Pentagenarians & Beyond: W/B 3/7

Today I did CDorner Step and Strength cardio and arms (interval workout from 1 day ago) 49 minutes(47 actual), I wore my Fitbit Blaze and what a difference. I felt rewarded for all of the sweating and work this time. Wonder if it will stay that way. These things seem to work at the onset then drop off. 247 calories, heart rate 128/171, 3,021 steps. The music was fun again today, some Eurythmics in this one, some semi familiar tunes. Not much time again this morning. My grandson had some more testing for reading and they are moving him up into a higher level reading class. I am moving the first week it all starts and the first zoom days. Not sure how this will work out. I would like to be here to help him get settled in to a whole new routine and level. I had an electrician out today also and he will be back next week as he had to order a couple of breakers for our switch box in the garage. Not much packing got done today. The whole day has been kind of off. But, I did get started with a workout this time :)

Carolyn, I have talked to them at Fitbit several times and they have sent me suggestions. There is a whole group there with the same complaints. I was amazed at how quickly the Blaze picked up on the heart rate today. I usually waste so much time trying to adjust my Versa to get it to pick up at all from resting heart rate. I think I am going to ignore the Versa till I am done and then happen to see my heart rate is in the 80's while I am sweating and breathing hard and it really irritates me. It seems every time I do Supercuts I do not go back to it for a long time. I kind of forget what it is like I guess.

Valerie, nice that you had sunshine to be out in today. It has been raining a bit here today and I gather through the weekend. That terrible hard freeze sure did a lot to plants around here. Even our evergreen shrubs are brown and wondering if they will come back. I am betting my endless summer hydrangea does not come back. I saw a few geese wandering around the other day.

Cathy, I remember an area in Nebraska where the cranes would come and a lot of people just took drives out there to see them. We went to visit my Dad and he took us for the drive. I think my husband thought it was kind of funny to go out to look at birds. I don't get the music thing because some streaming people and you tubes use real music. Not the stuff that is played on a lot of the dvds. So, sometimes I wonder. I could see maybe for dvd production, but then again, will they start blocking or making instructors pay to use the music for all streaming and online workouts? CDorner (Chris) workouts are free. She has a lot. My Blaze made me feel so much better about working out.

This morning I did Cardio Boxing and Stability Ball Abs. Fun workout and Amanda is in that one and looking amazing as usual. She also have really great technique for boxing and not everyone who is in Cathe's kickboxing type workouts does. Playing catch up today on stuff that didn't get done around the house while I was gone.

Diane Sue, I think it has to do with the cost of using copyrighted songs for the DVD's. I'm kind of surprised people are getting away with using it for free stuff. My son has gotten warnings for stuff he posted on both FB and YouTube that were simply put there for viewing by friends saying that he was violating copyright laws. And I know some you tubers have had their stuff blocked because of it when they were benefiting from ad revenue. I know there is a place in Nebraska that is a huge migration spot for the cranes. I've known people who have gone down there. We have them in the 10,000's here in spring and fall. They are loud and cool to watch when they are flying around and landing in their parachute type way.

Quick check in and I am back to packing. I did Coffey Fit Raw Hi/Lo Step, 39 minutes, heart rate 141/165, 239 calories, 3,537 steps. I used my Fitbit Blaze again. Better than previous workouts with the Versa 2 which had it at 162 calories, and heart rate 110/153 steps were about the same. I also did CDorner Yoga Flpw stretch that she did with I think her niece Kaitlin. This was good, pretty much regular yoga moves after loosening up and she does some stuff with hands at the end, 38 minutes (actual is shorter as my husband came up talking to me), heart rate 85/121, 47 calories, 124 steps.

This morning I did Pyramid Lower Body, up only premix. That was 42 minutes and 136 calories burned. Average heart rate was 102 and 150 maximum heart rate. The dreaded stability ball roll ins got me. The floor work with the ball is the only part of this workout that I dislike, but I do it because the exercises are great for the lower body.

Cathy, nice job with Cardio Boxing and Stability Ball Abs. Music is much more complicated these days. I understand the reason for limits since the artists loose money when people use their music for free, but it is limiting.

Diane Sue, I’m glad that the Blaze is more accurate for you. I wonder if the new Versa 3 fixes the problems with the previous version. Great job with your workouts.

Have a wonderful day everyone.

went to MT today. 10.5 hrs driving. tired! easy drive though minima traffic and dry and sunny all the way.

sand hills are so cool! you can hear them often when you cant see them. they blend into the tan background really well. a little early for them here in MT. they stay longer than they used to. we might see them here next month, but still pretty much winter here. we always look but it doesn't look like much spring migration here. no excercise today except sitting and driving
