Pentagenarians & Beyond: W/B 08/28/2022

we mt biked this morning for a little over an hour and a half. not busy which was great.

I am mainly a side sleeper and have improved a lot on the softer mattress. still going to keep upcoming doctor appt to see what's going on and whether this is the best way to deal with it. yes, a decent nights sleep helps immensely for exercise and attitude the next day.
 
Wednesday I did CDorner Fast Basic Step #227, heart rate 129/162, 172 calories, 3,756 steps. I then did CDorner relaxing stretch mobility, 31 minutes, 58 calories, heartrate 83/111,108 steps. Total time was 64 minutes, 230 calories, 3864 steps.
Yesterday I did CDorner Legs and Butt with a stability ball, 55 minutes, 270 steps, 157 calories, heart rate 99/128. I used 15# dumbbells and the heavy fabric loop band for this workout. I followed this with Raw your healthy back, 22 minutes, 52 calories, 87/112 heart rate. This was half strengthening with optional ankle weights on, and the other half was stretching.
Today my lower body was sore. I did Kelly Cardio Fit workout #2, 30 minutes, heart rate 123/145, 149 calories. This was hi/low with upper body and I used the 8lbs for all moves. I can feel that strength is coming back. I followed this with Raw Step Boxing which is also on the Cardio Fit dvd as a bonus, 29 minutes, heart rate 131/172, 159 calories.
Total time today was 59 minutes, 308 calories, 3,979 steps.
I couldn't remember what I have posted for workouts. Our vacation week is almost over. It has been nice to relax. I have ate out a lot. We went to a movie one night. I swear it has been years since we went to a theater.
 
I did Live Quick Fix Cardio and Compound Upper Body this morning. That upper body workout is very thorough and challenging. Uses 5-15's, but she doubled up sometimes so I grabbed a heavier weight.

I’m taking a rest day today. I have decided that I will only work out five days a week and maybe add one day of yoga. My 70+ years old body needs more recovery time to avoid injuries . I went to the Farmer’s Market early and was able to get the produce items that I wanted.

Diane Sue, you have done some great workouts this week. I’m glad that you are having a good vacation week.

Today I did Raw Box and Pump 7 with Get up and Move for an extra warm up, 36 minutes, heart rate 107/139, 127 calories, 1,914 steps. I followed this with CDorner Neck and Back stretch, 27 minutes, 42 calories. Total time was 63 minutes, 169 calories.

Carolyn, my 70 year old body needs more recovery and stretching. I doubt I will ever pick up as heavy of weights as I used to. My main goal is to be able to keep bone mass and mobility. I picked up a magazine with farmers markets and places to purchase and even pick fresh produce here in Oklahoma. We were checking out a state lodge/hotel at a lake when we were gone and I saw the magazine. I have got where I do not mind extra rest days. I want to feel rested and well, not exhausted from overdoing things.

Cathy, nice work with the Quick Fix Cardio and Compound Upper Body Live. Sometimes Cathe goes way heavier than I would want to. She has always seemed able to lift biceps really heavy.

Valerie, I am glad it was not crowded for your ride today. Decent sleep is so important if we want to be as productive during the day and get good workouts in. I am doing better sleeping in the bed as healing has went. I still end up spending part of the time sleeping in the recliner though. Most places do not have mask requirements here. The place I get my mammogram and ultrasound requires them. I still see workers wearing them in some of the fast food places. Mostly I think it is mainly just people that feel safer with them on. I do not go to the store often as I get most items delivered.
