but my husband decided to go in the car since the pollen would have been terrible for me.
I kind of wonder how many people are actually getting tested for the virus. A woman on our Nextdoor neighbor posted that she has only been out of the house for store trips two times, wore a mask and other than that walks outdoors and she "talked" to her doctor since she is sick and he says he is pretty sure she has the virus. Now my thought was, does he report it as a case without testing?? I just wonder quite often how accurate numbers are. Particularly if people do phone doctor consults. Do they just tell them to stay home unless they get really so sick they need to go to a hospital or emergency care?

Judy, glad your husband's appointment was cancelled. Kelly said something on her check in in answer to someone and getting on her raw channel and checking into it. I forgot what the name she gave of who handles her channel. Today I pulled it up and the fire tv went to sleep while I was looking up something on the laptop and when I came back it said it could not load. I retired and it loaded and I was up and running. I still need to check in on the facebook group today.

Valerie, we pay for a 55 dollar a month package of Hulu. We dropped Directv now because they raised their price for the same type of package to 60 dollars a month. My husband does not like the format of Hulu as well as the other though. I think we have some nice days coming this week.

Carolyn, for grains(as tolerated) buckwheat, quinoa, and wild rice. Legumes (as tolerated) lentils and pinto beans. Some people can handle these foods in small amounts and some cannot. I am finishing off the dairy yogurt that I have, but when I go to the store I will get something else. I like Forager Cashewgurt and SO Delicious Coconut milk yogurt. I have made my own, but unless you use a thickener it is pretty thin or you have to use a high fat coconut cream. It is yummy, but would not do for my goal for heart health. I am not real fond of almond milk products, but will use them if I have to. I always feel that the step part of Intensity is the highest intensity portion of that workout. Probably wise to leave it at that.

Deb, yes, prayers that that works. I heard about that on Fox news late last night. I would love to see them come up with something that can stop this insanity and save lives. Nursing home really seem to be hit hard. So sad. The book I have gives guidelines and some subs. Also some need to avoid nightshade vegetables and some do not. I had to really hunt because in the RA books I found the nutrition needs were different than ones for just anti-inflammatory diets which tended to allow more things than the RA protocol is. There are not a lot of focused on RA books that I could find. Today I ate my yogurt anyway with berries and protein powder and then a turkey teriyaki rice bowl that I had made, but without the rice. I just dumped some kale in it to get the green veggies. I am about to the point of needing to go to the store for fresh produce again. It is 90 today. The next few days our highs should be nice in the 60's . I have not seen many children out in the stores. Of course going at 2 am they are probably home in bed. I cannot imagine anyone wanting to take chances with their children. Best to take chances on pick up if you have to . My husband offered to take my daughter shopping and leave the children with me overnight, but she does not want to even do that. She keeps ordering from Walmart pick up and gets no meat. I need to make a couple of suggestions because they seemed to have only larger packages of ground beef, so if she orders a pound they won't sub for something the same or lower cost.

There are whole lot of things not known about the antibody issue so best not count on anything like that in the short term. certainly being looked at but no one even knows whether antibodies to the virus are even produced and how long they last. if they only provide immunity in the short term, it wont be reasonable to produce. the virus might lurk around in infected people and return later, kind of like how chicken pox can return decades later as shingles. so much unknown. we will be distancing and avoiding contact for quite a while unless there is some sudden unexpected break through. would be nice if it just disappeared but seems like wishful thinking at this point.

skipped a workout yesterday. I was tired and hadn't slept well. better today. we're going to try a road ride since its sunny and warm. or warm later today. maybe even 60-ish. still cool now.

stores are trying to limit children by asking for no more than 2 people together at a time. most children are not well controlled in stores so I'm happy to see that. we are now getting limits on how many people at a time can be in the store, and also the one way aisles. I'm not too happy about that. I tend to walk the 4 e edges of the store and duck into aisles I need. if I'm familiar with the store I know where what I want is, and I don't wander thru the whole place. oh well, haven't been shopping much lately.

Deb we get manure at a farm supply store. co ops. they have chicken and steer manure in bags. its easier to spread around a garden in bags, and then till it in. bulk manure can be found, but it will have a lot of weed seeds in, and its hard to transport and spread.
one thing I noticed yesterday..... we wanted to get some vegie seeds, kale and carrots, and the seed racks were almost empty. Never saw this before. apparently everyone is planting a garden this year so if you do, get your seeds ASAP. there were only a few odd ball seeds left, no choice at all. a month ago everything was full.

Good morning,

Today I did LITE Stacked Sets, Lower Body 38 minutes, 261 calories.

Diane Sue, yes, all the information between lack of taurine, due to the protein being substituted with lentils, chickpeas, etc was very confusing. There was a new food, kibble type that I saw somewhere that advertised that they bake, and do not overly process, which I guess why some say kibble is not good. If I see the brand again, I will save the name/link to it. I think a leaf blower/vacuum would be a good purchase, especially since that stuff bothers you a lot. I don't know why a doctor would tell someone they have the virus without them being tested. Has your daughter done something like Instacart?

Valerie, have a nice ride today!

Hi to Carolyn, Judy, & Lori,

Stay safe
Deb

This morning I did LiTE Stacked Sets Upper Body and Bonus Abs 2. My time was 53 minutes with 297 calories burned. My average heart rate was 122 and maximum heart rate was 153. I decided to do this one after we discussed it earlier in the week.

Diane Sue, great job with KCM Cardio Pump, Cardio Party timesaver, and Fitbit standing abs and stretch. I have been ignoring the Fitbit Discover tab. I have gotten emails about that section, but I only looked at it today for the first time. I will explore it a bit more later.

Valerie, I agree about the many unknown factors with this virus. When I see talk of getting major league sports going again by the fall, I wonder who will be comfortable in large crowds like that! That’s amazing that vegetable seeds have been bought up so early in the season.

Deb, great job with Stacked Sets Lower Body. I plan to do that one later this week.

Hello to Judy and Lori.

Did part of our ride this morning. DH had a flat tire before we even left, and when he replaced the tube, the new tube blew instantly. Great! two strikes before we're even out of the garage. we had ridden 9 miles and I got a flat. a bad flat with the outer tire shredded. we put in a new tube and hoped the tire would hold up a little while, and we went back the way we'd come, for 9 more miles. I thought we had duct tape to cover the shredded spot on the tire but we didn't. Damn. it was a beautiful day too, but that was 3 flats in one morning to deal with. lovely day and we got 18 miles but didn't get to see any flowers.

Carolyn, I think it's clear even the experts are evaluating this as we go one day to the next, no history to compare to. If things open up too quickly and crowds start passing it around, we will be back where this whole thing started, on the road to it escalating again. I was concerned this morning when it seemed a lot busier on the roads than even yesterday. maybe it was just where we happened to be.

its not that early for seeds here april is heavy planting time but I never saw the racks so empty! theres always some oddball stuff left, but this was way beyond anything Ive seen before. so if you want to plant beans or something, get seeds now or it will be like finding hand sanitizer. ETA I think its a quirk of the times, where people who don't bake suddenly bought flour and yeast, which are hard to find everywhere. I think they all decided to start a garden for the food itself, or to keep busy, or something for the bored kids to do. I never saw the seed racks cleaned out like this.

Today I decided to try more Fitbit workouts. Fit Bit Coach (there are some mingled with others) Cardio Crunch listed as a medium workout as there are easy, medium, and hard categories. This was 16 minutes, heart rate 137/167. 86 calories on my fit bit (letting the app log it for me it gave me 45 calories which I took the watch , 1,115 steps. I should have done one of the warm ups first as the coach did not include one. I then did Fit bit Obe' (wondered if some of these like this and pop sugar on available on youtube?) cardio boxing with Alex labeled hard, 129/161 heart rate, 3,029 steps, 147 calories, 27 minutes. I finished with Coffey Fit Raw Strength Day 2 chest and triceps, 34 minutes, 56 calories, heart rate 89/125. 292 steps. Total time was 77 minutes, 289 calories, 4,433 steps.
I was not so impressed with the coach workout. Maybe the weight ones are better. It has someone talking like a coach, a timer and breaks where the person comes out and demonstrates then the timer beeps and you start following the move till time is up. I guess that is good, just was not so fun that way. I would have been bored to death much longer than that. Weird that it was medium as it had burpees, high knees, tuck jumps etc. and I had to get out my rebounder. I was no way going to take the 45 calories and it claims it at 125 calorie workout. I stuck with my Fitbit. It gives the option at the end of each workout to save it for me. When I let it I have to go back and delete one of the two logs from watch and the video. Steps and time are okay, just not always the calorie burn. The Kickboxing was not a coach workout so a regular kickboxing workout with warm up and cool down. It was pretty good. I think I prefer my favorite instructors more. It had good music. I did not see any step workouts. There are Barre, kickbox, cycling, treadmill, elliptical, running, dance, cardio, and weighted and non weighted strength.
Also I do not think all of these workouts are there on the non premium as I tried on my older tablet that is larger and had to put the fitbit app on it. Premium did not seem to be showing up on it although it did show the versa 2. There was just a few workouts, but the layout was different.

Weights today: chest and triceps worried about shoulders so went lower for a lot of this
incline chest fly 15# 10 reps 2 sets, 12# 10 reps 3 sets last time I used 15's for all
flat bench press 15# 8 reps 5 sets last time I did 17.5
single arm kickback 10# 10 reps 5 sets
seated overhead triceps extension single arm 12# 10 reps 2 sets, 10# 10 reps 3 sets (Kelly drops reps near end)
alternating side crunches 10 reps alternating side to side, 10 reps right, 10 reps left
upper/lower crunches 10 reps 3 sets

Valerie, that is interesting about the seeds. I have heard people and seen things about people planting gardens. May be tough this year for those who do it routinely like my daughter does. I had thought of getting some patio tomatoes or something and see if maybe I get something out of it if they are set out in my pots and planter. So far my luck has not been good here. Not much space and the one planter in back did produce a couple of tomatoes. The only one that turned red and I was babying something came along and chewed up. I never seem to have much luck with seed. I remember in California having no problem growing things with seed. Maybe it is a difference in soil and weather. Or it is just me. I bought manure at Lowes when we lived north further. It was recommended when I started my own root roses which had huge blossoms. I felt bad when I took so much effort to make them perfect and we moved.
I don't think a lot of people would be comfortable in a large crowd environment any time soon.

Deb, I found several foods recommended as best choices with this problem in mind. The only ones I had heard of is the best overall as Ollie Healthy Turkey Feast human grade with added fruits and vegetables, Merrick Classic Real Chicken. Another American Journey Salmon as the most affordable which I have not heard of. They said check the AAFCO statement of Nutritional adequacy . Funny thing is Gertie eats her food, but is leaving pieces of it on a rug near the kitchen. I picked it up and put it in her bowl and she just sniffs it and walks off.

Carolyn, nice workout.

We are long time gardeners. DH grows some from seed. we have a short growing season here and if you want tomatoes you need to start them from seed or buy plants when the weather warms. some things don't transplant well and need to be seeded directly. we grow a lot of things and enjoy them. broccoli especially. its so good compared to "'store broccoli". the variety that grows well here might not grow every place, and some seeds produce broccoli just like the store has, so why bother. green beans too. so simple to grow and so good. I stagger the planting times so I always have some fresh greenbeans . nothing like the tough old beans you get in a store. we finally fenced our garden since deer like the same things we do. diane sue, they love roses, thorns and all. we tried to grow roses with a fence around each plant but gave up after a few seasons.

were going to try a ride again this morning, same plan as yesterday. another lovely day. my tires don't match so hopefully that wont be a problem. one is slightly bigger. we ordered a new set of tires but not here until monday. my old tires were close to 8 years old. saw quite a few people cycling yesterday but everyone was spaced out. not safe to ride close together.

Good afternoon,

Today I did LITE Cardio Party, 39 minutes, 286 calories. Not sure if this is it, but I already have almost 10,000 steps today, and it is only 1:15 pm. I think it is all the arm movement in Cardio Party. I know I did not take that many steps today. I really liked Cathe's weight workout at home the other day. I may do that one Sunday to start my week..

Carolyn, good job on Stacked Sets! It seems to be the popular Cathe workout this week. :)

Valerie, wow, what do you think caused 3 flats in one morning? You are probably correct on the baking supplies being purchased more than normal. John has made bread at least 4 times these past 2 weeks.

Diane Sue, where do you find the FitBit workouts? Do you stream them on YouTube? Do you have to have some kind of account? Dogs are really funny like that...just when you think you have their little "foibles" figured out, they do something weird again. LOL. Are you going to try one of those foods?

Hi to Judy & Lori,

Stay safe.

Today I did a timesaver premix from Rockout Knockout. That was 44 minutes and 308 calories burned. My average heart rate was 129 and maximum heart rate was 158.

Valerie, it’s wonderful that you can grow your own vegetables. I love the taste of broccoli and other vegetables that I get from the outdoor farmer’s market. I only grow small pots of herbs these days. We gave up on growing tomatoes because the squirrels would get more than we did.

Deb, nice job with Cardio Party. I like doing that one, too. Yes, Stacked Sets seems to be the workout of the week.

Diane Sue, great job with your workouts and discovering new ones on Fitbit. I think Fitbit offers just enough to entice you to try their premium site.

Judy, I hope that you are doing well.

Hello to Lori. Stay healthy everyone.

Deb, DH had a flat tire from the last time we rode. a slow leak. flat when he went to load his bike. the first tube he tried must have had a defect. it popped when he pumped it up. so that was 2 down. my tire went flat about mile 9. we had a tube, but looking at my tire, it was very worn. we took the shortest route back to our car. if the new tube had not lasted, I would have had to wait with my bike while he rode back to our car and then drove to pick me up. 9 miles pushing a bike is a long walk. we always carry an extra tube for each bike. I also had a new tire. its a big fuss to replace a tire, and of course it was the rear tire, and a tube if there is an easier way.

We did our repeat ride this morning. About 25 miles 2 and 1/4 hours. Really nice out. No flowers to be seen we think the tulip farms whacked off the tops so they didn’t attract people.
vegies are easy to grow if you pick the right ones. Hot weather crops like tomatoes and corn don’t always do well. Some years yes others no . We do more cool weather crops . We grow great tomato plants here, get 6-8 feet tall. they sometimes don't get ripe fruit though. every year is different. Broccoli is easy to grow here.

Hi Everyone,

Wednesday I did Cathe Live #50, Muscle Max (No Step), yesterday I did Live #111, Smokin' Upper Body Blast and this morning I did 3 of Cathe's new step tutorials (on YouTube). I also did 45 minutes of Yin Yoga. I really like the step tutorials. I think they will be very helpful.
Michigan's stay at home order was extended to April 30th. I'm hoping things will start to improve and that we can see something closer to normal in May or June.

Deb-Great job with Cardio Party! I might try Cathe's weight workout at home over the weekend.

Carolyn-Nice job with the Rockout Knockout premix!

Diane Sue-Nice workouts! I was wondering how the Fitbit Coach worked. I decided to do a couple of weeks of STS then maybe I'll do a couple weeks of the Raw Strength program.

Valerie-Great ride! It was only 30 degrees here this morning and we saw some snow last night.

Hi to Lori,

Take care,

Judy

Valerie, I have had really nice gardens in the past. I just does not seem to work where we are at. I think it would require tilling and adding nutrient dense soil. We have so much clay out in our back yard and the grand tends to crack easily. I use pots because people that lived here in the past have put lime stone in the planter by the door and I think for some reason they kept dumping lava rock where the yard had no grass. There was a bag of lava rock lying under one of the shrubs that had been there so long and took a lot of work for me to dig out as it had been there a long time. I pick and dig out rock all of the time. It needs landscaping to keep the water from flowing and the erosion down. I am pretty much on my own doing the work. A lot of people around here seem to do above ground gardens. My younger daughter did that. My older daughter loved that the cows didn't mind eating thorns. They let them in some of their wooded area and they chewed off a lot of the thorny brush which was actually helpful as my son in law was trying to clear a path through the property. I don't know what they will do now as they got rid of their cows and also their chickens. They are kind of wishing they didn't now.

Deb, Cardio Party always gets me a lot of steps. I think it is wonderful that it is fun and I get so many steps at the same time. There are a few workouts if you scroll down on you Fitbit app to where it says discover. If you get the paid Premium you have access to a lot of workouts. I am doing a 90 day free trial for Fitbit premium so my app looks somewhat different and after I click discover, I scroll down further and then click on workouts and there are a lot. Still limited from what you actually get for the paid premium. I am using the app on my Samsung tablet and doing the workouts there. I don't know how it is with everyone else that has had a Fitbit, but I have to have Bluetooth open only on the device I am using or it won't sync. From my understanding if you want to view the workouts on television you can use chromcast. Gertie has been doing all kinds of quirky things lately. Suddenly she has started running off when I fold clothes. I thought she had gotten over it, and when I open the dryer. She is funny. She was whining at my husband like she was telling him to hurry up and go to work so she could have a cookie that he gives her when he leaves.

Carolyn, nice work on Rockout Knockout today. Yes, they do give just enough to entice on the Fitbit app. I am not sure it is worth the money it costs though. I like the extra sleep stuff and the guided sleep things you can use and listen to. But, all in all, most of the extras you can find somewhere without paying. Maybe not the restorative sleep when the heart rate is lower than resting and how much percentage you get. Interesting, but not a needed item I guess.

Judy, good job on the workouts so far. I am not sure I will get all of the 5 day strength workout from Kelly in this week. I may be doing the Total Body one on Monday. I forgot that Kelly had filmed a workout live at 10 this morning. I went upstairs to workout at 10:30. I wonder if she will put it in her raw workouts as she said something about forgetting about the mirror image and she had planned on putting it up on youtube.

It seems there have been a lot of instructors filming and putting there workouts out there for free.

I forgot to post my workout.
Today I did Raw Box and Kettlebell 2, 31 minutes, 127 calories, 112/164 heart rate, 2,273 steps. I then did Lite extended stretch #1, 13 minutes, 9 calories. I also did Fit Bit premium ease upper body tension yoga segment, 16 minutes, 45 calories. Total time 60 minutes, 181 calories, 2,287 steps. I needed to get done so I could go to Sprouts. I dread every time I have to go out to the store like that. Such a hassle and paying attention to markings and distance. One way aisles are a nuisance as I had to backtrack around several times. I liked the upper body tension yoga. It was total body but did quite a bit of stuff for shoulder tension and a couple of newer ways of doing it.

Good morning ladies!

Did my usual mixture of workouts. I seemed to have been leaning more towards Body By Simone this week though. I love her app and her live workouts. Funny when she first started her app, I hated you could not choose the workout you wanted as they were all preselected based on the amount of time you plugged in. That has all changed a while ago and she has a lot of content. I love I do not have to rush my workouts and can workout as long as I want to. I will admit, when I do go back to work it will be hard for me to get back to the early morning workouts! when working I was up no later than 5am. Now I wake up at 6:30 and sit around watching news and having coffee for a couple of hours before I workout.

Looks like everyone had some great workouts! Love reading all the variety! Valerie...do you wear a mask when you do hikes or bike? Our governor now is urging everyone to wear a mask when they leave their house. We have not been when we walk GiGi. Where we walk is pretty isolated so we are thinking this is ok.

Grocery stores now limit the number of people allowed in the store, plus the isles are marked for oneway only. I am totally ok with this!

My brother and my good friend have received their $1,200 stimulous check already. Happy for them as they can really use it.

My son and his fiancé (he proposed in January while at Disney :)) will be coming over later today and bringing mexican food. We still need to respect the social distancing so they are entering from the screen patio and eating out there while we are in the kitchen with the slider door open so we can chat and feel like we are having a meal together. Our screened in patio is pretty large and very airy so we all feel comfortable with the distancing. We are having margaritas, and they are bringing their own ingredients (including glassware) so no touching each others stuff! I will be making mine and Bob’s. We are looking forward to it. Been a while since we have seen them and we are looking forward to it.

Have a great day all! Happy Easter!

Good morning,

A rest day for me today. I did manage 11, 509 steps yesterday. Gotta love that Cardio Party! We went to the Co-op for a few things early this morning, It was pretty empty, which was great for us.

Carolyn, great job on Rock0ut/knockout. :) I guess Cathe thought Stacked Sets was the workout of the week as well...she has that on her discount DVD yesterday.

Valerie, of course, "when it rains it pours"...hopefully you will not get a flat tire for a long time now. Do you think broccoli would grow in a pot? We've been talking about starting some vegetables in pots in our yard this spring. Which is the type you mentioned that does not taste like "grocery story" broccoli?

Judy, I didn;t realize Cathe had a live version of Muscle Max. I need to look at that one. Did you just string the step tutorials together to make one longer workout? I may try that Monday for my cardio day.

Diane Sue, I think this is the food that I saw recently....not sure what it would cost etc...but may be worth just researching if it is a good one: https://early.sundaysfordogs.com/about. Go through the site, I like the "compare" tab. I don't think I would pay for any FitBit "extras"....do the ones that you view on a TV actually have people doing them?

Lori, yes, that Mexican dinner sounds wonderful! It's amazing what you can do and still keep it within the distancing protocol! The grandchildren of my friend( the ones I used to babysit for) made huge birthday cards for their grandfather (it was his birthday yesterday), and their daughter drove them to the front of his house where they hung the cards out the window for him to see. It was so cute! it seems that even though I am retired, I am more relaxed about picking a workout time. We are also encouraged to wear masks and gloves whenever outside of your house/yard. We do it, especially at grocery stores.

Take care everyone, and have a nice Easter!

Deb our broccoli plants get quite large. sometimes they get a big central head, sometimes not, seems to depend on weather conditions. they have a lot of small shoots. I keep harvesting the side shoots. its Waltham 29 broccoli. we have different growing conditions here though. we start seeds indoors, transplant outdoors when they are a few inches tall. the plants can get 2-3 feet all and wide. just like our tomato plants end up 6-8 feet tall. we might have 20 plants at one time so if a few don't do well its no loss. its more tender than store broccoli, and even the stalks taste good and cook quickly. conditions here produce big plants.
Back from groceries. went OK, early enough so not that busy. I'd say a third of people are wearing masks. does not seem to go by age or whether employees or not. Lori I have a mask but I have not worn it. I am very good about not touching my face. I've worn gloves but DH had them to fit him. they are larges. the finger tips get caught everywhere. in the car door. in my pockets, using the cc, unzipping a pocket. the phone wont work with the gloves on. Itake them off and put them back on half a dozen times which defeats the purpose. I pull them off inside out and put them back on that way so the outside is still "out" but a massive PTA. I'm putting light garden gloves in my car, will wash them after using. they fit and I wont need to take them off constantly.

Lori we don't wear masks. where we ride or hike, there isn't anyone else. if you pass 2 bikes on the other side of a normal width road, going opposite direction, its not a risk. if a car drives by, same thing. we found park bathrooms all locked so that eliminates any surface contact. had to wait to get back to the car to pee. no bathrooms accessible doesn't change that basic bit of nature. the closest I get to anyone is passing in a grocery aisle. even one way doesn't solve that. ours are now one way. limits on how many people can be in a store at once. so I go early on a non senior day and that works best for me here. a good plan for visiting as long as everyone keeps protocol.

I took a rest day today. We had our investment club meeting online this morning. It worked out well considering that none of us knew what we were doing! It was learn as you go.

Lori, that’s wonderful that you have found a way to visit with your son and keep your distance at the same time. We are planning to do an online family get together tomorrow.

Valerie, I am happy to see more people wearing masks here now. I have a homemade mask while I wait for the one that I ordered to arrive. It’s supposed to be here today.

Hello to Deb, Judy, and Diane Sue.
