Good morning,

Starting this over.. I had it half way done, when I hit some random key and it all disappeared. :( . The play was great., very funny and a good productions.

Diane Sue, nice combination of workouts!

Valerie, I like your idea of cooking the vegetables separately, then adding. Keeps them crisper. I think we get a butter sauce and masala. The new upper pyramid is done using a stability ball, I find it had to jump up from the ball, get the new weights, then get back on. The ball rolls around each time as the basement floor is slightly slanted. I don't mind what they are wearing in the Upper Stacked workout. I like those colors.

Carolyn, Body Weights & Bands sounds like a good one to try this week. I use krill oil for omega 3's. The hemp hearts sound good for adding that crunch to yogurt.

Hi to Judy & Lori,

Take care,

Don't you just hate when that happens? never know what button got hit. our basement floor has a very slight tilt too. I got so frustrated with the ball rolling away, I bought a different one with 'stay-ball" technology. there is a bit of loose material inside the ball, enough to always settle to the bottom and keep the ball from rolling. it makes the ball heavier. I've had it a long time, not sure if still available. it put an end to trying to sit and missing the ball because it moved. setting the ball on a yoga mat usually works too.
precooking vegies is easier than trying to figure how long to cook each vegie after it's in the sauce. things like sweet potatoes and squash take a long time, while peas and spinach are done in a few seconds. I saute tofu cubes to firm them up. same way with chicken. if its precooked, no worries about it being cooked long enough. cashews are great on top. pretty caloric though. I like cilantro.

did some tree work yesterday, enough to call it a workout. we were rolling tree segments downhill to where we will split and stack them. it is way more work than it sounds. DH works way harder than I do but I do enough. I got a couple log sections stuck in the blackberries. a plant from hell.... evil, nightmarish. the thorns and the vines grab everything and stick you thru layers of clothing. they are ubiquitous here and absolutely totally nasty.
we're going on a walk/hike this morning.

Today is a rest day for me. Deb, I hate it when I write out a post then lose it! The bottled sauces sound good for a quick meal. I try to keep something quick on hand for when I don’t have time to cook. I keep one riser close by when I use the stability ball and I rest the ball there. It will certainly roll away if you aren’t careful.

Hello to everyone and have a wonderful day.

This morning I did Kelly Coffey Athletic Conditioning workout #2 stretch. This was 25 minutes, 48 calories. This is my rest day.

Deb, I have typed lengthy posts and just had them suddenly vanish and I don't think I pushed any buttons. When I retype they are usually a condensed version of the original. I use my Bosu Ballast Ball that has weighted material in the bottom so it does not roll and also so it gives me a bit of extra intensity when using for some lower body and ab work. If it is for cardio though, I pick up my regular stability ball because I don't like using the larger weighted one for overhead stuff. The weighted one stays in place when I walk away from it. Otherwise, I do like Carolyn with a riser or I place my weights near the ball so they block it from rolling.

Valerie, when using my pressure cooker I cook the protein and things like onions with the saute button pretty well, then go on with the recipe with vegetables making sure I set the time for less than called for because I do not like overcooked vegetables either. It is much easier to add them later when using a slow cooker. I love fresh blackberries and remember picking them along the side of the road as a child. Working around the thorns would be a problem though.

Carolyn, enjoy your rest day. We are getting ready to leave for my grandson's friend birthday party in a few minutes. Its a fun way to

Good evening ladies,

Yesterday was a LEKfit bounce that had a great leg work interval and I finished with the band calorie cush. Today was Live Lower Body Hiit with Abs. I skipped the abs since the LEKFit on Saturday had a ton of planks and side planks. Felt I worked my core enough this weekend! Lol! I then did pyramid pump biceps.
Still undecided which rotation I will start tomorrow. Leaving it up to how I feel. But whichever I choose I plan to do for the 30days. Tuesday Chelsie is starting up working out so I will need to do the workout before she gets here.

The water in the basement was enought to soak the carpet in about a 15 foot area. It hasn’t happened in about 5 or 6 years. Wasn’t too bad to clean up. About 12 years ago our sump pump burnt out during a rainy period. We woke up to about 5 inches of water in the basement...now this was a disaster! Hoping this never happens again. All and all we enjoy the basement and glad we have it. We swap out the sump pump every few years and had a battery back up installed in case we lose power.

Deb...that happened to me before. No clue what caused it. Glad you enjoyed the play. My coworker and I go into a small conference room and I lock the door. I have a roku that I brought in so we can get netflix and we have been watching the series Beauty and the Beast..she eats lunch and watches and I bounce and watch while glancing at a workout on my ipad so I am not just free-styling. It works for us. Then I eat lunch at my desk afterwards.

Diane Sue...Thanks for the link to the smoothies. Going to check this out. Funny you worked out on your rest day. Hope your grandson enjoyed the party.

Valerie...I have a dumbbell rack in close proximity so it is easy for me to quickly grab what I need. I also have 3 body bars which I love..20, 25 and 30lbs. Makes it so easy. I have short thick legs. They have gotten more shapely the past few years from barre and bounce, but I am very careful of what pants, capris I buy. Whether for working out or every day office wear. I pretty much have to try everything on before I buy if I am not familiar with the brand.

Judy...can’t wait to hear how you like the facial toning machine. I think a friend of mine recently bought a similar device. Need to ask her what she thinks of it.

Carolyn...Today I almost did Body Weight and Bands. But chose the recent Live since I am starting a rotation. I am looking forward to this one. I like Cathe’s band workouts.

Have a great evening all!!

Lori, nice job on the workouts. Biceps was a good substitute for the abs ;) That sounds like a good set up for getting in your bounce workout at lunch with your friend and Netflix. I kind of pictured a rebounder by a desk and you locking the door and bouncing. Somehow I did not picture you doing it in a room full of desks and other employees. LOL I did the 30 day challenge once with the Young and Raw App and doing the green smoothies. Those smoothies were so filling I was not very hungry in the evening when I would drink one of those at lunch and sip on it half the afternoon. I like the way the set it up with shopping lists for the week and the recipes now. I don't remember the shopping lists before. Also they said you could sub another smoothie if you didn't like something in the one that was set for a particular day.
My grandson had fun with his party. They ended swimming. It was at a large YMCA facility. Cake and presents then off to swim in a fun looking pool..

We did a short hike this morning, not that interesting a place. might be OK to cycle but boring to walk. so about an hour and 15 minutes. later I did Pyramid Pump upper body. went thru it quickly, a first time on this one. I used cathe's weights but stayed with 5 lbs for one move they went to 3 lbs. I liked it but need to definitely "up" the weights. from 8, 10, 12, to maybe 10, 12, 15. or maybe just weighted gloves. will see if I get any sore spots. nice workout, went quickly while my curry ingredients roasted a little. I roasted a diced sweet potato and a package of diced tofu for half an hour and then tossed them into the simmer sauce. peas at the last minute. very easy and roasting firms up things so they keep some texture. made some brown basmati rice to go with it.
I don't want to get into making comments on clothing all the time, but everyone wore black or gray capris in this one, and everyone looked 10 lbs thinner. .
Lori I know exactly what you mean. my legs always fill up the space available. they aren't flabby just bulky. I've been exercising for a long time and nothing changes.

Good morning,

Yesterday I did Lite PHA 2. I believe it was 239 calories, I left the paper in the basement, The time was longer as I kept pausing to pick up a different weight, get the ball back in place and roll down. It was the first time doing it, so not knowing which weight to use make it take longer.

Valerie, I had never heard of a stability ball with that added feature so it doesn't roll. I like cilantro a lot too.

Carolyn, Hope you had a nice rest day. I use a riser to store the ball when not in use, but during a workout, it would seem just another step to take in between sets etc, to put it on a riser, then take it off. I think once I get the weight selections set up, and now know what exercises are in the workout, I will be quicker.

Diane Sue, using the old fashioned pressure cooker and trying to add something later would take a lot of time. I bet the Instant Pot pressure cooker mode is a lot quicker to release the pressure. Nice to have an indoor pool available for parties this time of year. I bet the kids had a really good time.

Lori, what will you be doing with Chelsea? I can't believe you are doing something from the rotation before she gets there, then a workout with her? All this in the morning before going to work? Yikes! :) Nice set up at work for getting that bounce in.

Judy, yes, would really like to hear what you think of that device.

Take care,

Deb, here is a link to the Bosu Ballast ball. Amy Bento used one in one of her older workouts. I have had mine for years. I was surprised at some of the reviews on putting air in etc.. I have never had a problem with that. I have only deflated it a couple of times and I have had it for 10 years. These people do not need the pointed tip on their pump to inflate and the hole is not the size of a nickel like someone was saying. Anyway, if you scroll down there is another brand with the sand for less money. I use mine more than my regular one. I am sure it will go better when you know what weights to use and have them in line with the stability ball.
Yes, with the Instant Pot you can just use quick release which is fast put something in and start it back to pressure cooking. It does not take long. When I came home from church with family dinner I had made chili using the slow cooker and though I had the hotter setting, but it was just warm when we came back. In 10 minutes I had it bubbling hot and finished switching to pressure cook. I had already cooked the ground beef and had it ready and set it for 4 and a half hours slow cook. It may be because I had it in the refrigerator overnight so it was cold and I had it to the upper fill line. I guess it is a learning experience because I have cooked with the slow cooker setting before.

Valerie, I looked at the pants on the stacked workouts and they really didn't bother me. I would probably not have noticed anything at all. I just tend to look and notice if I like colors or something is cute, The only time I have been disappointed with workout clothes is when I got the Rebounding extreme workouts and they were all wearing ugly clothes like shorts that came to the knees and were not really meant for working out, just every day wear, and Amy wore military look loose pants for her boot camp. It just did not look like they tried at all for filming the workouts. I still love the workouts though.

Deb my ball sounds like what Diane sue is talking about. You hear some “granules “ shifting inside the ball when it rolls. It makes the down side heavier so it stays in place. Mine is OLD. Reebok name on it. It works well I don’t worry about the ball rolling away.

I need new Capri pants now that waistlines are coming up. maybe that's why I am looking closer at cathes crew and what they wear. I hate low rise, struggle to keep them up. My legs are bulky. need a large for them, but my waist is small. Hip height pants are too big at the top and won't stay in place. Like Lori, I have to try on everything. they always creep down. I am constantly hitching them up. can't wear jeans without a wide belt. I am SO ready for higher waistlines. stretchy fabrics help a little.

I will raise weights on pyramid pump. I liked the workout, moves along quickly, but even while doing it, it seemed light. I added a few more reps in places but I will step up weights next time. loving supersets.

This morning I did LiTe Pyramid Pump Upper Body only for 53 minutes and 280 calories burned. My average heart rate was 118 and maximum heart rate was 161. I used Cathe’s weight for all sets. I could go heavier for some exercises, but not with Biceps. I could barely get through the incline curls with 12# dumbbells. I am continuing with the All LiTe rotation for another week to get more familiar with the workouts.

Deb, nice work with PHA 2. It takes me longer when doing a strength workout for the first time too. I have my workout sheet that shows what weight Cathe is using, but I have to get a feel for my own selections.

Valerie, I like the supersets in Pyramid Pump, too. I’m not ready to raise my weights yet. Low rise pants never stay in place for me. My favorite capris are a pair that my daughter (the runner) gave me last Mother’s Day. They are from a company called Outdoor Voices and I love them. They have just the right amount of compression and are very comfortable. I wear them every chance I get.

Hello to Diane Sue, Lori, and Judy.

I am slow getting here today. I needed to get out and run errands a tomorrow is cooking and cleaning and I have a ladies recipe exchange night at our church that I am going to tomorrow evening. Today I did Lite Cardio Party Basic Mix #6 main, calorie crush, and abs, 64 minutes, heart rate average 136, max 167, 5,373 steps, met 7.90, 455 calories. I then did Lite Pyramid Pump upper, 50 minutes, 205 calories, met 6.0, 722 steps, heart rate average 100, max 143. Total time 114 minutes, 660 calories, 6,095 steps. I used slightly higher weights than Cathe and pretty much the same as the last time I did this one. I am not going to take time to type it all out.

Valerie, with my stability ball you can see the sand inside. They said sand somewhere on the description. I think 2 and a half pounds worth? I like it a lot and it is usually my choice to use. I have another one and a blue one still deflated from Beach Body. Because they kept having the balls as part of the workout package. I have given away a lot of stability balls. I have a hard time with things fitting my waistline. I am like you, the low rise ride down. Things fit my hips, but tend to be loose around the waist. I wore pants that were given to me to the party yesterday and had to wear a belt to cinch the waist in. What is funny is that I have some royal blue Nike capris from years ago that are high waisted and sit in my drawer. They have a matching top. So fa, unlike my UA stuff, they have kept their elastic and stretch. I really do not know why I have kept them. So far the only jeans that I have been able to wear come from Maurices and some certain styles from Old Navy. Otherwise I have not found another that fit.

Carolyn, when I did the stats on Pyramid Pump Upper today it came out higher, but I took what my Map My Fitness had. I used 15# for the high weight on biceps. It is pretty rough on the incline portion, but only 8 reps, so I can get through it. I doubt I could go heavier as there is not enough rest in these. My heart rate was higher last time, but I did the lower first. Still you would think after the cardio my heart rate would have been a bit higher than Fit Bit was giving me. That is another reason I figured it lower. I think I need a new Fit Bit. Funny, a favorite pair of capris that I wear a lot came from an Old Navy online sale. They are a black and coral design with matching top. I don't wear the top so much as I have a Champion one that I prefer with the same colors. They are soft, not glossy, and fitted, but easy to get on and off. Not like I am rolling them off LOL

Good evening ladies,

This morning was a rest day. I completely forgot I would need to start rotation tomorrow. I like taking Monday as a rest day. My kitty likes ot too. :)

Diane Sue....yes complete privacy when I bounce! Other than my coworker. I am really good friends with her and she has absolutely no desire to workout. She eats and I bounce. We aren’t really talking since we are watching TV. Other than a few comments. We both love the show and are really deep into it and we pay no attention to each other lol! I make sure the door is locked so no one can get in. I bring workout clothes, change before she comes in and then change when se leaves. I have wipes to freshen up. I really do not sweat since it is a shorter workout and not crazy intense. I almost bought a Bosu last year but decided I would not use it as often as I should to get my money’s worth.

Valerie...great job on the upper body workout. I find I go heavier than she does in most of the weights used for these workout mbut that is what I loke about them. Easy to adjust up or down. I never liked the really low rise more mid rise. But I do like the higher waist now. Funny how styles come and go.

Deb...I will need to keep the workouts to about 40 minutes. I am going to do the Lite/Ice rotation I get up at 5am but usually start working out 5:40 ish. I just need to get going sooner! I will need to shorten the warm ups a bit and will not be doing the added core (bouncing works my core enough), plus I will not do the cool down. Thinking I should get most of the workouts in. When Chelise comes I will go right into a bounce using ankle weights and 1lb hand weights. I think this will be doable for me.

Carolyn....that is one of the weight exercises that I can’t go heavier either! I have a couple pair of under armor leggings that I love.

Have a great night all! Hi to Judy!!!!!

I can see a shadow at the bottom of the ball but I don't remember what is in it. I've had the ball for probably 15 years. I had another one that would always always roll away from me, so I took it to our other house. floor is flat there. I hate it when the pants inch their way down. I am always hiking them up. since Im short, I usually get capris because full length leggings are way too long.
Carolyn, I never saw that brand. I will check it out. I have the same problem with jeans. need the room for my thighs, calves and then nothing else fits.

I am most careful with overhead presses, I am SO cautious, and 12's felt hard enough. but everything else I thought was too easy. incline curls included. even the move where she went to 3's, I kept thinking I must be doing something wrong because it was easy with 5's. tricep moves are usually easy for me. no idea why, my triceps don't look defined , but they don't get sore. But side raises with the partial reps , those about kill me. that was Stacked... although they have appeared other places. I've been doing upper body workouts regularly now for a couple months. If I got sore I was going to stay the same for another time, but no soreness so I need to go up, maybe not everything but most moves.

we rode this morning, 2 hours, 7 to 8 miles with lots of hills. I have really improved my cardio with mt biking. things that I could not do at all are now routine. nothing dramatic, just regular repetition.

Hi Everyone,

Today I did Burn At The Barre, then Yin Yoga. I had planned on Cardio Party but the yoga was a better choice for today. My low back and hips feel much better now. We got about 6 inches of snow today, in addition to the 3-4 inches over the weekend. The rest of the week will be extremely cold.

Deb- I'm going to be using the Nuface device for 5 minutes a day, 5 days a week. They recommend taking a couple of days off. I felt a mild tingling type sensation the first time I used it, kind of like what you feel using a tens unit. So far I like it.

Diane Sue-That Bosu Ballast ball looks interesting. Great workouts today!

Valerie-Great ride! I really like the supersets in Pyramid Pump too. My favorite workout clothes are Lucy, which was bought out by North Face. I bought a lot of Lucy apparel when they were closing the stores and had everything on clearance. Their pants fit me the best. I also like Athleta and Under Armour.

Carolyn-Great workout! I'm still not sure which rotation to start. I'm leaning towards LiTe with Strong & Sweaty.

Lori-The LiTe/ICE rotation sounds really good too.

Have a good night!

Judy

Good morning,

Yesterday I did Rev'd Up Rumble, Time Saver #3 ( no combos). 30 minutes, 142 calories. I did not want to take the time to learn the combos, but wanted a different type of cardio. I thought the calorie burn would have been higher.

Diane Sue, the link did not show for the Bosu ball. I always have a tough time putting air in any of the balls that I have had. I dread doing it. Yes, with the original type of pressure cooker, you had to wait for the pressure to release on its own. A very nice and convenient feature of the new ones.

Valerie, the clothing they wear in Rev's Up Rumble is not attractive to me. They don't seem to match, like they usually do. I agree with low rise pants, no matter what they are, jeans, yoga pants etc. Always feel like you have to be pulling them up. How are you with the music in the Lite series?

Carolyn, I am doing all LITE workouts too, although not following the rotation. I may do that starting next week. I want to try all the workouts first. I can't wear workout capris...I don't like anything that is skin tight. I like the loose yoga pants.

Lori, what time to you start work? I remember when I worked out before work, I got up at 4:30 to do a 30-45 minute workout. I had to be there by 8. What TV show are you watching while you do your lunchtime workout? You may have mentioned it but it went by me.

Judy, nice job on the workouts! mmm... at tens unit for the face, that sounds interesting. We are going to be extremely cold here too for the rest of the week. The high tomorrow and Thursday will be about 5-6 degrees, the wind chill could get to -40.

Take care,

This morning I did Strong Body Stacked Sets Lower + Extended Stretch 1 for 55 minutes and 286 calories burned. My average heart rate was 121 and maximum heart rate was 152.

Deb, great job with Rev’d Up Rumble, no combos. The combos in that workout are actually fairly simple compared to her other kickboxing workouts. I think that’s what helps to get the calorie burn up.

Lori, your setup at work sounds perfect for a lunch time workout. It’s great that you can do that.

Judy, Burn at the Barre and Yin Yoga are a good combination.

Valerie, congratulations on increasing your cardio endurance with the mountain biking. Regular repetition is how you get there.

Diane Sue, good job with Cardio Party and Pyramid Pump Upper. A recipe exchange sounds like a fun evening. Will there be foods there from the recipes?

Stay warm and be safe everyone.

New #219
This morning I wasted some time deciding on lower body and should have done what I had planned is what I ended up doing after trying different workouts only to see they had moves that might set my hip off again. Workout was Coffey Fit Raw Intervals #2 with 5# dumbbells and 2# weighted gloves, 42 minutes (actual 35 minute as I started with the warm up from another workout) , heart rate average 118, max 155, met 6.0, 213 calories, 2080 steps. I then did Kelly's Build and Burn Lower Body Tabata 27 minutes, met 6.0, 154 calories, heart rate average 116, max 159, 1,289 steps. I finished off with Lite bonus extended stretch #1, 13 minutes, 46 calories, met 3.5, 45 steps.
Raw Intervals Circuit #2 all moves done and then all repeated with a few alterations
plank pulls/plank jacks
biceps run curls(hammer first time through then straight curls the second time
legs lunge switch holding dumbbells
rope/jack/knee/knee cardio
lateral raise/ lateral raise single arms
frog squat lunge left and right (Kelly puts down the weights second time, but I kept them)
upper cuts jump forward jump back
triceps standing overhead extensions/ triceps pull to chest overhead to extensions
squat pops/ squat pops with heel clicks (Kelly puts down the weights second time through, but I kept them)
curtsy/scales alternating sides
plank /star raise arm

Split stance plyo pops body weight 4 sets
plie variations 15# dbs 4 sets
wide stance deadlift squat ups 15# dbs 4 sets
bridges 8 sets (I used a 15# db over hips)

I will be back in a little while. I need to get a few things done first.

Lori, relaxed rest days are nice :) I like my Bosu and my Bosu Ballast Ball. I was thinking that maybe it was the pump to the Bosu that I have been using to blow up the ball. It is just a round tube and does not have a pointed tip like most stability ball pumps have. I just know I have never had a problem with airing it up. I have quite a few Bosu workout dvds and there are workouts on YouTube. I think Yvette Bachman has some. It is non impact if you are not jumping off and on. I haven't seen too much of that. Mindy Mylrea has a really tough Bosu workout on a set of dvds I have. The other people she has working out with her modify. I don't know many who have the bubbly energy that she seems to have. It sounds like you have a perfect set up for your lunch time workouts :)

Valerie, most weight work with the partials and low ends burn and bother me. I am not a real fan, but when they are on the workouts, I lighten up and do them. Shoulders used to be so easy for me, but now I have to lighten up from what I used to do. I am always walking around pulling up my pants by the belt loops if they have them.

Judy, more snow does not sound pleasant to me. It is sunny and cold here, but in the low 40's. Yesterday it felt pretty cold while I was out getting gas and doing things in the yard, but the winds were pretty gusty. I just want it to stay clear when I have things I have to go do. I think in states that get bad weather every year, they take care of roads and people often have vehicles set to drive in the snow and ice. Here people seem to lose their brains or something. So terribly many accidents and people sliding all over the highways. I think when I lived in Nebraska roads did not seem as bad as here, unless you were out on some of those country roads and dirt roads.

Deb, that does seem like a low calorie burn for a cardio workout and 30 minutes. Even with a lower intensity cardio I would usually expect somewhere around 180. Not much more, but for me that is what it would be.

Carolyn, we are supposed to take several copies of the recipe with us, and yes we do make the dish. We get to try different things and if we want a copy of the recipe we can pick it up. Mine is a dessert though. I hope there are dinner items as it is dinner time LOL I was going to do a curry dish that I love, but wondered if people would like that. Anyway, my husband named this recipe that I used to make that he named Harvey's Mudd pie. It is Mississippi mud pie recipe that I have made over the years. He named it because he did the DARE program( drug abuse resistance education for those who do not know what it is) in the schools. He had a fictitious character that he made up called Harvey and told the children Harvey jokes. He took some of the recipe to school with him once and they loved it and put the recipe in their school newsletter for Harvey's Mississippi Mudd Pie. I still have to type it up as my card looks a bit worn and used. There is usually way more food than we could all possibly eat. We have done this once before. There will be some games and discussion as well.

Why I seem to stay so busy is beyond me. I would kind of like a week to just take it easy and move at my own pace. I have an appointment with the Arthritis Center Thursday that I am not looking forward to. It seems every week there are things that I did not expect to be taken care of. I need to come up with an idea for some sort of low cost gifts or something I can make for 14 ladies for a valentines gathering for the groups game day.
