Pentagenarians & Beyond 2/20

This morning I did KCM’s Cardio Fit, cardio only premix. That was 34 minutes and 211 calories burned. My average heart rate was 123 and maximum heart rate was 155. I really like the two workouts that I have done so far, and my lower body is sore! The cardio today was good and I used the low impact modifications.

Valerie, that’s great that you were able to get some skiing done even though some parts were not so good. Glad that you found your ski!

Cathy, I’m glad that the first part of your drive went well. Hopefully today will be the same.

Hello to Judy and Diane Sue.

Did Chiseled upper body yesterday and icy core. I actually liked it this time. I don't like the windmill move but it's OK if I skip weight in the upper hand. awkward position for me. everything else is OK.
this morning we did a hike near the water, the one we usually see dolphins on. no luck today. bright sunny day but no creatures around. its a fairly intense hike with a lot of up and down and a thin layer of snow to make footing a little tricky. 2 hours.

so I am still not losing any weight and in fact gained another half pound. mother nature sure is nasty sometimes. I reassessed and cut out several things I have been eating. I almost never eat all the points I get and gwet more points due to exercise and vegetable and water intake, but my metabolism does not give a rip. I took a scatter of nuts off my yogurt, added a small amount of granola instead. I measured to be sure. 2 tablespoons of granola. I wasn't overdoing.

almost lost skis before but this was a close one. when we stop and take off skis, we stick them in the snow vertically with tails stuck in. if its warm, they can suddenly fall over, and, being skis, they can take off downhill at speed! this time I was on my knees crawling under tree branches when the ski took off. ski boots are hard to walk in. too.

So apparently, I typed this and then didn't hit post. LOL Just finished Live Low Impact Cardio Hiit. She uses light weights, but I just made the moves more intense since I didn't bring any equipment. Waiting till Nick gets home to shower. He just worked his second overnight 11-6 shift in a row and they've been having freezing rain. Then later today he's supposed to go to Lubbock with the climbing team. TCU is holding off school until 10, so whether they go on the trip is dependent on TCU opening school back up.

And adding on, no problem with the roads in the UP and it should be all good to get home tomorrow. I'll pick Derek up at 9 to head home. Trying a new place and I really like it a lot. It's a small locally owned place that opened in the last year. And it's a good thing I brought food with me, because it's on the street that is lined with restaurants. Not the chain ones that are on the highway strip. These are all small places with a lot of variety.

Won't be a workout in the morning as I don't have space for it.

Carolyn nice job with Cardio Fit! New workouts are always fun to try out.

Valerie great job with Chiseled Upper Body and Icy Core. Sounds like a good hike today even without creatures to see. Other than ravens which are all over up here, the only thing I saw was some turkeys I had to stop for while they decided that crossing the road wasn't there best option!

Yesterday I did Cathe Live Legs w/Weights & Stability Ball. I really like the triset format in this one. Today I did 55 minutes of Peloton rides and the bonus chair stretch from Step Boss.

Carolyn-Great job with Power Splits and Cardio Fit. I'm glad you like them. I was sore after that leg workout too.

Valerie-Great job with Chiseled upper body and icy core and the hike.

Cathy-Nice job with Live Low Impact Cardio Hiit. I hope you have a good trip home tomorrow.

Diane Sue-It's great to hear from you!

This morning I did a short JS workout to get in some steps. I did One Mile of Motivation for 15 minutes and 122 calories burned. Average heart rate was 139 and maximum heart rate was 177. I went to Sprouts and The Fresh Market but not the outdoor market. It was too cold for browsing and chatting with the vendors today!

Valerie, great job with Chiseled Upper Body and Icy Core. I like that one too with the exception of those windmills. I use 3# dumbbells to avoid stressing my shoulder.

Cathy, great job with Live Low Impact Cardio HiiT. I hope that you have a good drive today.

Judy, great job with Live Legs w/Weights and Stability Ball, 55 minute Peloton ride, and Chair Stretch from Step Boss. That’s a nice stretch.

Waving hello to Diane Sue.

This morning I did PHA 3 and Stacker Abs from Step Boss and tonight I did 30 minutes of Peloton yoga.
We did some shopping this afternoon. It was nice to see a little sun for a change but it's still too cold to enjoy being out for long.

Carolyn-Great job with the JS workout. That's a good one.
