oh no , so sorry about your dog. dogs can adapt to being tripods pretty quickly but if she is old that may not be smooth or worth it. my niece recently had to put her dog down because of a leg cancer but the dog was younger and adjusted well to the amputation. She only got another year and the cancer returned. age of the dog matters. we have had to take that terrible last step with the one dog and with several cats. nothing makes it easy to do except knowing they are not in pain anymore. There was a story in the NYT about a snowy owl that is somewhere in Michigan that has orange colored feathers for unknown reasons. maybe this a local story and you know all about it. I will try to put in a link but I doubt it will work and google is probably best if you want to read about it.
