Pentagenarians & Beyond: W/B 10/29/2023

i lived thru it but it will be very rough for a long time. a big incision. doctor is pleased with how it went and that my bone structure was better than he expected. it is an accomplishment just to push the walker around the house. did stairs a few times. didn't rest well last night because of bad reaction to pain meds. never taken much before and it totally shut down my colon despite numerous things to counter that. so i was totally blocked

Thank you for the update Valerie. That's good that your doctor is pleased with the surgery. My husband had the same issue with pain meds after his appendix surgery. I hope you feel better soon.

This morning I did Rev’d Up Rumble which was 41 minutes and 293 calories burned. My average heart rate was 132 and maximum heart rate was 176.

Diane Sue, great job with STS 2 Mish Mosh Chest and Triceps and CDorner Mobility challenge day 18. The mobility challenge sounds like a good idea for adding stretching/mobility to a workout routine.

Cathy, great job with Live Core Flow Express.

Valerie, it’s good to hear from you today. I’m glad that your surgery went well. A close family member of mine had that reaction to pain medication in the hospital. She couldn’t go home until she was able to get some relief. Your recovery will take a while, but at least you have the first step behind you.

Hello to Judy.

Today I did Raw Box for your waistline using weight gloves, 33 minutes, 188 calories, 1,269 steps, heart rate 139/174. I love this workout. I followed this with TBTS timesaver cardio, 18 minutes, heart rate 151/179, 151 calories, 1,935 steps. I finished with CDorner mobility challenge day 18 chest and shoulders again and today's day 20 ankles and calves, 23 minutes, 38 calories. Total time was 74 minutes, 377 calories, 3,204 steps.

Cathy, nice job getting in Live Core Flow Express. I could see it being kind of daunting for the cats to go through that deep of an opening.

Valerie, I am sorry that you had that reaction to the pain meds. I used more than I have ever used before and had that happen to me. I had to take a lot of doses of stuff to help. Between the muscle relaxers and pain pills etc.. It was such a relief to get off the meds. I usually get by with one or two doses and just take ibuprofen but not that time. I hope that you can get it worked out. That is good news that your bone structure is good.

Carolyn, great job on getting in Rev's Up and Rumble today. CDorner set up the mobility stretches with shorter length ones to try to get her viewers to do stretching. They are good for those that do not have a lot of time.

Got behind this morning mainly do to chatting with my sister. She's long worked in the after production side of tech and was trying to convince me I should be using ChatGPT. LOL I still have no idea where she thinks that would be useful in my life! She was updating her Linked In account yesterday because she terminated one of her contract jobs yesterday because of their inefficiency, and is hoping to land another. She used Chat GPT and asked me what I thought. Honestly, after ready the too me long and weird thing, I thought it had to be a joke. But, I didn't go that route in my response. And got confirmation that she was serious. Honestly it was hilarious and I just couldn't imagine any prospective employer wading through it, but apparently it's the norm. Glad I have no jobs to apply for or maybe just tech companies are that weird.

Anyway, it was a cardio day and I ended up ditching what I had in the rotation for RWH Low Impact Hiit Two and then I added on the P30 extended stretch. The stretch is very similar to the Step Boss one, but less upper body I think. I've rarely ever used the RWH workouts and I don't think I ever did that one before. It's a good workout, but seemed to drag more than other Hiit's though that may just have been my attitude!

Valerie good news that the surgery went well, but I am so sorry that you had such a bad reaction to meds. I hope that you are able to find what works and have a smoother time with the rest of your recovery.

Diane Sue nice job with Raw Box for your waistline and TBTS timesaver cardio and the mobility challenge.

Carolyn great job with Rev’d Up Rumble.

Hi Judy.

I am going to slowly improve but its a bitch right now. it changed the line up of my hip joints i ended up with an ileus, a paralyzed section of colon from the narcotics. nothing could move either direction, reflux and then diarrhea. normalizing now. it's common for pain meds but this was major and I probably wont take any again. tylenol is it. more later

Today is my rest day so no workout to report. I went to the Farmer’s Market and the specialty stores this morning. It’s been really cold the last few mornings but it’s finally starting to warm up. I can’t believe that we are once again at the time change weekend.

Diane Sue, great job with Raw Box for your Waistline, TBTS timesaver cardio, and CDorner Mobility challenge.

Cathy, nice job with RWH Low Impact HiiT Two and P30 Extended Stretch. I prefer workout one from that dvd. Workout two seems to drag on for me too. The RWH strength workouts are very good.
