Good morning,

No workout yesterday, I did get some stuff packed up from china cabinets etc.

Valerie, I guess it's time for you and DH to not kick yourselves, it happened and at least they caught the guy and you were able to get some stuff back. Years ago, when I was in my apartment a girl came in while I was in a bedroom ironing and stole my purse off my dresser in another bedroom. Yes, the door was unlocked because my cousin went to the store for milk, and she was coming right back so she left the door unlocked. I think the girl saw my cousin leave and thought it was me, so she came in quickly, tried the door, got in and immediately went to my bedroom off the dining room, grabbed the purse and ran out. I heard the door slam and thought it was my cousin coming back. They caught her, but the purse was gone. A few months later, a little old man came to my door and handed me the purse, He found it under his foundation lattice cover. Everything was in there except the cash. License, credit cards etc, of course I had already cancelled/replaced all that. That was the second time someone came in to burglarize us while we were at home.

Carolyn, that sounds like a great meeting, with good food too!

Diane Sue, too bad about the sofa bed, but it must be nice having a new one.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend,

A workout, then back to HouseMax for me....

Take care,

Good Morning!
Feel like I have been away from here for so long! I have not worked out in over a week. I did walk crazy steps at conference but that has been pretty much it. Came home and had a horrible sore throat. Then flew to Philly and back yesterday to get GiGi. i think I mentioned instead of driving it made more sense for me to fly. worked out well.

Rainy here today. I need to read all the posts from last week and catch up.

Here are a few pictures of GiGi. We are in love!

Lori-Gigi is so adorable! I bet you are in love! I showed Chris the photos and now he wants a Lab puppy :)

Where do you live, Deb? It sounds awful.. I had not been able to get on for a while, and, when. I moved , at least five boxes of my stuff did not come with me. Thank Goall my DVD's came with me, my Ryka still

studio shoes, but no bras, panties, my special workout bras that are heavy and so.on. I am typing on a M
Kindle and my writing is awful. I do not like that as I am state certified to teach English from grades seven to twelve. There is a high school across the street so I am doing tutoring and I want to work at the nearest gym. My step did not come with me, so Frank bought me a nice New one from Amazon.

Gigi is so cute

Hi everyone--

This morning I did live Ramped Up Cardio and Weights (45 min.). I am a sucker for these circuit workouts--I really like them and getting both cardio and weights.

Lori, Gigi is so darling! Now I want a puppy again. A lot of work, but a lot of loving, too.

Deb, that sounds so brazen. I've had my wallet stolen once and was mugged once in Chicago when I was a graduate student. Ugh! I hate being paranoid all the time, but there are a lot of creeps out there ready to take advantage.

We had a lovely dinner last night and were treated royally with extras at our favorite restaurant. We are looking forward to our older son coming for a visit later this week. He is coming at the height of the foliage I think, so it should be pretty.

Valerie, I hope you have recovered from all the ugliness. Phew--a meth pipe??

OMG the Gigi is darling!!. Lori .... she is absolutely adorable. I WANT ONE TOO!.

It is unfortunately the cost of living with a lot of other people.... a certain % are thieves and addicts, and they keep looking to exploit situations. I'm sure this wasn't the first time someone has tried something like this here. almost every neighbor has been burglarized at least once. we had our garage door opener stolen in spring, and we were lucky they drove by and tired it but we were home and realized what happened, and changed the coding. had mail stolen a few times. had a truck broken into. there was an article in the paper this morning saying that burglars just run up and try doors until they find one unlocked about one out of 10-12 tries. this problem seems to be much worse than even a few years ago.
Deb, that is creepy. DH and I absolutely set the alarm every time we leave. we keep doors locked when we're home. when we work outside, only leave a door open if we can see it. This community will have a gate with cameras in 6 months or less. we think it will deter some of the crime, but not all.
Lynda, I've never been mugged... that must have been scary. yep, a pipe. it had "stuff" in it, stuck in our duffel bag with all our clothes and meds. I'm surprised the police didn't confiscate it. they contacted us from the name on the prescription bottles so they looked thru some of it.

Did treadmill and elliptical yesterday for total 45 min. this morning we did a 25 mile road ride.

Caitlin can you put in a claim with the moving company? 5 boxes of stuff is a lot to lose!

No workout again today. All of the fancy came today we ended up having pizza this evening. I made a large kale salad to go with it. My brother and his wife will be going home tomorrow

Lori, Gogi is so sweet. Thanks for showing pictures. I am with Deb, I particularly like the picture with the food bin.

Deb, I would be paranoid if I had someone come in my house while I was home one time. After two I would be jumping at every odd sounds.
It is nice having a new sofa. It smells nice too, as it is leather.

Lynda, being mugged would be so frightening. Yes, there are a lot of predators out there looking for opportunity.

Caitlin, I am sorry you did not get everything. Did you contact the movers? They should be responsible.
.

Good morning,

Yesterday I did Live Metabolic Conditioning, a great total body workout.

Lori, Gigi is so darned cute, I want to just eat her up!

Caitlin, I live in Buffalo. What happened to the 5 boxes of stuff? Did the movers leave them on the truck?

Lynda, agree on your comment about the Live workouts that cover both cardio and weights....especially the metabolic and Phat ones. Your anniversary dinner sounds wonderful. Being mugged must have been horrible.

Valerie, yes, why would the police not confiscate that meth pipe? That sounds weird. I think the gate and cameras will help, hopefully they will be really visible so the creeps know that they are being filmed.

Diane Sue, maybe a couple days off from working out will be good for you. Yhe second time someone came in was the night before my Mom's funeral. My uncle was sleeping over, left the front door unlocked, but thankfully he was sleeping in the living room on the sofa when the guy walked in....my uncle jumped up and said something like. "who are you?"....scared the guy who thought everyone would be in bedrooms etc, and grabbed my uncle's pants and took off. The police found him hiding in an alley a little while later.

The painter will be starting Wednesday morning, so lots of moving stuff around for the next 2 days....I'll be glad when its all done.

Take care,

Today I will do something with total body and some cardio. My brother and his wife just headed home. I have already started some catch up house cleaning and laundry. I am back to better eating. I had such a headache we hen I woke up and I know it is the pizza and chips. I did load up on some kale salad last night.
One rant, I did not think peanut butter cookies, bread, sugar sweetened coke an doctor pepper were good for diabetics. I was going to make eggs and sausage this morning and my sister in law asked for toast. She told me yesterday she does not eat much bread because it spikes her blood sugar. Then she ate two sandwiches. She says she can't drink diet sodas so she drank sugar ones. We went to a walmart and she bought herself Dr Pepper. I came in before bed and she was in the kitchen eating peanut butter cookies and having coke. Then she wants orange juice in the morning for blood sugar levels. I can sort of understand that. Maybe!! Plus I feel irritated that my brother has gained even more weight.I care about his health and hers.

Deb, it will be so nice when the painting is all done. Gertie likes her new toy so much. She had to bring it to everyone that has been here to play. She brings it upstairs with her when I am working out. It is so cute.

Good Morning,
Today I did Live Hard Strikes Low Impact Boxing. She included boxing tabatas and upper body and core work. This was a nice workout.

Lori, your Gigi is really cute. I'm sure you must be thrilled.

Deb and Valerie, the idea of some stranger coming in to your home must have been frightening. I've never been burgularized, but I did have my new car stolen. The car was recovered, but I never liked it after that. It is unfortunate and sad that we have to be so vigilant, even at home.

Lynda, I'm glad that you had a nice anniversary dinner. I agree with you about circuit workouts and how efficient they are.

Diane Sue, having family visit always make me happy. Getting a new sofa sleeper is a nice bonus.

Caitlin, I hope you are able to recover your missing items from the moving company.

Hello to Judy and Josie.

I'm not an expert on drugs, believe me! some kind of a small glass pipe and with burned material in the bowl. it was in the bottom of our duffel bag. we put on gloves and went thru everything that was returned. cleaned the stuff we kept, and bagged the stuff that wasn't ours. this is where we found the wrist band identifying the guy. plus some likely stolen clothes with tags attached. there were a lot of medication in his haul, but interestingly they'd been "sorted". most was BP meds, antibiotics, advil, benadryl. I had one Xanax in a container with some advil PM, and DH had some ambien. those two were gone.

I agree with deb. a few days off is good for you diane sue. Not exactly a well thought out diet for a person with T2! the soda is an especially bad choice. even OJ will send most peoples blood sugar shooting up. Has she ever seen a dietitian or diabetic educator? I'm guessing she doesn't monitor her blood glucose at home either. not suggesting that it's your job to convince her, but she is headed for trouble.

Funerals are a target for crooks. often newspapers say when and what time services are held, and if you have an uncommon name, it's easy to figure out several homes where no one will be home.

Diane Sue, your rant sounds like me after we visit our large families! What they say about health issues and their food choices don't make sense.

Hi everyone--

This morning I did RS with 1 lb. gloves (49:00).

Brr--it was cold here this morning. I am just not ready for cold weather I guess.

Deb, the University of Chicago is situated on the south side and was pretty dangerous if you ventured off the most populated streets. I was with a roommate and confronted by a man with a knife who just told us to turn over our purses, so we did. there wasn't much in either one of them--a little cash, our student ids and keys to our graduate student housing--so the U. had to change all the locks right away and we had to replace our ids. No cell phones or credit cards in those days.

Diane Sue, go ahead and rant. She doesn't sound like she knows what she's talking about and it's not worth arguing. My mom always swore that she got the flu from the flu shot one year and refused to get one thereafter. After a couple times trying to persuade her otherwise, I just gave up. You know the old saying, "You can lead a horse to water, but........"

Valerie, my FIL had his mom in a nursing home, and every time they would tell her and the staff that they would be away for a few days, there would be an attempted break-in at their house. He and my MIL were pretty sure it was someone at the nursing home tipping off burglars. They did have a security system, but one time, they lost all of their sterling silver. Insurance replaced it.

Good evening ladies!

I was off today and this morning I took GiGi for a walk. We both enjoyed it. :). I then did about 45 minutes of barre and mini trampoline intervals. Was a lot of fun. Suzanne Bowen will be making a dvd combining these two that I am looking forward to. She recently posted a kids workout with her daughter alternating the two so I decided to make my own up. Today I bought Jumpsport 550F Pro in anticipation of her DVD. I have a really cheap one I bought years ago. At the conference my boss gave me a $500 amex gift card as a thank you. I knew exactly what I was going to buy with it! Would never have spent the money for one so this worked out well as I feel it is free money!!!! :)

Deb...the picture by the food container was not planned at all. Inside was Chester's left over food we were about to throw out and replace with her puppy food. She must have smelt it and was trying to get in. We took her yesterday for a couple of shots and to get chipped. Last night she slept in her crate all night and woke up around 5am and never had an accident. Amazing! Hoping this continues. :)

Lynda...glad you had a nice anniversary dinner. How many years? You may have mentioned. I have never been mugged but my husband had when he lived in DC. The guy stuck a gun in his face. He thought sure that was it. Horrible people that do that.

Valerie...so glad you got your stuff back. I would feel so violated too. Very creepy knowing a complete stranger looking for drug money was amongst my possessions.

Diane Sue...let me tell you...coming from someone with Diabetes I do not eat like that! Sounds like she likes to talk about having diabetes but does nothing about it. A couple of days off can be good. But I hear you about feeling like crap after eating all the things you just aren't accustomed to.

Carolyn...looks like you are enjoying the Live workouts! They get addicting!!!

Caitlin...hope you get those boxes. How annoying.

Hi to Judy and Josie!

Today's workout was Ripped with Hiit Circuit Upper Body, 46 minutes, 316 calories. I then did Ice Lower Body Blast blizzard blast 18 minutes, 147 calories and Ice Boot camp blizzard blast 12 minutes, 80 calories. I finished with Barre Amped Stretch and Strength relaxation stretch, 15 minutes. 568 calories total, 91 minutes.

Carolyn, I think our homes are supposed to be our safe place. It makes me angry that we have to protect out homes like that.

Lynda, my husband says the same thing about the flu shot. I got him to the doctors office for one this year. I will hear about it if he gets the flu though. But, I told him he gets the flu every time anyway. At least if he gets it the immunization makes it a less severe. I asked the woman in the lab if some people are resistant to the flu shot and she said once in awhile. She said she gets the shot and will get the flu anyway but it is not as severe as it could be. I usually do not get the flu and I get the flu shot every year.

Valerie, she worked in the food service area of a hospital and claims she knows what she should eat because she has experience in diet for diabetics. I had made some suggestions before and that was her come back. I am pretty sure she knows better. She came in saying her blood sugar was off and she needed orange juice the one morning. I only had apple juice and she drank that. Then while I am buying orange juice at the store she buys Dr Pepper. She is the mother of my nephew that is obese and had the heart problems and was in the hospital. Her health has been bad. She has had some falls. I had to leave the downstairs bath in our room open so she could use it during the night because she didn't think she could make it up the stairs. She did go upstairs and bathe though. My family was all fairly thing, but now my brother is very heavy. I think between the two of them combined they must weigh 600 lbs at least. Her being the heaviest. She claims to only eat a brunch and then dinner when my brother comes home. I watch and she fills her plate and goes back for seconds and thirds so that is meaningless.

Lorie, I saw the kids videos. I was hoping to do them with my granddaughter 8 years, Saturday morning but with the sofa issue and so much going on we did not get a chance. I don't think her brother, two, would have allowed it though. He wants everyone else to get off the rebounder so he can get on it. I have the Urban Rebounder and have looked at the Bellicon which is really expensive and the Jump Sport. I would like to have one of those. Like you I find it a bit hard to imagine spending that much money. You are lucky have that gift card. I would do the same thing. Those workouts looked good. I watched the videos the other day and thought I needed to try it. You will be lucky if Gigi is that easy. My daughter's pup Graham (like the cracker) was 4 months when they got her. She was so easy to finish house breaking. They finally put in a doggie door though because the two dogs were constantly wanting out and then back in. It also is better so that they can check out intruders.
I am sure she just likes to talk about her diabetes. I am not sure what she thinks that she will gain from it. I know some of the nutritional stuff. I used to buy Diabetes Magazine for some of the recipes in it. We are not diabetic but I think they were healthy recipes anyway. Plus my husband's mother was diabetic. I try to pay attention to what I feed him.
I did appreciate the pizza my son bought for everyone yesterday though. I was able to put out the salad and sit and visit rather than spend the evening in the kitchen. I order some of it in the extra thin crispy crust to cut down on the bread because that is our preference and then the regular for those that like it like that. Originally I was going to do spaghetti doing some regular and some with a protein pasta that I purchased from Sprouts. I think it had lentils in it. The funny thing is when I make a second dish everyone else wants to eat it too.

Today was a much needed rest day. The same thing happened to Frank, and he lost three thousand dollars, and he couldn't recover anything. The movers had a a cell phone number, and when I called, it
was disconnect. My friends there told me that that the movers just my boxes near the dumpsters and all was gone with 15 minutes. I am just glad I am out of New York City.

The same thing happened to Far

Good morning,

No workout yesterday, I visited my friend and we had lunch and did a marathon watching of Suits, which she has been DVR'ing since the beginning of this season.

Diane Sue, Yikes! that eating does not sound like anyone watching their food because of diabetes. Glad Gertie likes the toy....I like these a lot, they can play fetch, tug...or just chew on them without any strings to worry about. Then when they are yucky, just toss in the washer and dryer and they come out like brand new.

Carolyn, good workout.. I have to try that one.

Valerie, it sounds like your thief was keeping himself pretty busy. I would be so paranoid right now if I were you any time I saw one of them walking around. I hope your neighbors become more diligent after this. Our intruder didn't even wait for us to be at the funeral. I think it was just a coincidence that it was the night before the funeral. He probably was just going door to door to see if there was one unlocked.

Lynda, I'm glad the thief just took your purses! Very cold here too, right now it is 38. I swear the same thing happened to me.....I got a flu shot and had the worse flu...and I was on vacation in Florida when I got it...ugh....I have not had one since. Maybe it's just a coincidence, but I usually get colds, but not the flu.

Lori, that was really nice of your boss to give you that gift card! Shows that he really appreciates all the work you do. Great idea to use it for that jumpsport thing...what is it? LOL..Oh, I see it's a rebounder. I hope Gigi continues to be good in her crate etc. She sounds like a wonderful puppy.

Caitlin, that is awful....I guess if you can't get a hold of them by phone, they are gone. It wasn't an actual moving company?

More prep for the painter today...maybe a workout.

Take care,

Hi Everyone,

Sunday I did ICE Muscle Meltdowns-Back, Shoulders & Triceps and Icy Core 2. Yesterday I did Chiseled Lower Body Blast, the band only premix of To The Mat, and Icy Core 1. I'm feeling a little sore today so I think I will take today off of weights and do a spin or walk workout.

Deb-I had similar things happen when I lived in an apartment and had a roommate. In my case, the roommate and her friends were the problem and as soon as I figured that out I moved and did not look for roommates after that.

Lynda-I really like the circuit workouts too. It's great to get cardio and weights done at the same time. That is terrible about the nursing home :( It's sad that there are so many predators out there.

Lori-what a nice gift from your boss! The Jumpsport 550F Pro sounds really nice. I've never used a trampoline, but it would be fun to try sometime. Gigi sounds like a very well behaved puppy.

Diane Sue-that sounds like way to much sugar and junk food for anyone, let alone someone with diabetes and other health issues.

Carolyn-that would be awful to have a car stolen. That is happening more and more around here.

Valerie-We keep our doors and windows locked all of the time. There have been so many robberies and home invasions around here recently. We feel a little better having a security system in place. Also, our condo only has a front entrance and a door coming in from the garage. One of the things they are doing is banging on the front door of a home to see if anyone is there then breaking in if no one answers. They are so brazen that they are doing this in broad daylight, when they think most people are at work. It happened in a neighborhood not far from here. The woman saw 2 guys walking around her house, looking in windows and coming up to the door. She hid in a closet and called the police. Something frightened them off so they weren't there when the police arrived, but they hit another house in the area right after that. We are starting to think that staying in a condo might be safer than being in a house, at least in this area.

Caitlin-I'm so sorry! I would be very upset if that happened to me. I guess there isn't anything you can do about it now :(

Hi to Josie!
