Good morning!

Today I did Beach Body Total Body Cardio Fix.

Still very cold here but a lot of wonderful sunshine. Love it! :)

Valerie, no personal info on the laptop, just a name and an x-ray. Not sure what anyone would, or could do with that. I think the script pad being out there is more of a concern. We'll see I guess. As for the bars, I agree, there is no "perfect" bar out there. Since you probably don't eat them that frequently, get what tastes good and has the least sugar. That is what I would do.

Everyone must be having a busy weekend! Lots of HouseMax for me!

Take care,

Deb I'm just trying to humor him on the "soy" thing.... It's a minor ingredient in most bars and he eats ( maybe) a couple bars in a week. when we have Asian food though, he dumps on a load of soy sauce. there is a tablespoon in the whole recipe, he adds at least that much to his serving. I can see where that much might cause a problem, compared to a couple particles of some soy fragments in a bar. He has not had a headache now in a while. he is not drinking any caffeine. I think that's where the problem lies. I thought the Kind bars....dried fruit and nuts...were yummy. Any bar labeled "protein" tastes very funny to me. Hope nothing else comes of the break in.

some garden max yesterday. going out with cousin & wife to walk in a nearby park and then out for an early dinner. .

Hi Deb, Josie, Valerie, Lori, and Judy--

This morning I did BarreAmped Bootcamp (72:00).

Deb, that is worrisome. Any ideas about why someone would break into a dentist's office? Is the Beach Body Total Body Cardio Fix a part of the 21 day plan you are on? We had some snow yesterday as well. This is getting really tiresome. At least the sun is out today.

My DH likes his soy sauce too, but he doesn't get migraines. I, on the other hand, add chili-garlic sauce to my stir-fry dishes because I like HOT!

Sounds like a German theme for our dinner tonight--pork shanks, schnitzel, Black Forest cake.

Enjoy the rest of the weekend!

Good evening ladies!

No workout today. We had a handyman come over today to fix somethings my DH and I are just not able to get to. He did a great job and we will have him back again as he is one of those jack of all trades...but did not care that he was almost 2 hours late! I could have got my workout in! Oh well. Next time I will know.

Deb...that is terrible about John's office and laptop. And the script pad. Very scary indeed. I hear the 21 day fix workouts are pretty good. I remember you liking them too when you did your first round.

Lynda...was very nice today. We still have a ton of snow in the yard. Well take a lot of warmer days to get rid of it completely. Enjoy your german meal!

Hi to valeries, josie, judy and steph!

Hi Everyone,

Not much going on this weekend here. Lots of cleaning and organizing. I did one of KCM's ab workouts last night and went for a short walk today. I think my leg/hip is finally starting to feel better after a week of not doing much. I'd like to get back to some weight training this week, but will probably stay away from biking or running another week.

Deb-sorry about John's laptop and script pad :( that is scary.

Valerie-we have the REI Visa too and shop there all the time. It's only a mile or so from us so we are in there at least once a week. We try to get everything that we can from REI because of the annual dividend. They are really good about special ordering items for us and we can order online and have things shipped to the store too.

Hi to Lori, Josie, Lynda & Steph!

Judy

Good morning, & Happy Monday!

A little warmer today, but probably will come with rain. :) It very windy and was like that all night.

Valerie, I think the soy amount in the bars would be ok, especially since he eats so few, Now the amount in the food, is another thing, LOL. Hope you had a nice walk and a nice dinner!

Lynda, How was dinner? John thinks it was a patient, (no one in particular) but the laptop and script pad are right with the hygienist, and if there was someone that wanted it, they would know exactly where to go in a hurry. The only reason he thinks that, is that nothing else was even looked at. There was cash in a drawer in the office area, that apparently they did not even go into. Very strange. Yes, all the Beach Body workouts are from the Beach Body 21 Day Fix program that I did a while ago. It's the one with the containers that are supposed to help you keep to a certain calorie intake each day. I am not doing that part this time, just the workouts.

Lori, if you can get a person like that to come and fix things, you are very lucky! There are not many of those around any more, especially to come out on a weekend.

Judy, glad you are on the mend, but agree, you should probably wait a little more before going back to the weight workouts.

HI to Josie,

Mani/pedi this morning, then more organizing. You are probably sick of me saying that. It was a lot worse than I thought, :)

Take care,

Judy that is too funny... I would be broke if I lived within a mile of an REI store! regarding the hip issue .... if it hurts, don't do it. I am still paying the price for over doing. restart gradually and wait a day to see if it reactivates. I'd never had a shoulder issue before, but this was a wake up call to pay attention to what body parts are trying to tell you. my shoulder is slowly becoming less bothersome but it's still there. I

we went for a beach walk and then out to dinner to a Thai place with cousin & wife yesterday for my birthday. today is actually the :"big day". 67. Time marches on. so DH and I will go do a bike ride to celebrate.

Deb, I'd be on hyper-alert for a while, monitoring your credit cards and bank accounts for any unusual activity. could the local PD give you ideas about what to watch for? any passwords that might be accessed? seems like a lot of risk to break in and take so little. maybe just an amateur? I guess you are lucky there wasn't a whole lot of personal data or patient info on the laptop. maybe all they wanted was the laptop itself.

Hi Ladies,

No workout yesterday, it was my day off. My peanuts are arriving today to spend Easter vacation with me so, I need to go to the market to stock up because they are hungry all the time. They are now 10 and 7 :).

My DH left yesterday on his cross country trip that will take him 6 weeks. He called me from Phoenix and said that it was long and he already is missing me :)

Deb, I hope that they catch whoever stole the lap top and the scrip pad. It's sad that we ave to keep everything locked up.

Valerie, Happy Birthday!! Have a wonderful day. I also do something physical to celebrate my birthday. My spinning place gives us a free class and my coffee shop gives us a free specialty coffee too.

Lorie and Garance, glad that the weather is getting better for the both of you.

Judy, glad that you are feeling better. I agree with Valerie, just take it slow

Josie.

Hi Deb, Josie, Valerie, Lori, and Judy--

This morning I did both low impact workouts (50:08).

Happy birthday, Valerie! Hope you had a HOT Thai meal for yourself last night.

Alas, Josie, it was snowing this morning. It won't last, but it is discouraging. Yesterday was beautiful and sunny, but today it's back to the major drearies. I hope your peanuts are well and you don't catch anything from them. I assume your DH has several places he wants to stop along the way. Any reason why you didn't go along for the ride?

Judy, that's good news about your hip. Are you still planning on getting an MRI, or just being content with feeling better?

Lori, we still have a ton of snow to melt up on our mountain. When I go down to town, it's like going from winter to spring in terms of the snow melt.

Deb, the meal was great. I especially liked the shank with the spaetzle. DH's schnitzel was tender, but mine was kind of tough. DH thought it was the cut of meat being used. I also think when I make it, DH pounds the cutlets out better.

Good evening ladies!

Happy Birthday Valerie!!! Hope you had a great day today!!!

Today the ladies and I did a band workout that I found on YouTube. They liked it and we were done in 30 minutes. My shoulder was bothering me today (has been a while since it flared up). They are all nervous that I will not be able to workout. Kind of cute. One of the girls has 21 day fix but has not started it. I mentioned to them a woman (Deb) on my forums enjoyed the plan/workouts. One thing led to another and we all bought the containers on Amazon and we are planning to start next week sometime. She will share the meal plan and we are going to attempt to do the workouts at lunch. Should be fun supporting each other. Funny how a year or so ago everyone thought I was obsessed about health and working out...now they are all joining me. I am easily at least 12 to 15 years older than them and I am loving this! :)

Deb...the handyman is someone that use to fix stuff at my DH's restaurant. He is really cheap and did a great job. I agree they are few and far in between. We will have him back when the snow melts to put up a fence. I was planning to do myself but decided to let him!

Lynda...I am not familiar with German but your meal sounds great. It snowed all day on Saturday here and we ended up with a couple of inches. Today when I went to leave for work this morning more snow. It has been such a miserable winter. Great job with the low impact. I have not done the double premix.

Judy...glad you are on the mend. By the sounds of it glad there is not an REI that close to me! I think I would be in trouble.

Josie...have fun with the grandkids. Nice you will have them for Easter. I just made plans to go out for Easter Brunch with my DH, DS and his GF. Will be nice just the 4 of us.

Have a great night all!

Had a lovely day with some nice presents from DH. the new gaiters. some bicycle parts. 2 t shirts. new pfd to replace the one that got stolen while on our last trip.
we did a 25 mile ride in fast time. unexpectedly nice day. caught up on some maintenance chores we need to do tomorrow, like get tires rotated, and new batteries for the camper.
I don't remember schnitzel, but spaetzel? are those curly, home made noodles pushed thru a press? I'm sure my mother made those. I never liked german food although I was raised on it. my grandmother overdid the sauerkraut. I remember them being good but don't remember the seasoning. Talked to my mother and sister too. .

I might get a few more freebies for my birthday.. will see when I go shopping this week. starbucks usually has something. we have a rainy week ahead.
Josie, have a great time with the grandkids.
Lori show the "youngsters" how it's done.
Judy, maybe you're done with this problem, but be careful not to over do until you're sure.

Good morning,

Still cold and wintery here. It snowed again yesterday, big fat flakes like a blizzard for about a half an hour. It didn't stay though, good thing.

Valerie Happy Birthday! Yes, you "cleaned up" with the gifts! LOL. I don't think there is a need to worry about credit cards, etc. No personal info on the laptop at all.

Josie, have fun with your Peanuts! Did your DH go with a friend? Was this trip one of his "retirement" plans?

Lynda, love pork schnitzel! There was a restaurant about a half mile from here that had the best, but sadly they closed after about 20 years of us going there.

Lori, So great that the ladies at work are looking up to you for their fitness! There is a person on MFP doing the 21 day Fix and she sent me a link to get the logging of the containers for your iPhone. Let me see if I can get it to you. You know who has a great band workout on YouTube is Jessica Smith. She works out with that little white dog next to her, I think it a Boston Terrier. So cute. Her workouts are pretty good too.

Judy, be patient, nothing like having to start a rest for an injury all over again.

Getting a workout in then taking Kylee to be groomed this morning, then starting to get the Easter brunch lists in order.

Take care,

I haven't eaten pork or beef for a long time...must be 35 years now. I don't remember pork schnitzel.. just drawing a blank there. I don't remember what that was. maybe my mother didn't make schnitzel. my grandmother made a lot of really "german" dishes. I got so sick of them I never made or ate any after I left home. I kept thinking of spaetzel and maybe there was a sauce with caraway seeds?

also got some new lenses for my good sunglasses. they are magnetic and pop in and out. one pair of glasses can be used to all kinds of conditions with just an extra set of lenses to carry. also co2 cartridge bike tire inflaters. we have a small pump we carry. but the mess a couple weeks ago was a wake up call that if we are 10 miles into a ride we might need more options. gas stations aren't everywhere like they used to be. We did a 25 mile ride yesterday in fast time. turned out to be a lovely day although it started out cloudy and gray.

Hi Ladies,

Karina is coming over today. Yesterday I did a 25 minute workout that I found on Darebee.com. I have done 4 of their workouts so far and really like them I also love all the information available on the web-site. Deb, the workouts are short, so you might like them.

Garance, my DH has always wanted to do this ride and is one of the things on his bucket list :). He is doing it by himself. I was invited, but I don't like road trips and the most I can take is a trip to Vegas 4.5 hours or a trip to SF.
He will be driving me to SF when I do ALC.

Lori, it's great that you have inspired all those young ladies to get in shape.

Valerie, I agree with Deb, you racked in a lot of great gifts.

Judy, take your tine before starting back on the weights.

Today I'm taking the kids to the train museum.

Josie

Hi Deb, Josie, Valerie, Lori, and Judy--

This morning I did ba, rear delts, bis (52:28).

Valerie, you really cleaned up on your birthday! Yes, spaetzle are a cross between dumplings and noodles. You press the dough through a colander into boiling water. They cook fast and are great with some kind of gravy or melted butter. Schnitzel is a pork cutlet pounded very thin and dipped in egg and seasoned breadcrumbs and quickly fried. I make it with a red cabbage and apple cooked slaw on the side (Rachael Ray has a great recipe for this). I don't like sauerkraut either. I can't think of any cuisine I don't like.

Lori, you should get a salary boost for starting your own "wellness program." Human Resources here at the college has fitness challenges and classes and lunch walks all the time, the rationale being that it will ultimately save on sick days and health insurance. There are very few smokers and the campus is smoke-free, so they also sponsor smoking cessation programs and pay for the patches and gum.

Deb, today is cold, but no snow, and the sun is out, and I am beginning to hear some great bird songs in the morning.

Josie, I'm with you on long road trips. When we drove to the Jersey Shore every year, I dreaded the 6 hours on the Garden State Expressway. If there is a traffic jam I begin to feel claustrophobic too. What's on your bucket list??

Hi to Judy!

I need to look at max after I post this.

too funny...we'd never get to do anything if we didn't put up with long access drives. 1-2 days. I don't like it... who would??, but especially with air travel like it is now, it's hard to haul stuff.
our camper covers a lot of "iffy" situations but it's not as flexible and agile as a car. we used to car camp using a tent but there are so many incredibly rude people camping that I don't think I could do it in a tent anymore. loud, generators, smoke, packed campgrounds. It used to be kind of a lonely activity but as the crowds got worse, we kept upgrading our vehicle until we are to "truck camper" now. don't plan to go to Winnebago or 5th wheel but a hard sided camper shuts out a lot of noise, smoke, and chaos.
No way to go where I want to go and stay in motels/hotels.... they're too long a commute. we used to fly places and carry tent, boots, camp stoves etc but you can't do that easily anymore. I remember renting a van and taking out the seats so we could sleep in it, and having the rent- a- car people just fine with storing the seats for us!
we are planning our adventures for this year right now.
