I had to go out and get some things after my workout and was so tired when I came home that I took a power nap. I think it must have to do with the arthritis, because last week I had so much energy and felt great all week and was thinking things were going so well. I ran out of curcumin and Advil nothing with Boswella at the moment so I went out to get that stuff. I don't realize how much some of the supplements help till I am out and not repurchasing. All of that stuff gets expensive. I went back over the natural help information on the arthritis foundation website and made some notes. I have never taken as large of doses of some of those supplements as it suggests. Yesterday my low back, neck, wrists and knees were all hurting by the time I got done raking the back yard. It looks so much better though and I love getting outside when my allergies are not crazy. I think I do have a reprieve from that anyway. Just juniper seems to be the big culprit right now. It must not affect me like the cedar or something.
Deb, I hope your weather gets better soon. As I look at the Metabolic workout moves and read reviews I think that I would like that one. I checked out the Good RX site and I downloaded the app. It appears to not take into consideration insurance. It gives prices for your area and stores and you can click on the coupon for the store you want to pick it up from and they will have it ready at the price that you choose. For me the Walmart coupon would be best and it is actually only 1 dollar difference from what I pay with my part D supplement. It would be a substantial savings for someone who had to purchase without savings. I saw it in our area running for 199.00 and CVS and Walgreens being the highest was around 79.00 with Good Rx. It suggests checking because you may find a lesser price than Medicare or your insurance. It has a place for if you cannot find a pharmacy. Also all CVS and Walgreens do not participate. You have to find one that does. Anyway, that is my understanding after reading the FAQ and information.
Valerie, sorry you are having to stay in. I know how much you love your outdoor activities. I have the 1 lb and the 2 lb weight gloves from Cathe's. I know what you mean about the weights moving the gloves. The 2# stay put pretty well and the velcro is not so much a problem with either. The 1# slipped so much that the thumb holes got bigger and I finally sewed around the edges. I still use them, but my hands are sensitive and I can feel irritation when they rub on the back of my hands. I bought a pair of 1 and a half pound gloves without the removable weights and they do not require me to stick my fingers through a whole bunch of finger holes and loops and I like them quite a bit better. I sometimes just set a pair of 1# dumbbells nearby and pick them up when I want to use them for a kickboxing workout. Again clutching dumbbells constantly aggravates my arthritis, so at least I can put them down when I need to relax my hands a bit. I actually had a bruised looking spot on the pad of my hand the other day after lifting heavy dumbbells. It really aggravates me. It didn't hurt though, just looked weird with little vein looking spots in it. I need to get new lifting gloves. I threw my Nike ones away because the thumbs were tearing.
Yes, I have a heating pad. I guess that would have been better than what I used. I have a hot cold pack that is like clay or something that I can put in the microwave for a minute or so and stick it in a soft pouch that I used around my neck and shoulders when sleeping. It doesn't stay hot real long, but it seemed to help and I didn't have to worry about falling asleep for too long on something hot. Although if I got too warm I would have work up anyway.
Carolyn, that is nice that you were able to get a little yoga in on your rest day. That is what I have been trying to do. I think I have a Maroon 5 cd around here somewhere. Funny, how tastes change though. I just do not listen to that type of music much anymore. I prefer Christian and classical. Something calming. Otherwise quiet is nice
I had my grandson go through some of my CDs and he took some of the time life hits of the 70s LOL he is 18. He loves music and is quite talented on picking up tunes on the guitar and piano.
Lori, you will have to keep us up on the air fryer. I am kind of with Valerie on acquiring a taste for fried food. The closest I usually get is what I put in the skillet with a small amount of healthy fat for fried food. My husband would love it, I am sure.
Judy, thanks for thinking of me and my neck. It feels somewhat better this afternoon after some supplements and a nap.
