Good morning,

Agility class yesterday.

Judy, I Googled Peloton, and what I found was that it is a brand of spin bike with some different features. As for the Peloton ride for Roswell, it is some special ride the night before the real ride that has a police escort. Maybe at some time Peloton sponsored it.

Valerie, thanks for the link! I will certainly look into those. John likes his seat, so no way we can replace with something more comfortable for me. A cover would be ideal. Yes, I believe heartworm is mosquito borne. Supposedly the northeast is a low carrying area, same I believe as the northwest. I am still conflicted on whether to use the preventative treatment ( with all its scary side effects) or not.

Diane Sue, I hope Gertie is better today.

Carolyn, good job on the workouts! I think I will try to access Prime with my phone. I have it on my iPad all set up with an icon on my desktop, no password needed. etc. Not sure if I can have it working or open on 2 devices at the same time, but I will try.

Lori, I hope the storm is not as bad as they may have made it sound...good that your son is going to be there with you.

Take care,

We lucked out on this latest storm. we are north and west of the problems. I don't think we will be making it to MT until things thaw out. right now, it's very cold and a lot of snow. we have been there before when temps were in the minus numbers, like -15, not pleasant or fun. to stay warm enough you need to be so layered up you can hardly move. it's really nice here now, like most of january. . sunny, dry and spring like. not sure I want to drive to cold and snow. if it was dismal grey and raining, I d be more enthused.

Deb the incidence map is from 2013. I would think vets are updated on changes in disease incidence in their geographic areas, and from communications with other vets. also consider areas you travel to with the dogs. my brothers dog is in the same color coded area as we are, Wisconsin. I don't know exactly where he got the dog. possibly from Illinois, neighboring state with a slightly higher incidence. my brother doesn't get his animals vaccinated, mainly he doesn't want to spend the money. when his dog was diagnosed, he had to pay for treatment. dog was way overweight, gasping, coughing, and wheezing. I have no idea if he is still alive. a nice dog ( a Golden) in bad health for a young dog.

another thought is padded underwear or padded bike shorts. I usually wear road biking but we are talking about 2+ hours. for 10 min it hardly seems worth it. if you end up using the bike regularly, it might help. the seat cover I used was gel, and slipped right onto the seat with a draw cord. went on and off in 2 seconds. long time ago but it made less friction and pressure.

I hope you all weather the latest storm well. this has been a bad year.

Today is a rest day for me. I hope everyone is doing okay with this lastest winter storm. We had a beautiful 60 degree day yesterday but now we are under a tornado watch. Today is stormy weather and it will be cold again tomorrow. This is the never ending, unpredictable winter.

Waving hello to everyone.

Good evening all,

Yesterday I did a LEKfit Bounce with both upper and leg intervals. Today was another LEKfit bounce with both intervals and then I added on Rock ‘m Sock ‘m to get in one of the last 3 workouts of the rotation I missed.

We had snow Friday night and as I mentioned this morning more to come. Not lookimg forward to the morning. Not going to be pretty.

Deb...I have a cover for my spin bike seat for my husband. Easy to put on and take off. We do not use our spin bike as much as we should. I try every now and then but my motivation dies quickly. This is the only piece of equipment I kind of regret buying. So sorry now you are having PT for your knee too. Fingers crossed you get thru all this quickly. Been going on too long now.

Valerie...that party sounded like so much fun! What a great time. We loved Bohemian Rhapsody. Not surprised he won best actor. I think it should have won Best Movie too, but I heard there is a controversy with the director so that ended their chance there. We have Green Book but have not watched it yet. A star is born was great. Loved Lady Gaga in this. When she first came on the scene I did not care for her too much. But through the years I have come to respect and love her. Her voice is so powerful and she does a lot of good for communities. I am really liking Claire Foy...very impressed with her performance of Lisbeth Salander in The Girl In The Spiders Web. What a transformation from The Crown. So far loving our Air Fryer. We ended up with the Cosori 5.8qt and it is the perfect size. Tonight I made salmon with an organic honey mustard glaze. Wow was it good. My husband is not a huge salmon fan so good night to make it since he is not home. Brussel sprouts are amazing too. Believe it or not we have tried fresh and frozen and we prefer frozen. So far this has been a great purchase for us.

Diane Sue...very interesting about probiotics. Going to research this too. Who knew? Thanks for info on Collegan. I think of you as our expert on that subject. I loved the Deadpool movies. I also love everything witches and vampires. Especiallly vampires!! My husband just rolls his eyes. A funny note...I am a huge Abe Lincoln fan. Love this man and read everything I can about him. A while ago a movie came out called Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter. Well I was all over that!! Win win for me. My husband of course had no desire to see it. Hehehe.

Carolyn...I have seen 1/2 of Black Panther. Seems like everytime we try and watch it we get interrupted. I liked what we saw and really want to get back to it. My husband is not in to these superhero animated scifi so he has to be in the mood to watch.

Judy...some great workouts...you deserved a rest over the weekend. Glad training is going well. Don’t you hate sitting so long on a computer. I love that my apple watch tells me to stand every few hours. It reminds me I have been sitting a while. I then get up and make it a point to walk around the office. I just upgraded my Ipad Pro for the newest version. It will be in tomorrow and I am looking forward to it. I needed more memory with all the video editing I do so just made sense to bite the bullet and do it.

Have a great night all!

Deb-I hope your hip and knee are getting better. I'm sorry that you are still going through this.

Carolyn-I hope that you were not in the area of the tornadoes and that you still have power.

Lori-I do hate sitting in front of the computer for that long. That's exciting that you are getting the latest iPad Pro! I can't wait to hear what you think of it.

Hi to Valerie & Diane Sue!

Have a good night,

Judy

Today was a rest day. It is really cold here. Right now it is at 15 degrees and was icy when we went out this morning. I have spent the afternoon bathing Gertie with special shampoo and making some soup for this week.

Deb, I purchased a padded seat cover for my spin bike that helped. I don't think I would want to have to take it off and on often though as it needs adjusted and tied on. I ordered Gertie new food and today I just cooked her up ground turkey breast and mixed it with a spoon of pumpkin and a spoon of canned I Love and You Turkey grain free dog food which I use off and on to mix into her dog food instead of pumpkin or broth. I need to save my own broth or really read labels to avoid buying ones with sugar, garlic, and onions added to them. Since I did change the food a bit I am going back to limited ingredient Salmon dog food. The one I bought was still from the company that made the Blue Basic Limited Ingredient , but was Blue Wilderness grain free salmon. I am just checking to make sure the food hasn't caused some issues. She seems happy, and not scratching.

Carolyn, I hope that you had a nice rest day. I do not like those tornado warnings and watches. That is one thing that I do not look forward to in spring time. Stay safe.

Valerie, good idea with the padded bike shorts.

Lori, I had to laugh about the Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter. He would probably be in shock. :) I don't care for vampires or zombies. I avoid those movies. We watch the Walt Disney Story movie today. Pretty interesting about Mary Poppins.
I spent some time today researching astralgus. I read an article about it helping with a certain part of the immune function that can work to help with auto immune diseases and many other things. But, I am not sure about it. This article said it can be used to possibly work to boost immunity without causing a problem with Rheumatoid arthritis and not mess with the autoimmune problem. I think that was based on a small study. I went to read the medical analysis on it which was hard to understand. Most health experts say it is best to avoid it if you have RA. It is just that I saw the article and wondered why it was not mentioned on the Arthritis foundation natural methods to help. Also, I drink Four Sigmatic coffees and elixers quite a bit and I had picked up some with ashwagandha and tulsi in them and apparently they also have a astralgus and tulsi, or they are changing to ashwagandha. Anyway, I have several packets of each as the packages are colored the same. Astralgus is supposed to be great for immunity, blood sugar, and a host of things. I picked up the Culturelle probiotic when I went to Walmart. I always wondered when they give a list of different probiotics and which ones to get, why I needed to read the list. Now I am learning. I have also read that you can get too many of them. My daughter had went to Colorado for one of her medical convention things and ate in a restaurant and got food poisoning. Even after all of it she kept have intestinal problems and pain. She went to a doctor for it and finally started taking probiotics thinking that would help. After 3 months she quit the probiotics and the pain went away. Interesting to know since there is so much of probiotics added to stuff.

Good morning,

No workout yesterday.

Valerie, I can understand why you would not want to go to MT just yet. Good that the storm etc where you are avoided your area. I have an incidence map from 2016...and you can purchase them for 2017, the latest that I can find. No need to purchase if you increase the size and look at the colors for your state. I think I may go with the half year protocol, only give when mosquitos are out in our area, then stop for the winter months. It may mean getting IKE tested again if I delay putting him on until they recommend...also may need to test Kylee again. I need to speak with the vet. I like the seat cover idea the best.

Carolyn, read in today's paper that there were a lot of tornados in the southeast. I hope they bypassed your area.

Lori, did you get the snow they predicted? This has been a bad winter for most of the country! I feel the same way about the bike as a cardio option. Maybe if it was a spin bike, but I don't really thing that would matter much. I love my treadmill, but anything else is just "meh". I gave my elliptical to my cousin, gave away a Nordic Track to a Cathlete in the area. Did you do the brussel sprouts in the air fryer?

Diane Sue, it sounds like the bath may have helped Gertie a lot. Not sure the cost, but there is a vet called Dr Dodd that has a way for you to send in to get a food sensitivity report for your dog. I have heard good things about her. Keegan's breeder followed her advice a lot.

Judy, what is your weather going to be by Thursday? Looking to try to predict what we will have here Friday...that is usually what you have the day before. :)

Take care,

Deb-I love the photo! Kylee & Ike are adorable!
It's very cold here this morning. We might get some snow today and tomorrow but it looks clear on Thursday.

This morning I did Cardio Slam, the premix with low impact modifications. That was 49 minutes and 351 calories burned. My average heart rate was 130 and maximum heart rate was 149.

The tornadoes hit areas southwest of us where some communities are totally devastated. We had a lot of rain, but fortunately no storms here.

Lori, that’s great that you got a new iPad Pro. With all that do on it you need the latest technology. I see that you are getting a big blast of winter.

Hello to everyone and wishing you a safe and warm day.

I am really getting done late with my workout. I spent so much time trying to find my workout sheets for Supreme 90 Day workouts and I couldn't find the chart, but I saw it online. Anyway, I started with Lite Cardio Party time saver mix #2 Blast + Calorie Crush, 32 minutes, heart rate average 149, max 184, met 8.40, 225 calories, 2,900 steps. I then did Supreme 90 Day Back and Biceps , heart rate average 102, max 155, 315 calories, met 6.0, 749 steps. I forgot how tough these are. I hope I did not push too hard. I chose this one to start out without shoulders, but I felt it in my shoulders somewhat anyway. I couldn't find that I had something printed out for Legs though. I made the worksheets when I did this years ago. I loaned them out and only recently had them returned so that may be where the booklet and chart went.

Debbie, I love the picture of your doggies. They are so cute!. I may check out Dr Dodd. I have read everything I can think of and looked at pictures and the only thing I can come up with is an allergic reaction. The skin underneath is not red, I don't see a rash anywhere. It is rather strange. No bugs. I have worn my readers and held up a magnifying glass to see if I am missing something. As long as it does not worsen, I will keep doing what I have been and see how the limited ingredient dog food change back makes a difference. I gave her a tiny bit of chicken this morning till her new food came and then fed her. She has no problem with me brushing her or anything so messing with her does not bother her. I keep looking for any bumps, but none of those have shown up again. I used to skip flea and tick meds during the freezing months of the year till my vet told me there are still fleas and ticks out there. So, I don't know how it would be for heart worm medication. Then losing Mudd when she was on all of that stuff was disconcerting. It leaves me without much confidence in that stuff. I guess it is better than nothing. LOL Gertie loves getting in the shower. Yesterday I tried to sneak my supplies for her bath and cleaning up after to the bathroom and when I got her towels out of the hall cabinet, she jumped up and ran for the bathroom. I usually send her outside first so she can dry out without a trip outdoors and while out I collect some cookies for afterward. She is a hoot sometimes. She just runs in and gets in the shower.

Judy, it is very cold here too. 9 degrees when I got up this morning. Right now it has reached 21.

Carolyn, nice workout today. I am glad that the tornados missed your area. So sad for the areas that end up with the devastation.

Did a 2 1/2 hour hike near the water this morning. a beautiful spring day but cold, 35 or so to start. still, sunny and pleasant as the morning went on. really felt nice. it's a fun way to work.

Lori enjoy your updated ipad. you will probably get great use out of it. too funny... I have never ever gotten thru a vampire movie, ever. anything with witches or vampires I jettison immediately. so I am sitting on the sofa with your husband rolling my eyes! I have many of the award winning movies on my Netflix queue. dvds come out faster than anything gets to streaming. I loved (!!) clair foy in The Crown. I am not sure if I saw the other movie. I saw several from the series but don't remember her in one of them. I will have to check that one out.
We saw Free Solo ( best documentary) at the theater, but except for the climbing sequences there is not a lot to it. sequences interspersed thru the film, but most right at the end. the man accomplishes an amazing feat but he and his girlfriend and mother are not all that interesting to interview. He climbs the rock face of el cap in Yosemite without any ropes or assistance. just right up this vertical rock face for >3000 feet straight up, like a spider on a wall. it is an amazing, incredible feat. I have no clue how anyone could control their fear and emotion thru something like that. unfortunately someday he will most likely misjudge. bold aggressive climbers have short lives.

Deb that is a darling pic. they are so cute! I did something similar and skipped flea treatment on our kitties during the winter. usually 3- 4 months. our dog we treated all year, he since occasionally went to a kennel during winter months. I wanted him protected all year. I am the one who attracts fleas! if there is a flea anywhere, it will bite me and I am allergic to their bites and get nasty long lasting sores. our kitties never were flea magnets, and never went to kennels. kitties usually don't mix socially like dogs do.
sometimes they looked like they felt less than 100% after vaccinations for a day, but the disease prevention is worth that slight discomfort. Do dogs need to be a certain age before they get certain immunizations? we had our dog only as an adult, I never had a puppy.

Carolyn, fortunate you avoided the worst of the storms. tornados really scare me to death.

Good morning,

PT exercises yesterday

Carolyn, Good job on Cardio Slam. I like that Cathe did that low impact premix. I wish she would do that with more of her cardio workouts. Glad your area did not get hit by the storms.

Diane Sue, I don't think I would have looked around so much for workout sheets, that would make me decide to not to a workout at all! It sounds like whatever caused Gertie's problem must have dissipated. Dr Dodd is know for determining food sensitivities. Not sure about other things like meds, or topical stuff. Kylee "puts up with" a bath but she sure does not run to get into the tub!

Valerie, that sounds like a great hike, even though it was cold. I don't mind the cold at all, if it's sunny, its the wind, snow or rain that I hate. I'm with you on the vampire/witch movies. :). Yes, puppies ( IMO) should not be overloaded with vaccinations. I waited until Ike was 7 months old to get his rabies shot. Also, I never get more than 1 vaccination at a time. The only thing that I was told is ok to mix would be a vaccination with the kennel cough stuff, because that is given nasally, not with a shot. We usually do flea stuff all year, because of how much time we spend training at the dog club. This winter I have not done any because Ike loves to bite Kylee's neck when they play and I don't want him ingesting that pesticide that we use on them for fleas. It has been so cold that we really have not had a problem this winter. Not sure what I will do in spring. I usually put it on them at night so they have 6 or so hours apart, no licking or biting each other.

Lori, I missed that you were upgrading your iPad! Have fun. :)

Judy, thanks for the weather stats. It looks like it will be ok to drive on Friday.

Take care,

With kitties, the only safe spot for meds is the back of the neck. I swear, cats can tie themselves in knots to get at anything that annoys them. I sure miss my kitty. I'd love to get another but I don't like the idea of traveling with one so we still are stalled. we have to decide today if we want to do the mt drive. our driveway might be blocked with snow. we can look with the remote camera but we can see there is snow, but not how deep it is. if its too deep we will need it plowed or we won't get thru the driveway, and that would need to happen right before we get there. complicated timing. the entire area has had terrible weather. it was -46 near there the other night. I cant imagine how cold that must feel. temps varied widely over the state as does the snow pack depth but it has been a rough winter starting in Feb and continuing still.

we have another beautiful day so we will try mountain biking later this morning after it warms up a little. we didn't want to do the long drive to the park we rode at a few days ago so will try the local tree farm and hope enough snow has melted. maybe the roads are OK. we will skip any trails since its too hard to see ice patches and I don't want any surprises. it hasn't rained and has been cold at night so the snow is still sticking around in places where the sun doesn't shine.

Today I did Muscle Max, the timesaver premix (actual time 56 minutes). My time was 63 minutes with 319 calories burned. My average heart rate was 115 and maximum heart rate was 165. The timesaver omits the second round of some exercises. I love doing the full Muscle Max, but I needed to get out of the house for an appointment today.

Deb, I use the low impact modifications with other Cathe workouts when I need to. I’m glad that she added that premix to Cardio Slam so that we can see her doing the modifications.

Valerie, Montana weather has been pretty intense recently. It’s smart to stay put and enjoy what you have. Hopefully it will get better soon so that you can travel.

Diane Sue, great job with that Supreme 90 Day Back and Biceps. It looks like a very tough workout. I wouldn’t even attempt the plank dumbbell rows!

Hello to Lori and Judy.

This morning I did Coffey Fit Raw Intervals #1, 33 minutes, met 7.0, heart rate average 126, max 176, 251 calories, 2,078 steps. The sun is out today and I think it might get over freezing today :)

Valerie, nice that you got out for a hike and the weather was decent. I don't even know who half of the stars in movies are anymore. I remember buying a movie with Arnold Schwartzenager (sp) called Maggie, because we always liked his movies. It was the worst movie ever. If we could delete it off our movies that we purchased and I had used ultra violet to put on Vudu before watching, we would. It ended up being a zombie movie with not real plot and a really bad ending. I couldn't even get some of the grandchildren to take the dvd. We have learned that star names do not necessarily mean a good movie.
I have found it interesting that Frontline Gold has you put it on the dog from shoulders all the way to the tail. I saw others mention this online, because I wondered about it. The Frontline Plus always had you put it between the shoulder blades. This last time when the stuff kind of ran down her sides while trying to apply it really worried me. Then she had this reaction to something.
-46 is too cold for me!! I don't think I could bundle up enough to feel warm in that.

Carolyn, I am glad there are more premixes with low impact options. I don't use them all of the time, but sometimes I feel it is needed. After I started that workout I thought to myself, had I remembered plank rows, I might not have done it. That is one of those moves I do not care for. The time savers sure come in handy at times.

we are delaying our trip for a generous 2 weeks. too hard to get things set right, and that is too cold to be fun. temps moderated a little but now more snow is coming. too long a drive for marginal conditions. the -46 was not a number hyped by wind chill. it set a record. you can hardly move if you are bundled up enough, exposed flesh will freeze quickly so even your face needs cover.
we do not know if our driveway will be clear and it would be stupid to park outside. we expect we will have to get driveway plowed before we get there. it was our fault for not going in January but it was so nice here it seemed a shame to go. feb has been awful .

we went mt biking this morning. about 6 miles, 90 min. a lot of elevation gain. it is pretty cold for this even tho sunny and not windy. snow and ice around in the trees so we stuck to the gravel roads. very nice!

I used to wonder how cable TV had awful movies. streaming is not much different. they find movies no one would watch, just to fill air time. then throw in a decent one occasionally. a well known star is definitely no guarantee. you wonder how they agreed to even be in it! I usually read online reviews of movies and series if I can find them. it saves you from wasting an evening sometimes. there are categories I don't enjoy, like animated, vampires, musicals.

Good evening ladies,

Yesterday was To The Matt Legs and Glutes and today was Metabolic Blast. I am officially done with the rotation! Took me longer than anticiapted but I am done.

So far I like the new Ipad. It is a little more compact than my previous Pro. The sceen size is bigger, but overall demensions are about an inch smaller. I have more memory which will make things so much easier for me. Needed the space due to all the video stuff I do.

Diane Sue...it is really cold here too. I am sure Abe is rolling in his grave...funny I like witches and vampires but do not like any kind of zombie movies. I can tolorate them in Game Of Thrones but that is the only time. I would love to watch that Walt Disney movie. I have not seen Mary Poppins Returns yet but as soon as it is released I will be grabbing it. I miss Suzanne. I still do her workouts but miss her presence. Just yesterday someone asked about new workouts on her FB and then the admin turned off comments. I think I mentioned this drives me crazy. When my membership is up I will not renew unless she is back on board. I would stay with my membership and support her if they were more willing with information. Perhaps an update every now and then. But how they are handling things sends me in a tizzy. I wish her the best and hope she is ok and can get through whatever it is she has going on.

Deb...yes we got the snow. About 10 inches and it has been so cold. GiGi loves the snow. She must have been playing all day at daycare in it today. It is 7:30 and she is out!! I love that we can do this for her. :). Your doggies are adorable! I love the picture! My husband has an eliptical that he used to use but completely lost interest over the years. I do not like using one at all. It makes a great clothes hanger though! :). Yes brussel sprouts in the air fryer. They were delicious. I just made some more honey mustard salmon tonight for lunch tomorrow. This weekend I am making an organic cheesecake in my instant pot. I never cooked like this before. Hated it actually. My husband asked recently..who are you and what have you done with my wife??!!

Carolyn...glad you were out of harms way. Sounds terrible with those tornadoes. Very sad. Yes it made complete sense to upgrade. I should be good for a while now. I need to look at Muscle Max. I am sure I could make some great premixes.

Valerie...the Spider movie Clair Foy was in is the 4th movie in the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. What a complete transformation from the Crown. I think she is an amazing actress. I read all the books so bought the movie as soon as it came out. She did not disappoint. Yeah my husband could care less!! I can see why you delayed your trip.

Judy...hope the training is still continuing to go well!

Have a great night all!!
