Pentagenarians & Beyond: W/B 4/24/22

No workout today. I went to a lady's spring luncheon at my church. Yesterday I started with CDorner Dance Cardio Lady Gaga and switched workouts after 13 minutes and decided on Jessica Smith Walk Strong Build Balance Inner Strength Episode 1 Balance Agility which uses a band. This worked much better as my knee is still bothering me. The band work was doable as well, this was 43 minutes, heart rate 102/132, 2,149 steps, 131 calories. I then did Jessica Smith Gentle Flow Yoga 3 knees and hips 22 minutes, heart rate 83/100, 39 calories, 449 steps. Total time was 65 minutes, 170 calories, 2,598 steps. My knee feels even better today. That dance workout of Chris's was just so much cross back turns and quick paced. Started out more active and hit move breakdowns and my heart rate plummeted so that is why I changed.
I got up this morning and saw that my husband had ordered all of the bands, foam roller, and mat I had in my wish list and also two IT lipsticks I wanted :D All of the latex bands I had are sticking together and breaking. I think it was time to avoid an injury with them. Plus Cathe's are not latex. My oldest daughter is extremely allergic to latex products. Now if I could just find my yoga blocks. I am thinking my grandson done something to them. May need some of those two. I use them more for resting my head at times or raising my torso up so I do not lay on my shoulder with full force.

Judy, wow on 20,000 steps. I would not be worried so much about the call back, except I have never had a call back after a mammogram before. Also I have been having some pain and mentioned that to the technician as I told her I could find nothing, it just feels like it is in the bones underneath. Anyway, she said most of the time pain is from something else. I thought maybe it was from all of the pulling and stuff with PT and the surgery. So, hopeful this turns out okay. The technician was very careful not to hurt my shoulder so it may be something to do with that. Although she retook a couple of shots as said it showed some movement or was not good enough.

Carolyn, nice work with Step Sync and today's Stacked Sets Lower.

Valerie, I could have stopped PT a long time ago. My surgeon said I could work on it myself or he could write me another prescription. I had him extend it as I want to be sure I keep that full range of motion I am just getting. Plus I have talked about what I am doing to try to get the same moves in with my own equipment. He gets a deeper stretch in the shoulder still and pushes and holds it which I cannot do by myself. I cannot understand why people just give it up. They got me in for this Wednesday which was a relief as at first she said it would be a couple of weeks. I don't want to think about it for that long.

I did Stacked sets upper body today and the ab workout. did garden work earlier for several hours.

I just never understand my SIL. you go thru a surgery to replace a knee, not once but twice, and then you don't want to bother showing up for PT to get your new knee working properly? who thinks like that? SIL has trouble going uphill and downhill, and walks funny, with a sort of foot slap on the right side. Insurance covers most of the cost anyway, since its much less expensive than the alternatives. if the PT place was a long drive I would still go enough to get the PT exercises learned and then would do it myself at home, with a f/up appt with the therapist after an agreed on time span. I've had really good results with PT more than once. a good therapist to start, but also doing the work every day, or twice a day.

Judy that is impressive mileage. HD stores are big, I can understand how you could put on a lot of miles.

I bought a bulk box of Theraband a few years ago. I can cut my own size and if I get one that starts breaking, I can replace right away. the other drawback is tall bands are the same resistance level. I used the box up. I like Cathe's (handle) resistance bands. hand arthritis makes dumbbells not easy to use.
