Good morning,

Still cold here....On FB: "I would have made more of an effort to enjoy spring if I knew it was only going to last 3 days" . How true.

Valerie, it sounds like the PT and work you have done has really paid off!

Diane Sue, glad your neck is better. so you are a Great Grandmother? That's awesome.

Judy, glad you got Live to work on other devices, so that must meat it's the Apple TV itself...hope the reset works.

Hi Jody, Lori, & Lynda,

A workout, then HouseMax for me....dogs baths, finish the food etc etc

Take care,

Good morning ladies!

Yesterday was SB lower body 3. This was a really tough one at about 40 minutes plus I used 1 lb ankle weights. I really like the added weight of either 1 or 2 lbs when doing barre. Really makes a difference. I have been following SB's Spring Challenge. I did her Spring Challenge last year and actually made it through so trying this one to see how long I go. I then did Xtrain Hardstikes Tabatas on the heavy bag along with Rockout Knockout bonus heavy bag. Today will be Live Giant Sets.

Deb!! Hilarious about the 2 days of Spring. I like you solution to Friday Night workouts!

Valerie...we'll be starting up with Gnats soon. I am one of those people that are very sensitive to insect bites like gnats, mosquitos, fleas. The bites really swell. One time I was bit by a mosquito on the top of my ear and ended up needing to go on a steriod. My ear was huge. Heaven forbid I get bit near the eyelid which has happened. Swells to the point I can't open the eye. Crazy. Great ride!!!

Diane Sue...glad you are enjoying your rest days. Thankfully no pollen issues here. Sometimes my outside furniture is just covered with it. I feel for all who are bothered by pollen.

Josie...Thanks for the picture! Was nice to see your smiling face!

Judy...so far our Apple TV has been great. So sorry you have having isses. Very unusual. Are you able to hook your Ipad to your TV so at least you can contiune to use the Live workouts?

No plans for the day otherbthan starting to clean off the outdoor patio to get ready for Spring should it decide to visit!

Hi to Lynda!!

Judy,

I feel your pain...I did Live Ice Total Body Compound just now, and the Chromecast stopped for some reason, and I couldn't get it back to where it stopped on the screen, unfortunately with chromecast, the way it is set up, even though there is no picture or anything on the screen, the workout is still going on and there is no way to FF or Rewind....:(. I may try what Lori suggested and use it on my iPad next time...see if there is a better control....

good morning all...
Lori I'm also sensitive to bites. one got me Friday, while riding. I had long sleeves and gloves on, but there was a half inch not covered and that's where he got me. on the inside of my wrist. itching and driving me crazy. used hydrocortisone cream and Benadryl but it still takes time to settle down. I'm aggressive about flea control because fleas jump off cats and dogs eagerly to take a bite of me. funny you should mention a bite near an eye... while I was riding I felt a bug hit my forehead and drop down behind my sunglasses. that is a huge fear for me, that a yellowjacket will get trapped behind my sunglasses and sting me in the eye area. I got bitten last spring while riding in Idaho . pretty sure it was a yellowjacket. he stung multiple times thru my shorts on my upper thigh. Huge red flushed swollen area that hurt like crazy, and then itched for days. black flies cause a strong reaction too. I've tried every repellant known to science but none do much. I spray my outdoor clothes with permethrin mostly to repel ticks. clothing is my best defense, and not boing outside when conditions are bad.

we are covered in tree pollen right now too. you can see clouds of it when the wind blows. not supposed to be that allergenic but it makes a dusty coating on everything.
we had a friend over for lunch yesterday so all cleaning and cooking got done yesterday and I took a rest day. might do something today as it's cooler and cloudy so far.

Somebody in the general area had a party last night complete with motorcycles and loud rap music, shouting etc. woke me up around midnight. sat and read for an hour. Why are people so inconsiderate? No way to tell exactly where it's coming from unless you get up, dress, and drive around and then call to report it, and hope law enforcement isn't too busy to drop by and shut it down. going back to sleep after that is a lost cause..... some nights it's better to shut windows, put in earplugs and try to ignore it.

Hi everyone--

This morning I did Live Cardio and Weights (54 min.). Not sure I will do this one again because the first cardio is way too much impact. I could do the others pretty well. She moves pretty fast on this one, although gradually things seem to get slower and easier. Mostly 10 lb dumbbells, some work with the band. Tough and sweaty for me.

Deb, that is hilarious about spring. At least we are not in Ely Minnesota with 12 degrees and snowing. That must be very frustrating with trying to work out and suddenly everything disappears. I think the Princeton professor was good friends with several people in the English dept--either as a fellow grad student at Cornell or as a mentor of one of the younger faculty at Princeton when he was a grad student. My gag reflex can't tolerate someone who says he is "like totally sincere" and on a "journey away from scholarship." Too many adjunct professors living on a pittance and doing serious scholarship who would give their eye teeth to be a tenured professor anywhere, much less Princeton. Pretty soon there will be a reality show titled "The Real Professors of Princeton or Yale or Harvard." People who are on journeys to wellness, or to happiness, or to something or other make me wince.

Lori and Valerie, that's awful to be so sensitive to mosquito bites or any bugs. I don't know--maybe this is silly--but I hardly ever get a mosquito bite anymore and I have wondered if it's hormonal and I just don't attract them anymore the way I did when I had a lot of raging hormones. My husband just says we're lucky to have so many bats and frogs when I come up with this theory.

Off to the birthday party this afternoon and going out to dinner again. I will have to be careful at the birthday party not to eat much.

Enjoy the rest of the weekend everyone!

Rest day again today. I think it has been a total all around let everything go because diet has not been good either. Fast food Friday and Saturday and sandwich brunch with chips at my daughter's today. With the kitchen work and so much going on it just has been too hard to worry about it. I will get back on track this week. We still have to get paint for the molding and put it up then we will be done for now. I tried to get paint today but they didn't have what I want and suggested a paint and flooring store that was not open on Sunday. I would have painted the molding today if I could have got it. I will post some before and after pictures when we are done. The light is up and everything else. It looks so much nicer and more open. Sometime we want to redo the counter tops. They are really old and outdated. I miss the granite we had at our last home. Funny, we watched the Money Pit this evening with Tom Hanks and Shelly Duvall. At least our house isn't like that :) It is raining tonight. We are really needing it.

Deb, LOL, I must have been half asleep or something when I typed that. Plus I was using the i pad. I do not have great grandchildren yet. My oldest granddaughter is almost 19 and does have a steady boyfriend that she has dated for the last 3 years. They both go to different universities. That being said her mother was married at 18. He was pretty much the only guy she dated and they have bee married 22 years now and have a great relationship. I think my granddaughter and her boyfriend both want to finish college first. He did have an internship set up with Chesapeake oil company but now they are laying off so they canceled it. I like using my lap top to stream because I can move forward and back through the live workouts. I can do it on the cell phone too when I have it hooked up but it is easier with the computer.

Lori, I like the way you put two heavy bag workouts together. I have done that. I love doing the heavy bag work.
I keep cleaning up my outside area and the winds keep coming up and filling it all back in with leaves and seedlings. Today I had to dig up little trees because I never could get all of the acorns raked up. This does not help the allergies. I got one of those masks to wear outside today. and changed all 4 filters in my air purifier. I do better in my house than when I go out somewhere. Mosquitos have never liked me very much. I have rarely had mosquito bites. Gnats on the other hand nip. Mosquitos love my husband though. He does not like to go outside in the evening even with insect repellant because they seem to still bite.

Valerie, most of those insect repellents are definitely not 100% I buy one that has tea tree oil in it. I bet you were afraid of a yellow jacket after that experience. My daughters and their families (older children) all went to Haiti on a mission trip last year and they had to take lots of precautions for mosquitos there. They slept with netting over themselves. They are planning on going back this year. My youngest daughter worked to raise funds for a well for water there. I think that she is hoping to see the progress. I see the pollen floating through the air. When my older grandchildren were small they used to collect the floating stuff that was yellow and grind it up with stones into a fine yellow powder pretending it was flour or something. Needless to say I wasn't really pleased when they came in all covered in it. My allergies last most of the year but, this time of year is the worst. I usually get a reprieve around August for a little while. I have never went and got tested though. The doctor says it is allergies and I am sure it is. The whole drippy nose, scratchy throat, irritated eyes thing along with sneezing and coughing because of the itchy throat. I hate allergy medicine and try to do everything I can to help it without the meds. They all have some nasty side affect. That is rude for someone to have a party late like that. I hope that doesn't happen to you often. Yes, if you get woke up like that it is generally the end of sleeping.

Lynda, I think I may have done that live workout or another that sounds like it. I know I did one that used 10# and had about a 15 minute stretch of higher impact that got less and finally went into all strength work. I have a hard time remembering which ones I have done now without going back and looking over those sheets Lori put out. I think I need to just make a list of the ones done by name for a quick look. My daughter that lives out in the country had a terrible bunch of scorpions a couple of years ago. They had to scoop them out of the pool before we got in it. One time I went to visit and slept in my granddaughter's room and one stung me in the middle of the night. I was up shaking the bedding till I found it to kill it. I didn't sleep well after that.

Judy, I have Flonase and Claritin here. Also some Alavert, and Zertec along with a couple of prescription inhaler meds but, I seriously hate the side affects. I try to cut the dosages in half. Even though some say non drowsy they make me sleepy and dizzy. I also hate the dry mouth feeling. I was trying to refresh my memory this morning on the low histamine diet eat don't eat plans. I read that quercetin, vitamin C, and bromelain, help as natural antihistamine. I may look into it. It gets where I can't stand it and give in to the meds for a bit.

Good morning,

We had snow here yesterday, a couple of inches at least, ...but overnight it was raining, so most of it is gone now. Strange weather for mid-April, that's for sure. Yesterday I did Ice Total Body Compound....a great workout, I like it better than the DVD one. I wish my Chromecast hadn't done whatever it did...I missed a part of the workout, but will definitely do it again.

Lori, are you doing barre work for all your lower body workouts now? Wow you are really sensitive to insect bites, what happens if you are stung by a bee?

Valerie, that is awful that you can get bitten even while moving during a ride. I never thought that could happen. John is allergic to bee stings, maybe we need to carry the epi pen on our rides, however we never had any issue with any insects while riding, maybe when we stopped somewhere. That is really inconsiderate of people, you would think that someone closer to them would call and report it ...

Lynda, How was dinner? I never looked at that workout, I assumed it was like the DVD, used the step for cardio. I thought that "Valley Girl" speak went out a long time ago, but I guess it didn't. What age group is this Professor in? I think Kim is right, with bats and frogs, your insect population has to be pretty low.

Diane Sue, I think the additional rest days will be good....and you can always start fresh with good eating this week right? Would like to see before and after pics. I loved The Money Pit. I should try the lap top to stream, it may be better but I hate setting it up etc. I think we are spoiled with all these smaller things, tablets, phones etc. Your granddaughter is smart to wait until they are finished with college, so much maturing/change goes on during that time. Scorpions? Yikes! I would not have been able to sleep at all after that. I guess I am pretty lucky, not allergic to anything but cats.

Josie, what is this photo that I missed? :)

Hi to Judy,

A workout, then going to my cousins to help her out a little with getting her stuff put away after the move, class tonight...

Take care,

Hi everyone--

This morning I did ICE Sweat both workouts (46 min.).

Oh no! Snow! Deb, yesterday was beautiful here--sunny and in the high 40s. I think the Princeton professor was in his late 50s, early 60s. Valley Girl speak is still very much around and it is not confined to girls. I remember some really painful oral presentations by male students where every other word was "like." No step in that workout, but the first cardio sequence is non-stop jumping jacks and felt like it would go on FOREVER. Dinner was excellent. A kale salad with fried plantains and lots of cilantro in a lime vinaigrette and a second course of soft beef brisket tacos that tasted like it either had been smoked or put in a marinade of some kind with a really tasty slaw. I didn't do the third course--an ice cream sandwich--and I brought home one taco. I managed to resist the birthday cake and just had ice water at the birthday party, keeping to my fast. My friend looks great for 90 years old and she was so happy.

Diane Sue, you must be suffering with those allergies. Last year we had a ton of tree pollen and I just remember dusting furniture on a daily basis to get the yellow film off. Like Deb, I think I have a slight allergy to cat hair because when I visit my vet friend, my eyes get itchy after petting her two cats. I love before and after pictures, so please send them on.

Lori, good luck on SB's spring challenge. No way would I put on leg weights when doing barre. You must be in love with the burn you get. Cross your fingers--we may get a couple days of spring next weekend.

Judy, did I hear correctly that Michigan had a major snowstorm?? If so, my condolences.

Hi to Valerie and Josie!

(Note, I previewed and wrote a lot of this down while I had coffee and was reading on my tablet this morning)

Lynda, I think I have some pet allergies. I had a hard time at my daughters when her golden lab with the long fluffy hair was shedding terribly and I was really miserable. I also noticed suffering at one time when we had a dane the shed a lot and our dog we just lost along with our lop eared bunny. I was always rubbing my nose and itchy face. It was probably mostly Harvey the bunny. I find during allergy season if I keep the dogs bathed and brushed well along with vacuuming often it helps a lot. I think they bring pollen in on them more than it being animal dander.

Deb, I don't enjoy dragging my lap top upstairs but I am starting to get used to it. I would just keep the laptop upstairs hooked up but it does not have an HDMI hook up. I keep the HDMI cable hooked to the television as well as the one for the phone. That way I don't have to plug those in. That makes it a bit quicker.

Hi Everyone,

Today I did a 45 minute Spinerval, "The Pain Cave". It's a high intensity interval workout. My HR got up to 170 on a couple of the intervals. My average HR was 129, calories burned was 356. I will try to get a core workout in tonight too.

Lynda-we did have some crazy weather this weekend. It was very cold, but fortunately we didn't get any significant snow fall. It was worse northwest of here, in the Grand Rapids area. They had quite a bad snow storm yesterday. It looks like we may finally get some nice spring like weather this week.

Deb-that's too bad about your Chromecast :( I thought I had Live working with Apple TV, but about 10 minutes into the workout that I was testing, it just stopped, literally. The Live screen just disappeared and it went back to the Apple TV menu..

Diane Sue-I had saved something about a low antihistamine diet too, but I never really tried it. One thing I know for me is that eating some fruits will trigger my allergies just like pollen does.

Lori-yes, I can still stream the workouts on my iPad and my desktop computer. I'm a little disappointed that Apple TV isn't working but it's not that big of a deal and hopefully I can get it to work. Great job with SB's Spring Challenge!

Josie-Thanks for the great photo!

Hi to Valerie!

Judy

Diane sue, you are right about the pollen coming in on pets. the tree pollen isn't supposed to be very allergenic, but I'm bothered this year I'm allergic to grass, mainly grass used in golf courses. also to some weeds and trees, horses, a whole list of things I tested positive to. Never had any real problems though except for golfing and mowing.
I react strongly to insect bites but just at the site of the bite, I don't get respiratory or systemic involvement. Deb, if John is allergic enough to need an epi pen, yes you should carry it along. I've had numerous run ins with bees and wasps while riding. the one in Idaho was a memorable one because I either hit several insects or one stung me multiple times before I could stop. I'd been riding hard, it was hot. you go fast and sometimes you run into them, or they into you. DH has been stung also. most places we ride have a lot of plants and flowers. yellow jackets nest in the ground and if the nest gets disturbed it can get frantic quickly. I stick an ice pack on a sting if I have one, and take an antihistamine. I don't take antihistamines routinely but always have them in a first aid kit in my pack or the camper. my bite from Friday is still itchy and swollen.

OMG you are still getting snowed on? I don't envy anyone with snow in april.

I can't listen to anyone who inserts "like" a dozen times per sentence. It makes me crazy. there's a checker at the store I shop at who uses it incessantly "I was, like...." etc etc. I avoid her register because it annoys me so much.

Okay... the highlight of this mornings hike was going back to the pond where we saw the bullfrogs and the otters. this time there were wood ducks. there's a fish ladder from the pond to the large lake below. I was watching some plant debris swirling around in the ladder and thought I saw something. looking closer, I saw 2 garter snakes trapped in the water below the concrete sides. I got a long branch with lots of small twigs at the end and fished them out one at a time. set them down to warm up and dry off. I think snakes are interesting and I could not see leaving them in there to drown.

Good evening ladies!

This morning was SB Adv Lower Body and then Lower Body Reset. Wow legs were shaking. This was my only workout today. My legs were burning so I am ok resting them tonight. We are supposed to start back up with the ladies. Between vacations and everyone sick we sort of stopped. The nicer weather is coming so there will be an influx of ladies!

Deb...it does seem like Barre is my only leg workouts, but I feel I get good lower weight workouts with all the plyo and metabolic Live workouts. Plus I have been doing CLX once or twice a week. Can't believe we are still talking snow! This has been a crazy Spring! I have never been stung by a bee. I have been stung by a yellow jacket, first and only time a couple of years ago on my forearm and boy did it swell.

Lynda...yup totally addicted to the burn. I use only 1lb most of the time but do have a few workouts I prefer 2lbs. I have amazingly strong legs! Yes please let's have some nice weather!

Diane Sue...I love that Fusion workout and have done it a few times. Sometimes for a quick workout I'll do the warm up, kickboxing then a cool down to give me a quick 30ish minute workout. That would drive me nuts dragging my laptop to workout. I am so fortunate that my son upgraded his desktop and gave me his old. I just keep it plugged in and ready to go. Works perfect to stream and use my downloads.

Judy...wow that name of that workout really intimidates me!! Lol! Good for you! I love SBF streaming. Did you renew or did you drop it? That really stinks about your Apple TV. I do not use mine to workout unless I have to workout upstairs due to guests staying over and me losing my workout space.

Valerie...so,like if you like had a like conversation with someone like this would like drive you like nuts??? Lol!!! Omg...I recently had a conversation and everyother word was like. I finally said something to that person. She was young and she had no idea how often she said it. Your hike sounded wonderful!

Hi to Josie!!!

Lori that was just like, so totally like, awesome!.... you are such a, like , amazing person! just, like, totally awesome !! (tee hee)

We had our internet connection fixed this weekend.. it wasn't the modem but the connection on the telephone pole. Josie, I didn't get any pictures from you. probably while we were "down". can you re send?
Holy cow judy, I could not get to 170 and still be alive. that must be a heck of a workout.

I was never stung until I was an adult. but by now ....quite a few times. I have never seen the critter that did it. assume yellow jackets due to what I saw in the area, and how they behave. the sting in Idaho..I was pedaling hard and fast, end of the ride, my legs were really hot and perfused and the venom spread quickly. huge red swollen patch in minutes, even with ice.

Judy, I have the Whole 30 low histamine list from their downloads. I have loosely followed it because some things are hard to give up completely during allergy season. Eggs, nuts, tomatoes, and spinach are out. Most fruit is a do not eat. I eat mostly berries anyway and even though it says no strawberries, I don't mind. I am not a huge fan. The list has things in blue as the best choice, black is okay, and grey is avoid.
That sounds like a tough cycling workout. Good job getting the HR up to 170.

Valerie, my daughter that is the medical field has terrible allergies. For years I kept trying to figure out what it was and finally we went through all of the testing. One of her allergens was feathers. She had collected some peacock feathers she had in her room from someone's house that had peacocks. We had birds for years. She is allergic to kapok and latex so we had to go hunting for new mattresses for her. One time when her and her husband went on vacation to Cozumel she had a bad reaction on the plane to something. She had to take a bunch of Benedryl. Now she carries an epi pen and Benedryl with her all of the time. I don't care for snakes but garter snakes do no bother me. My daughter felt bad when they moved in their house and my daughter heard sounds sliding around in her bedroom ceiling. There was two big black snakes in the ceiling and after they killed them they found out they would have taken care of some of the poison ones that they have out around their property and pond. I think they were rat snakes??

Lori, spring does seem like it would draw a lot more women out to do the workouts together. I think that barre is a good way to cross train with the weight work. Thinking about desktops, I forgot we have an all in one just sitting in a corner on the floor upstairs. If I could find a table or something to set it up on I could use it. My husband mentioned me using it when my upstairs laptop quit having audio during one of it's updates. Odd thing is that laptop had no sound and I kept taking it back to a previous time for so long till it wouldn't even do that. I tried external speakers and everything and nothing worked. Over a year later it just up and decided to start working again. But, it has no HDMI hook up. The all in one was one my husband had in his office at his last job. I have one person I avoid at checkout in Walmart because he talks to himself all while he is checking you out. He might stop and look at me as if he just noticed me in the middle of checking and say" how are you?" and turn back to what he was doing like he wasn't expecting an answer. The other day I went to his register because he wasn't busy. I guess others feel like I do. I wanted to get out of the store. He did the usual and later he says "that's good" It took me a bit to realize he was responding to me saying that I was doing fine.

LOL on the like for everything phrases. I don't think I have heard anyone do that in a long time.

Good morning,

Yesterday I did a Cardio Coach on the treadmill. I spent most of the day helping my cousin get her office in her new house organized, set up the phone, scanner etc. While we were working her sump pump died...and it was raining. Good thing her friend that is a handy man was there and ran out to get a replacement.

Lynda, I guess I am not around that age group that much. Soft beef brisket tacos...mmmm...there is a little Mexican grocery store here that makes those and sells them very inexpensively. They have a tiny part of their store where they cook with just a counter if you want to eat there. John stops there and grabs a couple of them on his way home sometimes for dinner. So good. Is your friend still active? is she in an assisted living place? I never knew I was allergic to cats until I was at one of John's friends house for the first time and thought I was slammed with the worst cold ever all of a sudden. As soon as I was home for a bit, it went away. I was in my 30's at the time. No one I knew had a cat up until that time.

Diane Sue, great workouts! You had a Dane? Snakes in the ceiling? Wow, that is scary.

Judy, I always grin a the name of that workout....it would make me run the other way! I think we should be getting some nice weather starting Thursday, you probably will have it today. That is what happened to me the other day with the Live workout, it stopped, and the chromecast screen was on the TV, I could see that the workout was counting down on my phone, no picture there either. Do you use the Apple TV for anything else?

Valerie, I agree, the epi pen and antihistamines will be part of our bike carrier pouches etc. I guess we have not run into that as we only have been riding on city streets and parks. That's horrible about the snakes getting stuck there....so good you were there and able to rescue them. Glad they finally found out what your internet connection was...same as ours, they had to replace the cable that went to the pole.

Lori, I have a hard time with the differences between bees, yellow jackets, hornets & wasps. When we were kids, they were either bees or wasps...LOL. :). The Lunch Ladies are getting back in the groove!

Josie, would like to see the pic too.

Not much going on here either, a workout, then taking Keegan to the vet...for some vaccinations. I thought we had them all at the last visit, then we get the notice.....that bugs me. I try to have them all on the same schedule and it doesn't seem to work out.

Take care,

Just finished Barbell Upper Body using the iPad.....a disaster....it kept stuttering on the TV screen, and the workout on the iPad was not in synch with the TV so no way to try to "rewind" to go back and do what was missed....It would be good if I was just using the iPad to do the workout, but I like the larger screen. Someday....this will all be solved...I guess I am back to my phone.

Good Morning Everyone,

I'm planning on doing an upper body and core workout this morning.

Deb-I think I will have to go back to just using the iPad or the MacBook for the Live workouts. I was really hoping to be able to use the larger screen but it's not happening right now. I bought the Apple TV primarily for streaming workouts but I do like it and will use it for movies and tv shows. I hope at some point that it will work better for streaming. I wonder if it's the TV that is the problem. We have a Vizio that is 2-3 years old. More troubleshooting to do..

Diane Sue-Thanks, I just downloaded the Whole 30 list. I love eggs, and they don't seem to bother me, but I can see that many of the foods that they have in grey are foods that I have trouble with. I've had trouble with grapefruit for years. I get the same symptoms as I do when I am around pollen. That sometimes happens even when I'm just walking through the produce section of the grocery store. I have learned to avoid fruit in general.

Valerie-it was a pretty intense workout. 170 is about as high as I get on the bike. I usually stay around 140-150 on most rides.

Lori-I dropped the SB streaming, just because I wasn't using it enough. I do like her and I may start the streaming up again. I have a few of the Barre Amped dvds to use for now.

Hi to Lynda & Josie!

Judy

Judy I can handle 140-150 Ok. when I get over 150, very high for me because I have a normally low rate, I back off. I don't want to think about 170!
I love most fruit. I usually plate up dinner with a piece of in-season fruit. Been oranges for the last few months. I like fruit best with a meal, often part of the main dish. I did a chicken dish with oranges the other night that was excellent. Grapefruit, however, is one fruit I detest. sour and bitter. Ugh. I'll take a look at the low histamine list out of curiosity.

I finally played an ICE workout on our other system in the family room. the music is still too loud and "clashy" sounding, though not quite as overwhelming as on the downstairs system. I've used this series less than any other. I'm going to work on each disk with voice only , and if that is not OK, I will sell the whole series.

I would not be happy with snakes in the ceiling! these were only little garter snakes. even if they were bigger, I would have tried the same thing. I DID use a 10 foot branch! I think snakes are interesting and have encountered some big ones, a very large bull snake in Yellowstone one time. dozens of people walked right by it and never saw it. I spotted it and thought it was a prank because it was so big and no one was reacting. this was outdoors under a bush on a trail, not crawling around inside the house. totally different! Anyway, I felt good about saving them. no idea how they ended up in the fish ladder but no way could they have gotten out.

Deb, I don't like hauling a bunch of "stuff" along but if it could be a medical emergency, I'd want to be ready. I've never seen anything that stung me so no way could it have been avoided.

Hi everyone--

This morning I did Live Ice Total Body Compound (43 min.). I like this one a lot.

Sorry, Deb, that you are having so many issues with Chromecast. My 90 year old friend has a bed and breakfast during the summer months and is an avid gardener. She has been going to Jacob's Pillow with me and another friend for many years now. She does not either look or act her age I guess. Very youthful and fun.

LOL on all the likes.

Judy, I would definitely not grab a workout called the Pain Cave! Wow! Caves sort of scare me and I get claustrophobic, so that would definitely be part of my aversion. Can you actually do a workout just looking at your computer or iPad? I have to have something bigger.

Valerie, that is so good of you to save those garter snakes. They are wonderful little vermin catchers for the farm. One of them scared me in the laundry room one day and DH kept my phone message telling him to hurry back and find the thing. He thinks it's funny of course.

Diane Sue, I wouldn't want snakes slithering around above me either. I am so glad I am not allergic to much of anything. I would miss all the fruit I put in my smoothies.

Lori, I bet the ladies want to get back in shape for spring and summer. Sleeveless dresses, bikinis, crop tops and bare legs--yes!

I have been totally creeped out by this long article in The New Yorker from last week by Gay Talese about a man who bought a motel specifically so he could create a secret voyeuristic watching place over several of the rooms. This went on for almost 40 years before he gave Talese permission to quote the journal he kept on what he observed or even to write about him. Since he is now 78 and no longer owns the motel, he figures the statute of limitations has run out on whatever crimes he was committing by his violation of people's privacy. Talese will be publishing a whole book about him later this year. Weird, weird, weird!!
