Cathlete
Good morning, ladies. Well, I made a flying trip into town, which means I was able to squeeze in a workout when I got home. Yay! I did RWH: Plyo HiiT, premix that combines 1 & 2. Of course I did mostly low impact modifications, because no way am I doing those good old seriously high impact jumps that Cathe loves. I did allow myself a few moderate impact moves though, just for the fun of it.
It's a darn good thing I went to the store yesterday and didn’t wait. Shelves were already starting to empty. Some local forecasts say we may be in the range of 8 inches now, with areas in the Ouachita Mountains that might see a foot. Fortunately I am not anywhere near the mountains. And then once the snow is done, it looks like normal Arkansas winter returns and we will see highs in the mid-40s. Good. The snow will melt quickly.
I bought pee pads for Sara. My plan is to shovel an area for her and cross my fingers that she will use it. Sometimes she needs space to find exactly the right spot. Sigh. She’s such a high maintenance little punk. So I’ll try to shovel a big enough area, even though she’s a tiny little thing. The pee pads are for Plan B, if needed. I will lay several out in the garage for her. It’ll still be cold, but at least she won’t have to deal with the snow. Of course she’s never stayed in the garage, so it might not actually work. We shall see.
Cathy – good job on the quick pivot when Cathe switched to weights. I like the lower body disc workout too. I seem to go back and forth on which foot I balance better on. My feet like to challenge me and keep me guessing. Oh man, I feel sorry for Derek! I sure hope he found warmer clothes. My nephew, who was born and raised in Arkansas, decided to have an adventure after he graduated high school and is now in Laramie, WY. He’s dealing with similar temps, which is quite something to get used to. Oh yes, I remember you told me about your double Achilles problem once. How miserable!
Judy – yeah, way too much snow, LOL. Maybe the forecast will be wrong, but I doubt it. All of the local stations are saying generally the same thing. I’m really glad your leg is okay! That’s excellent news.
Carolyn – Don’t you just love LMR total body? It’s my favorite of the series.
Valerie – Bummer about the lack of snow. Do you want some of ours? I’ve often thought snowshoeing sounds fun. I wouldn’t like skiing though. I’d fall and hit a tree or something. I’m sorry your ankle and wrist hurt. Is that more arthritis? Yeah, freezing fog is one of the great joys in life. And let’s not forget freezing rain that weighs down the power lines and then SNAP, there they go. No worries – I do stay home. My current job is work from home, hallelujah. In my previous jobs where I had an hour commute, I flat out told my bosses that I don’t drive in snow, and I’d take a vacation day if needed. I’m north of Little Rock, and we often get more snow than they do, so the office might be open, but I couldn’t get out of my driveway.
Diane – I agree, they do sensationalize the weather. But it looks like we are going to get several inches, one way or the other this time. My previous dog loved the snow too, and we would go on long walks up in the woods. I miss her. Yes, I guess not too many docs choose to go into rheumatology. It sounds like your primary doc has more sense than the rheumatologist!
