Good morning,

Starting back today, maybe with the easier Fit Tower workouts. Not sure yet. I don't want to use my side too much, it still hurts somewhat.

Valerie, I really like the Kind bars too, only for a snack though. I bought the boxes. The bars seem larger for some reason, they are square instead of a long rectangle...if that makes sense. I can understand how all those new appliances, furnace, water heater etc could be overwhelming to learn at one time.

Diane Sue, I hope you feel better today. Maybe a stomach flu or virus? Out of all the bought bars, I have liked Kind the best.

Judy, thanks for the link!

Carolyn, it seems like every store I shop in, whether a grocery store, drugstore, pet store has a card that we use. I like the Rite Aid card, you get points for everything except prescriptions, and you get money back One time I was in there purchasing, and I got $16 back towards my purchase. I was totally surprised. I never got any coupons etc in the mail though for what I have purchased. :(.

Hi to Lori...

Take care,

Good morning ladies!

Friday I did a SB Upper and Lower Compound workout followed up with a Lekfit bounce. 55 mins / 350 cal. Yesterdays workout was a lot of fun. I started off with the first 2 sections of Cathe’s new Live workout, Cardio, Barre, Core Meltdown. I did the Cardio and Barre completely on my larger Jumpsport and used 1.5lb ankle weights. Loved it. I then did a new Bellicon Bounce called Bounce Burn and a Lekfit cool down and stretch. The bellicon bounce was with strength intervals. Total time was 81 mins / 725 cal. Not sure what the workout will be today.

I am watching the news right now about yesterdays march and I am still so emotional about this. Listening to our children talk about fearing for their lives when they go to school. I am proud of our youth for starting this movement.

We finished our table. I will post pictures this afternoon when I sign into my laptop. Wish we could post from Ipads!

Deb...good idea to start with a Fit Tower workout. They are very effective yet gentle on your joints. Take it slow though. The past storm was hardly anything. Maybe 4 inches. Piece of cake for us! Very happy that it did not hit as hard as they were saying.

Diane Sue...great to use the rebounder for some of the Zcut moves. I love subbing in the rebounder for some moves. Mixes things up for me and makes an older workout seem fresh.

Judy...the Drop Sets dvds arrived yesterday. I have converted and quickly looked at. Is there a rotation of some sort? Or just alternate upper and lower. They look great. Very straight forward. I like her personality so I know I will like these. Looking at SB’s rotation has picked up so going to stick with it. Last week was only the 2nd week into it so not sure why 3 of the days were only a 24 min stretch and relaxation. Too much relaxation for my liking! Is that 100 rep workout on youttube? Going to see if I can find it.

Valerie...glad it was not as bad as you thought. I am like that I stress so much over something then when it is over, I am thinking that’s it? That smart thermostat is amazing. Great for you to have this. I tried and love kind bars! Thanks for suggesting these.

Carolyn...good for you continuing your workout the other day after the interruption! It is very easy to call it quits.

Have a great day all!

We had a home owner assoc meeting yesterday. hiring a law firm and taking this guy to court he has ignored all cease and desist letters. It is making life total hell for his close neighbors with heavy truck traffic noise a nd blocked roads. We’d hoped he would back off when he saw we are serious but no luck. Then I did a minor workout. 60 knee pushups after a warm up from high reps, abs from high reps, and 15 on the elliptical. It rained and snowed half the day a slushy mess. We have a serious garden day planned Sunday.

Deb do something light to get things moving again.
One of the hard things about a new house is everything is new and slightly different and in a different place. Even simple jobs take more thinking and planning. It can be so frustrating just making coffee and oatmeal! None of the “automatic pilot” mode for a while yet.

Bars are one thing I check outdates on. I get Kind at Costco by the box, good turnover there. usually only 2 flavors included. Luna sells well too but Costco doesn’t have them. I buy only 6 bars at a time.

Also like Nuun tablets for some flavor in water. its not sweet, but adds a little flavor. water in plastic bottles on a bike or in a pack can taste pretty stale. Nuun helps with minimal calories. 5 cal , I think. There are so MANY bars now that some sit on the shelf too long Stale nuts are especially awful. I only buy one of any "new" bar. many surprises inside those wrappers! extra protein ones always taste to me like sawdust was added. I have tossed every single one after one bite.

Lori I also am so proud and so pleased the kids from Parkland didn't accept this without organizing and taking action. they were too inexperienced to realize they didn't have a chance against the NRA! I support them 100%. I never ever vote for anyone who supports the NRA agenda. we had 2 school shootings here in last dew years. still has not resulted in much legislative change. Like a lot of people, after each shooting, especially Newtown, I thought surely there would be a push to institute better laws, age limits, background checks. Even the NRA would see the sense behind modest changes. I hope this was the tipping point.

Yes, we want to see the new table!.

Today I did Yoga Relax which was 51 minutes. It was wonderful for stretching and relaxation.

I was also impressed and moved by the young people who spoke yesterday. One thing that I believe will make a difference is that many of them will be able to vote soon. That will help to bring about some changes.

Deb, it’s a good idea to choose something easy for your workout. You don’t want to aggravate the muscle strain. Those coupons were the only thing that I have received in the mail based on my shopping at Kroger. Our Rite Aid store is now a Walgreens as a result of their purchase of some stores. I’m not sure how the rewards will work now.

Lori, the pictures of the counter top really show how well it turned out. It’s beautiful. That was a great project for adding additional work space to your kitchen. My newest cutting board looks just like your counter top with the same pattern and wood color.

Hello to Diane Sue, Valerie, and Judy.

My usual Sunday rest day and brunch. I did get outside and trim down my Hibiscus bush and some plants in the flower bed that generally come back from the ground. Put out some weed killer around the walkway.

Deb, I don't have that many cards, but I do use the Sprouts App that I log into and clip coupons on, so I am sure they got some of my information. They email me their sales and events. I feel a little better today I wish I could quit coughing. Good idea to be careful with the side.

Lori, great workout and you really got in some calories burned :) The rebounder is such a great piece of equipment for changing things up. Your counter looks awesome. I would just leave it up all of the time. You did a great job on it.

Carolyn, Walgreens has a reward program, so maybe it would just convert over. I don't earn that much on my Walgreens Rewards card though as I don't shop there enough. When they first implemented it. I saw people saying they didn't have one and felt bad because they didn't understand that they were not going to get the sale prices on their products without it. I go in there once in awhile to get the Bodylogix grassfed whey protein powder. It costs what it does from Amazon and is a large container. Otherwise only for a rare prescription or extremely good sale on something. The main reason is that I don't like getting in and out of the store on busy street corners and avoid it.

Judy, I saw those 100 rep challenges when I was looking at her youtube.

Valerie, I would think it will take awhile to get used to operating all of the new equipment in your new home since you are not there all of the time. When I have some device I don't use often, I sometimes have to go look at the paperwork all over again. The thing goes with changing the time on the clock in my cars newer GPS system. It is still not correct. I think that vegan, soy, and rice flour based proteins are more mealy. I don't like using coconut flour in baked things for that reason. It just doesn't brown and bake well. Most gluten free products seem to be rice flour. I have not heard of Nunn tablets. I will have to look them up. I bought some of that Nestle flavored water and the sweetener and flavor was disgusting. I bought it for my husband when he was dieting. He hated it so I thought I would mix some of my greens powder into it. Big mistake, I had to choke it down. No one liked it and I finally tossed the rest. I like plain bottled or filtered water for the most part. I drink multiple bottles of water a day. I keep thinking I need to get one of those osmosis water bottles or something since these plastics are not supposed to be good.

Lori the countertop is gorgeous. is it bamboo ? it is lovely. Love the old fashioned soda fountain barstools too.

diane sue the Nuun tablets come in a small tube. around here, they are usually in the same area as bars. they are a light, no sugar flavoring for water. not really sweet. they are about 5 or 10 calories. I like the orange, citrus, or lime. it gives a fresher taste to water in plastic bottles. it's not as overwhelmingly strong like Gatorade or Crystal lite. glass is a safety issue on a bike or backpack, so I use a hard plastic bottle. water can taste pretty stale quickly especially if it's warm out. these are not carbonated. come in a small tube about 5 inches tall. It's not exactly fabulous but water in a plastic bottle on a warm day is not too good so almost anything helps make it more drinkable. as we say, "Hydrate or die!"

we did wood moving about 2 cords into the truck, out of the truck, and stacked. wow. a lot of work. it is a lot of twist, bend, twist, toss, repeat. core, arms legs.

Good morning,

Yesterday I did the beginner DVD from the 3 that came with the new Fit Tower. (Thanks Lori!). 40 minutes, 103 calories. Not a huge calorie burn, but nice and easy and it did not hurt my side.

Lori, the counter looks great! It looks like it was done professionally. :). I looked at that Live workout. How did you like the cardio and barre sections? I was not surprised to see that you skipped the core part. :). Glad the storm was not as bad as it could have been. I am so "done" with this winter. It's supposed to be in the 50's this week. I can't wait.

Judy, I sent that link to my phone so I can view with Chromecast on my workout TV. Those squats look tough!

Valerie, wow, that neighbor is really being a pain! I hope all goes well with the court decision. I got a blueberry and some oat nut Kind bars. I like the oat one better. That wood moving is a great total body workout!

Carolyn, I really hope that Walgreen's does not take over all of our Rite Aid stores. I like having 2 different stores, with sales etc. I have a Walgreen's card, but didn't think that there was any rewards linked to it. I thought it was just for getting the sale price on items.

Diane Sue, I hope your cough is better. Assume allergies due to spring pollen etc?

Puppy class this morning....

Take care,

Deb-I was surprised how many calories I burned in the squat & kick workout. It really got my heart rate up and it's only about 24 minutes or so. I am so done with winter too. We still have a little snow in the forecast for later this week :(

Valerie-That neighbor is a pain! I can't believe he is continuing what he is doing. We use Nuun tablets too. Chris gave up diet coke last year and has been using the caffeinated Nuun tablets instead. I like to use them during longer cardio workouts.

Diane Sue-I've been coughing the past couple of days too. For me I think it's the pollen. The count went way up here over the weekend.

Carolyn-We have a couple of Rite Aids nearby. I imagine they will switch over to Walgreens eventually. I like the CVS reward program better than Walgreens. I haven't shopped at Rite Aid enough to use their rewards. I agree about the young people who spoke. They were impressive and they should be able to make a difference.

Lori-It's very sad that youth have to fear for their lives when going to school. Around here, the high schools go on lock down on a regular basis. This is something that I don't ever remember happening when I was going to school.

I am thinking Walgreens bought out Rite aid? hard to keep track of all the big business deals since some go through and others don't. we have mostly Rite aid here, with a few Walgreens scattered. I use Rite aid regularly, and sometimes get dividends back on previous purchase. I don't get prescriptions filled there anymore. It was always a long wait, inefficient and they kept mixing me up with another person with the same name. I told them to PLEASE check birth dates, but mistakes kept happening. finally I transferred to Costco and it's a much better fit for me.

Judy I have some caffeinated Nuun I use sometimes. some of the flavors , like berry taste soapy to me. I stick with citrus or lime. we used to keep diet coke or diet pepsi around. DH got sick of it as did I and haven't bought any in years. I liked carbonation but have weaned myself off it in the last year or two.

Anyone watch the 60 minutes interview last night? we wanted to, but have trouble with that channel and could not get it last night. we could not get the oscars either. seems the signal gets reduced. Opinions? as if my opinion of our fake president could get any lower....

Today I did RWH Plyo HiiT Two which uses the step. Time was 28 minutes with 199 calories burned. My average heart rate was 130 and maximum heart rate 155. I used a lower step and many low impact modifications. I followed that with Fit Tower Bonus Abs for 11 minutes.

Deb, the beginner Fit Tower workout sounds like a good choice. I remember that the Live Senior Fit class was also low key. That might work for your Cathe Live workout this week.

Judy, I can see how that 100 Rep Challenge would get your heart rate up and burn quite a few calories. Squats and kicks definitely do that for me. Did you use that as your lower body workout?

Valerie, yes Walgreens bought out Rite Aid. I get all of my prescriptions filled at my local Rite Aid store which is very close by. I love both of the pharmacists that work there too. Fortunately they will still be there.

Hi to Diane Sue and Lori. Have a great afternoon everyone.

Carolyn-yes, I used the squat and kick challenge as a leg workout. Because of the high reps it felt effective even without weight.

This morning I did Z Cut Power 5Strength disc 2, workouts 5 and 8(chose ones that do not have burpees) 50 minutes, heart rate 109 average, 140 max, 248 calories, met 4.5, 965 steps. I then did Fit Split Metabolic only timesaver skipping the warm up, 25 minutes, heart rate average 107, max 148, 478 steps, met 4.0. Total time was 75 minutes and calories burned 358.

I went shopping with my daughter and grandchildren so am posting late again.

Valerie, I would probably choose the citrus over other flavors. I sometimes squeeze some lemon juice into water. I am not particular about the temperature, or water just sitting around. I don't like tap water though. Our tap water tastes awful. I leave bottles of water and even if it is 100 degrees outside, I will drink the water. I like water. My husband likes Dr pepper, Gatorade, Milk, much more than water. I just bought him some Gatorade 2 which he will drink in hopes of him drinking a bit less of the other stuff. When he diets he will stick to mostly water. You would definitely need the water on those treks you do.

Deb, I am sure it is probably allergies. Coughing and sneezing was awful last night. I could not sleep. I knocked my bottle of water off the night stand and could not find it. I got out of bed and was crawling around in the dark trying to find it. I found it this morning near the back of the nightstand. I ended up eating my last two cough drops. I hate those things! Then it seemed settled till my daughter and I went to the store. We got in the toy area and it started in again. The wind stirs it up. You have to sign into your Walgreens account to do the rewards and your points show on your receipt. 5,000 points equals $5.00. That is why they send out specials to earn extra points and your prescription purchases give points as well.

Judy, we have a high tree pollen count right now. Mostly cedar and juniper. When it is windy it almost immediately kicks in when I go outside for even a brief time. It just starts with one season and moves on through the next. I do wish that there was a way to get past all of it and not be affected at all.

Carolyn, nice work today. I usually lower the step height on that plyo hiit workout. For some odd reason though this last time it did not seem so bad after doing Fit Split Cardio Shred.

Good evening ladies, yesterday was a quick bellicon bounce and that was all I had time for. Had a busy day just doing stuff!! Today I did a bunch of SB workouts. I somehow missed a day so needed to combine 2 days into one. They were all quick workouts totaling 45 mins. The first was called Quick Tabata - consisted of mountain climbers and plank jacks. Two things I hate the most. I did it and glad it was quick. Next was a lower back target that was great. Love working my lower back. Then it was on to a quick arm target then a band posture pull workout. They all worked well together and my upper body felt worked. I finished off for another 10 mins a BBS bounce. Tonight I did a Bellicon Bounce for 30 mins. Going to try and get back to bouncing in the evening.

Thanks for the compliments on the table. Not sure why the pictures are so small! I must have sent them smaller than I usually do when sending pictures to my computer to upload. Like I mentioned before...wish I could upload from my phone or Ipad.

Judy...thanks for the link...I will be fitting it in this week. I also looked at all the 100 rep challenges and they look great. Hi rep workouts can burn some calories!

Valerie...we bought the top from Home Depot and it was European Walnut. Not quite sure what this means. Had great reviews. It is 50x26 and we are very happy with it. So happy we decided not to cut directly on it!! Go figure! So we bought a 20x30 inch commerical grade mat that we can put on and take off. We are funny! I have had the stools for over 20 years! You should take a week off after all that wood moving!

Deb...that was the perfect workout for you. Completely forgot about those. Glad you got to use them. I loved the cardio portion of the new live. Was nice not to do drills. Funny you noticed how I skipped the core. I usually smile when I type it in my workout and you all know I skipped the core. :) My son and I commuted today and we both are hoping the snow is done.

Carolyn...I remember liking the two RWH Plyo workouts. I always only use 1 riser when using the step for cardio. Years ago I used 2 but dropped down in my late 40’s. I used to think 2 rises burned way more calories and one day I read it really does not burn that many more so I dropped to 1 and never looked back. I always hated 2 risers but was stubborn!

Diane Sue...makes me so happy you are getting use of those dvds. You go girl!!! Great workout today. We are fortunate to have decent tasting tap water. We still use a Brita that we keep in the fridge Also, have Brita water bottles I use for my workouts. My new KCM workouts shipped yesterday and will arrive tomorrow. I am starting to get a back up of new workouts. I guess that is not a bad thing!

Have a great night all!

Lori, with the new workouts there should not be any boredom. It seems every home we have lived in here in Oklahoma has had bad water. One of them we installed a Culligan water system and had it filtered and softener. My daughter had to do that where she is as well as their drains and stuff was building up terrible hard water residue and clogging the drains. One house they would come out and clear the lines outside for the area and you would have all kinds of stuff floating in the water for a few days. It would come through into the bath dirty. Let alone we get those water safety reports that says safe for most unless you have certain diseases. Not good. I would rather use plastic bottles.

Good morning,

Yesterday I did Cathe Live "Move It". 39 minute, 243 calories. This is a great cardio workout. She does 30 cardio moves, one time through then "throws it away and moves to the next one" is how Cathe describes it. She also shows a lot of modifications for any high impact moves.

Judy, I have to look into those tablets. Assume they come in decafe? We also never had a lock down in high school, but we did have riots and the school was emptied...scary and not a good thing.

Valerie, I understand how you feel about Rite Aid and their prescriptions....John and I have had some mix ups too. All and all though, they have been okay.

Diane Sue, I wish I liked water like you do! Unless I am parched for some reason, I have to remind myself to drink it. I hope you get some relief soon from your allergies. John has the same cough. Yes, plastic bottles sound preferable to the water you described.

Lori, nice combo of workouts. I agree, I don't think adding a second riser does much, except more chance to trip up on the step.

Carolyn, good job on those bonus abs!

Take care,

Deb-Yes, the Nuun tablets come in decaf too. After thinking about it, I remembered a "lock down" that we had when I was in the 7th or 8th grade. I was going to a Catholic school and a large group of teenagers was standing outside the school yelling and threatening to beat anyone that came out.
I have no idea what they were upset about or why they targeted that school. It would have been 1976 or 77.

Lori- I think I will do a drop sets workout this week too.
