Pentagenarians & Beyond: W/B 12/04/2022

Carolyn the last time we drove back from montana we drove by here in the last 20 minutes of our drive. this is right along I-5. we were exhausted from 12 rough hours but were fascinated by how lovely this was in the dark.
I did Rev'd up Rumble this morning. I haven't done any cardio work like this since before I hurt my knee back in October. I was very careful, took a couple breaks and didn't throw 100% energy into it. went slowly and carefully thinking about each move. it seemed Ok but I'm still very nervous about some positions and with shoulder problem besides, I didn't want to hurt anything. I got through it ok. I never had an injury so think the shoulder thing is tendonitis. its getting better so I'm trying to avoid irritating it.

Today I did CDorner Step and strength upper body with stretch using amedium loop band. I skipped a lot of the upper body moves since they were working lats and shoulders, but I did do the biceps and triceps ones. She said arms, but it worked more than just arms. My lats and back are sore from yesterday. This was 40 minutes, heart rate 112/144, 151 calories, 2,646 steps. I then did Fit Split Legs and Glutes only timesaver premix, 32 minutes, heart rate 122/146, 148 calories, 1,372 steps.
Total time was 72 minutes, 299 calories, 4,018 steps. Power went out while I was typing. So had to wait for the internet to come back up. Now I have to reprogram clocks

Fit Split legs and glutes
Body weight sweepers and gliding disc work
Deadlift 25# dbs 12 reps
squats 20# dbs 16 reps
rear lunge off step 10# dbs
has pulses
Forward diagonal lunge 12# dbs 16 reps
Push dips off step with 3 risers 10# dbs
Deadlift 20# dbs 12 reps
cross back side slide lunge 10# dbs
slide side lunge 15# db
elevated lunges 12# dbs
single leg deadlift 20# db

Judy, nice work with Live Pumped-Up Lower Body. It sounds like a good workout. We have a couple of dvd players in the living room cabinet. One is not hooked to the audio as my granddaughter's husband hooked them up when we moved in. I got rid of the wired sound system so did not realize there was no sound till we tried to play my granddaughter's wedding dvd in May. We usually stream movies and have an extensive purchased library. The other dvd player is a massive sized old one with a vhs player in it as well. I have not room for that one. I think the audio is hooked up on it. I need to organize my external drive so I can more easily find the workouts on it.

Valerie, those Christmas lights are beautiful. I do not know what is up with Amazon. I am still waiting. I checked the product to see if it was still available and it said get it tomorrow. So now they say it may be lost! I am undecided what to do as I used a gift card that I got from rebates to purchase it. Otherwise, I would cancel and reorder. I did that with my grandson's gift and had to pay a few cents more when reordering and it already arrived, they had pushed delivery to close to our family Christmas on the first one. I am guessing that maybe there was something that was floating around in there because since we moved it had occasionally made the noise, but after a bit it would snap out of it. I do not trust it though. It ran perfectly today. I am happy it snapped out of it. I try to make sure my product I purchase from Amazon is Prime and not a third-party seller if at all possible. Sometimes you can't though. We have had some bad deals and I go back to the remembrance of the folding chairs and the dining table that we waited a couple of months for only to have them suddenly say they were not available. All I can say is they must not have got their shipment from China or Vietnam. The table was Ashley. When we found the one, we got it was here within a week after all of that waiting for the other. Shopping has gotten frustrating.

Carolyn, I have come close to giving up a workout a few times lately because of so many morning interruptions. I managed today, but my husband had ordered his favorite tamales from a California company and there were 4 large boxes that arrived. I think part of my steps during weights was carrying the boxes in, unpacking all of the cold wrap and making room for them in the freezer in the garage. He found them online and has always complained because they do not sell anything comparable here. They are huge tamales at 8 oz each. They sure packed them well, and I find it a shame to have to toss the ice packs and all of the insulated stuff. I have some that I have kept from Whole foods, but not enough room to keep all of that stuff.

I did STS Disk 5 this morning. Back and Triceps. Then I cleaned all my hair and cat fur out of the velcro on my wrist and ankle weights. They weren't staying stuck as good as they should. I may have ordered the new barbell yesterday and possibly the water bottle, too. So, if anyone has a good reason I can give DH please share. LOL Doing rows this morning did highlight the one issue I've always had with my current one is that the padding is thick and makes it hard for me to keep a good grip while doing rows. My little hands just don't cut it. It's also close to 30 years old...sounds good, right! I don't think I'll be able to keep it a secret given the colors of the plates and the fact they have holes for holding them, and the bar isn't padded...

Diane Sue, nice job with Low Impact Sweat, muscle meltdown and stretch. Also with Step and strength upper body with stretch, Fit Splits Legs and Glutes.I haven't heard about any severe weather in the states recently either. And who among us has shaken or whacked something to make it work again! :p I'm glad your player is cooperating now.

Carolyn great job with Rev’d Up Rumble. I debated on the calendar but opted against it. I used to get them every year, but rarely do anymore. I liked the old style ones better. Sometimes those unexpected rest days just happen.

Judy great job with Live #359, Pumped Up Lower Body.

Valerie thanks for sharing the video! I'm rarely ever out when it's dark here so I don't get to see many displays.

This morning I did Strong and Sweaty Bootcamp, rounds 1-4. My time was 34 minutes and 201 calories burned. Average heart rate was 126 and maximum heart rate was 158.

Valerie, nice job with Rev’d Up Rumble. You are smart to be careful of your shoulders. It’s easy to get too enthusiastic with the movements and strain the shoulders.

Diane Sue, nice job with CDorner Step and Weights Upper Body and Fit Split Legs and Glutes only premix. I had a food delivery yesterday too, which was one of the interruptions. My wild salmon was delivered and I had the same problem of what to do with the extra ice packs! I ordered whole fillets in addition to the individual portions since I plan to serve it when my family is here. I’m sure that your husband will enjoy his tamales.

Cathy, great job with STS disc 5 Back and Biceps. I keep the calendar on the wall in my office and use stickers to mark my workouts. It’s a small motivator for me. Maybe your husband won’t notice the new equipment!

Waving hello to Judy.

I've never had a tamale. I thought they always had meat so I never pursued it. If there are chicken tamales, I would try one of those if I came across one.
Glad you enjoyed the video. I remember driving around looking at christmas lights. This spot was unexpected. I knew there was seasonal lighting as some is on during the day. it's really dramatic at night. I was dog tired, but snapped right to attention when I saw it in the distance. Lovely!

carolyn we are lucky here........... salmon is readily available. too bad DH wont eat it and makes a fuss when I try. I love it but not often on the menu.

cathy, I vote with Carolyn. if you unceremoniously slip the new equipment into the room DH probably won't even notice. then no awkward explaining to do.
I have tendinitis in my right shoulder following some unusual posture working in the camper 2 months ago. its slowly getting better but I avoid some upper body workouts that might make it worse. movements with my arm at shoulder height are achy/ clicky. no side raises. I wasn't sure about kick boxing so I went easy, doing the movements without putting in 100% effort. its ok today. we did a forest walk this morning for a couple miles and 75 minutes. easy trail in the trees.

Not just having it downstairs, but getting it in the house. I carried the 6' long box with my yoga mat right past him, but this box is going to weigh over 40 lbs! I've gonna have to slide it down the basement stairs. Plus a couple of the plates are bright orange it's gonna stick out. He uses the equipment, so I'd have to figure out a place to stash it and I'm pretty sure there isn't any place. Don't see any way I'm getting away with it. LOL

The funniest part is, and I honestly shouldn't be surprised, I think he's totally forgotten that I've been getting my pension for two years. He acts like I should never have money to spend, but I budget and save for things. I also run everything through my credit card and get a lot of stuff with my Amazon rewards. Where's there's a will...

This morning was Live Cardio Challenge Express. A really solid workout using 3 lbs weights and the stability ball, though I subbed a smaller ball for some things. Cardio with the stability ball is a bit much for my size.

Carolyn great job with Strong and Sweaty Bootcamp.

This morning was my investment club meeting, so no workout.

Cathy, great job with Live Cardio Challenge Express. Cardio with the stability ball is not easy.

Hello to everyone. Have a wonderful day.

Thursday I did a 45 minute Peloton ride, yesterday I did a 30 minute Peloton ride and today is a rest day. I did Yin Yoga and some foam rolling. We are finishing up some ceiling prep and painting. Chris just rented a 10 foot ladder so we need to get it all done by tomorrow. I'll be back to post later.
