Pentagenarians & Beyond 2/13

Today I did Cardio Party for 39 minutes and 288 calories burned. Average heart rate was 135 and maximum heart rate was 162. It’s cold again today!

Have a wonderful day everyone.

I didn't really mean to me MIA. Actually kept meaning to post and then getting involved in doing something else. Thursday I did Live Timesaver Step Groove which is a good short step workout with all familiar moves. Then yesterday I decided to try Live Cardio Core Blast. Holy (insert your favorite word)! That is one tough workout Hiit has nothing on that one. Three exercises, repeated and followed by a core exercise. Five rounds. Breaks are often not short enough, fair bit of impact. Cardio uses loop, ball or no equipment, first four core exercises use disks. I did it, just modifying a couple of the high impact moves. Not sure I'll ever be able to bring myself to do it again. It's a really good workout with lots of variety, but wow was it hard. Back to STS today and I'm getting ready to set it up now, so I won't have to do it right before the workout.

Carolyn great job with Lean Legs and Abs and Cardio Party!

Valerie I'm glad you got a good long xc ski in before heading back to WA. Happy you made it back home without any problems.

I'm not sure I would have bailed. I love it in Montana. DH does the driving. friday the road was bare/dry and warm. the whole area, WA, ID, MT will get snow next 3 days with winter storm warnings. we either left or stayed until midway next week after things settle down. it's one thing to deal with "a" mountain pass. this involves more like 6 passes with other areas that involve long stretches of higher roadway that can be snowy/ icy for many miles. we usually avoid the risk and headache. temps in the minus numbers next week. ski/snowshoe isn't fun then especially if windy. We've done it before. you get all layered up, you can barely move. you need to get things just right. I save my energy for more moderate conditions.

it feels like spring here even though it will be cold. we have a lot of plants and bushes that bloom in february. going gangbusters. hellebores, sarcococca ( unbelievably fragrant bushes with tiny white flowers), witch hazel to name a few. daffodils are up mine aren't blooming yet. leaf buds are swollen. I will be planting some things this weekend. lettuce seedlings are outside already.

this is the time we find places to ski here. we haul a chain saw, do road clean up to get there. sometimes this is no big deal, others times the downed trees are too big or too many for us.

cathy that sounds like a rough workout. I don't do "dread factor" things for a long time now. that includes most HIIT. congrats on getting thru it!.

I've been MIA this week too. I worked 3 full days, one in garden and 2 in paint. I'm off this weekend. Today I did an hour of Peloton rides.

Carolyn-Awesome job with Lean Legs and Abs and Cardio Party. I need add Lean Legs and Abs and Great Glutes back into my routine. They are so effective.

Cathy-Great job with Live Cardio Core Blast. That sounds like one I don't want to try, lol!

Valerie-It's good that you made it home. Spring will be here soon and I can't wait. I'm ready for winter to be over.

Hi to Diane Sue

First workout of Meso 2 today. Chest, Shoulders and Triceps. Pluses no pushups! Negatives it's one of the over 60 minute ones. It does move fairly fast though and because of the rests equipment is easy to get set, no rushing.

Valerie there is definitely nothing blooming here! Though we can sometimes get early things during February, none of mine are doing anything. Snow blew around overnight covering the road again. Fingers crossed that things go well and a week from today Derek and I will be on our way home.

Judy great job with the Peloton ride and for sure l'm looking forward to spring.

Today I did Ramped Up Upper Body for 57 minutes and 298 calories burned. Average heart rate was 122 and maximum heart rate was 153.

Cathy, Cardio Core Blast sounds a lot like Cardio Core Circuit, one that I usually avoid. Great job doing it and Live Step Groove.

Valerie, it’s good that you made it back to Washington ahead of the bad weather. One more thing about that series that I read is that HBO offered it for free for a while at the beginning of the pandemic. That’s probably why you were able to see it.

Judy, it sounds like your week was very busy. Lean Legs and Abs and Great Glutes are both good workouts with no dread factor.

Have a wonderful day everyone.

carolyn I remember now how we saw Succession. we used to do the netflix disc rental, and it was on our wait list for years, but we finally got it and watched. we dropped the disc rental shortly after that. used to be a good way to get series and movies but then streaming boomed, and they started losing good choices and turn around got slower and slower. or maybe it was the PO. we finally dropped it.
I did Rev'd up rumble, and the core workout.
