Good morning,

Today I did KCM's new 30 Minutes to Fitness workout called Trim Down. WOW!. I knew there were intervals of boxing drills, and they usually do not get my heart rate up, so I work my Cathe weighted gloves.... All I can say is, this is one fantastic interval workout, with weights, boxing etc. I had to take off the gloves for the last interval, could not keep my arms up for the speed bag drill. Can't wait to try workout 2 on this DVD.

Lori, we are getting a lot of rain here too, our yard is like a pond. At least we don't have to worry about watering the new bushes! ;). How did you like the new workouts you did yesterday?

Valerie, I also am the one that carries stuff when we go places, and John is always commenting about how heavy my purse is, and he can't understand why women carry so much. But when he needs to unload his pockets, who takes the stuff? LOL...

Josie, I PM'd you...

Hi to Lynda, Judy,

Going to Best Buy to get our own modem to reduce our cable bill by about $6 a month rental fee. Yesterday I turned in our digital cable box, and discontinued all cable service, kept internet and phone only. My goal is to get the charge under $100 a month. :D

Take care,

yes Deb, sometimes my purse weighs a TON! I'd love to get by with one of those tiny wallet things but no way. by the time DH empties his pockets and loads stuff in.... I swear I need wheels to roll it. I've gotten to where I usually leave a lot of stuff like my hairbrush in my car.

he is insisting he didn't delete the navigation apps. I reloaded the weather app that he complained about.... that was easy. I need to stop at the kiosk when it's not busy and get some help reactivating this stuff. all I can think of is that when I turned off data transmission while in Canada that it somehow shut down the navigation apps. but I think the nav apps were turned off before this. hopefully, the guys there can shed some light on this. apparently it's extremely expensive to use data unless you have some sort of international plan.

good luck with the cost reduction plan. our cable bill is $140 a month for TV, internet, phone. dropping the land line didn't change it much so it's worth it for the much better voice quality. we don't have a premium channel package, just basic, but too many trees for satellite so this is the "choice".

Good afternoon ladies!

Deb...boy has it been rainy. Went to lunch with my son and his girlfriend. Now home just relaxing. I have heard good things about KCM new workouts. Sounds like you had a great workout!

This morning I did another blast from the past and pulled out Maximum Intensity Cardio. I think Cathe made this in the late 90's. Boy did it kick my butt!!! I wanted no weights and a tough cardio. Well I got it with this one. It's 70 minutes of non stop hi/lo then immediately into step then an intense blast at the end. I am starting with Cathe's october rotation tomorrow so wanted to do something different.

Ha! Too funny about us women carrying all our men's crap! Same here!! He shoves everything in my pocketbook!! So sorry Valerie about the navigation apps. My DH would be the same way. He would delete something and not even know he did.

Our cable bill is $255 a month. Yes you read this correct. It is ridiculous what we have. We have 9 TV's all with cable boxes and 4 of them are DVR's. We have a TV in our bathroom!!! The funny thing is I watch hardly any TV. Mostly news in the morning and that is about it. DH and DS are the TV addicts. It is out of control.

Have a great afternoon!!!!!!!

Hi Ladies,

Hope everyone is having a great Sunday. I don't let my husband add anything to my purse.
If he wants to bring something, he better have a pocket for it ;). My purse is heavy enough as it is. I only carry my wallet, phone book and phone plus a lip liner and lipstick but its still heavy.

Josie

Yeah... all the jokes about women's purses and guess what half the stuff is.... his wallet, his reading glasses, his water bottle, and whatever pieces of hardware we're trying to find match to at the hardware place.

wow that is quite the cable bill... !! we're big Netflix users...so whatever keeps everyone happy.

Good morning,

Not a good night's sleep for some reason, "Sunday Night Worries" I guess. Well after about 3 hours with 5 calls to the cable company, we finally got the modem to work, and the phone etc. At one point we had neither of them working. So frustrating, but I still am glad I did it.

Valerie, do you "rent" the modem from the cable company? That is about $6-7 a month on its own. I know most cable companies, Comcast and Time Warner for sure charge a monthly fee for use of their modem. They now let you purchase your own, and reduce your bill by that amount. Good luck with the navigation aps, hope you have an easier time getting them back!

Lori, 9 TV's??? Wow, that is something! I have MI Cardio but I don't think I ever did it! I did Max Intensity Strength...that is the same DVD right?

Josie, you have the right idea! If you want to bring it, put it in Your pocket!

Hi to Judy, Lynda,

Work, dog class tonight....if I can stay awake!

Deb, we rent it, think it's $5 a month. it was challenge enough to get all these pieces to work together, I'll let it go for now.
Off traveling for a couple days. will check in when I get back.....

Hi Ladies,

I will be doing a total body circuit from T25 today. Our cable bill Is up there with you Lori.
My DH has all the sport channels and w have 6 tv's and all of them have cable boxes.

I will be back later.

Josie

God afternoon ladies!

I am off today. Last day. Back to work tomorrow. :(

This morning I started Cathe's October rotation and today was rockout knockout. Shoulder has been feeling great so what the heck I went all out...wore hand weights the entire workout. I really like this one a lot. At the very end she does 4 drills. There is one move I really do not care for and that is the double kick. So I improvise and do solid kicks. Works well for me.

Going to try and take chester for a walk in a few minutes. We went yesterday rain and all. He loved it!

Deb....MIC and MIS were produced in the 90's. I owned them both on vhs and when I wanted to upgrade to dvd the MIC was included on the same dvd as rhythmic step and interval max. I think I have MIS on a dvd too but can't remember if it is combined with another. I have so many Cathe dvd's!!! The KCM new workout seems to be getting great reviews. Oh and so far I am really like the new workouts.

Josie...the total body circuit is one of the hardest of the alpha series. I felt great after doing this one! After this october rotation going to start STS again and incorporate these and some cathe cardio. I liked most of T25 and will continue doing the workouts but do not think I will ever do the program again.

Valerie....enjoy your mini vacation. Dvd should be there when you get back.

Hi to Judy and Lynda and Cathy!

Hi Everyone,

We had a rough weekend. Thursday I took our cat, Tiger, to the vet. He had stopped eating the night before and was lethargic. We found out he was in kidney failure and he has been at the animal hospital getting IV fluid treatment since Thursday. We brought him home tonight. He is very weak. I'm taking the next two days off work to stay home with him. I'm hoping and praying that he starts feeling better and eating more again.

I did keep working out, but nothing really organized. I was just exercising to relieve stress and get my mind off of Tiger for a little while. I ran 1.5 miles and did Muscle Max on Thursday. I ran 2 miles on Friday, 2 miles on Saturday, did Core Max on Sunday and a short Spinerval today.

It sounds like you are all getting some awesome workouts in! I'm wishing I would have pre-ordered Cathe's new series now. I'm sure I'll end up ordering a few of them next year.

One positive thing I did last week was to decrease my caffeine intake. I dropped an energy drink I had been using and am just drinking a little green tea in the morning. What a big difference that has made in my sleep! I still wake up a few times, but I am able to go back to sleep and I don't seem to have as many hot flashes.

Judy

Good morning,

No workout today, a late class last night, we didn't get started until 9:00 so not home until after 10:00. I did sleep better, I think not eating after dinner helps.

Judy, so sorry about your kitty, hope he is doing better today. How old is he? Yes, caffeine can creep up on you and do that. I try to stop any caffeinated beverages before noon.

Lori, great workout and with weighted gloves on! I am overwhelmed when I look at the number of DVD's I have, between Cathe and KCM....oh well, you never know when you might grab an "oldie" like you did this past week.

Off to get ready, take care,

Valerie have a fun and safe trip!

Josie, 6 TV's? We have 2, one in the basement that I use to play workouts on, and one in the den that hasn't been turned on in probably 6 months or at least since the last time I viewed my Downton Abbey DVD's.

Deb-we don't know how old Tiger is. He is a stray we took in 6 years ago. At that time, it was estimated that he was around 4, so we've been thinking he's 9-10. He may have been older when we took him in, since kidney disease is more common in older cats.

Good evening ladies,

Judy, I am so sorry to hear about Tiger. Breaks your heart when your animals are hurting and are sick. They are family.

Deb...that was a late night. Same here with my sleeping. Last night was my sunday since I was off Monday. Well I tossed and turned and was useless in the morning. i have just decided not to try and workout monday mornings!!

This evening I did Xtrain Bis and Tris. Love how this one really moves along. Total workout is about 45 mins so it is done before you know it.

I am liking the workout blender with these new dvd's plus my previous downloads. I combined rock out knockout with cardio kick drills. Looking forward to this one. I also made some fun spin mixes using all three spin workouts. I like taking what I love from several workouts and then making my own customized workout.

I have decreased my caffeine over the years. I still enjoy a cup in the morning and I do enjoy an afternoon cup but never after 3pm.

Hi to Josie, Lynda and Valerie!!! Valerie...can't wait to hear about your most recent trip!!!!

Good morning and Happy Hump Day!

I did not get up early today to work out...back in the slump again
icon_e_sad.gif
. I think I needed the extra sleep, did not wake up until 4:45 and that is late for me.

Judy, how is Tiger doing?

Lori, I hear ya! "Sunday Worries" can be any day that you have been off and have to go back to work, I was the same way when I was in school...hated Sunday night for that reason. Using the workout blender sounds like fun, although it would be overwhelming to me! I already have too many workouts to try to decide what to do! LOL

Hi to Josie, Lynda, Valerie,

Take care,

Good evening ladies!

This morning I ran 2.25 miles then cardio leg blast when I got home from work. Love this one from xtrain.

Deb...i wish I had the kind of job you leave for the day and never think of it again until you are back the next day. Also, after having the days off I recently did I have come to realize my home would be so clean and organized and I would be so thin!!!!! When I am out and not home until 10:00pm on a week night like you recently did I swear it takes me 2 days to recover!

Judy...how is Tiger??

Hi to Josie, Valerie and Lynda!

Hi Everyone,

Tiger is not doing as well as I would like. He's not eating anything and is losing weight. He has lost over 2 lbs :( We are now giving him subcutaneous fluids once a day and today I started trying to force feed him pureed food with a syringe. He is alert and he is walking around and using the litter box, but he just won't eat. He will drink something called "catsip", a kind of milk product I found at Petsmart. He will also drink the gravy from 9 Lives and Fancy Feast and also the water from canned tuna but he's not eating any of the solids. I'm going to call the vet tomorrow and see if we can get him something to help. I feel so bad for him, he used to love to eat and couldn't get enough, was always begging for food. Now we are begging him to eat and he won't.

I did Muscle Max today and plan to do a Spinerval tomorrow.

Lori-I really like Xtrain bi's and tri's too. I've only done Cardio Leg Blast once, I need to try it again.

Hi to Deb, Lynda & Josie,

Judy

Good morning,

Nice class last night but another late night, I can't wait for the weekend.

Judy, when one of my dogs had a kidney problem, and would not eat, there was this paste that came in a tube that the vet gave us, you squeezed our about an inch or 2, ( it was like toothpaste but even thicker, and then swiped it on her tongue. It had a lot of calories, and once in her mouth, she could not spit it out. It was called something like "Nutrical". Did they also check out his mouth, teeth etc? Could there be something going on there that makes him not want to take solid food? I hope the vet figures this out and he gets better soon.

Lori, good job on the running and then Cardio Leg Blast! That is exactly the kind of job I will get when I retire, part time of course!

Hi to Josie, Lynda,

Take care,

Judy... hope Tiger feels better. cats are funny that way. when they don't feel right they stop eating. Our kitties eat dry kibble only, never had any interest in canned. when the previous Puss was sick I got him to eat by making some chicken breast in broth. he never ate anything like that before or after. it was warm and wet, different from his regular food. he lapped up a little... a couple teaspoons. that got him over the hump. Hope the vet has some ideas. kidney failure is a big issue for cats.

we had a good short trip. went to the mountains here. tried a new area for mt biking that was just OK. we drive thru national park/national recreation areas to get there and got an idea of how extensive the shut down is. VERY. campgrounds are all closed. bathrooms locked. parking areas are gated off with "crime scene" tape with sawhorses blocking trails. looked like a problem. passed thru trails in the recreation area and all looked "normal" there.
we continued to the area we were biking. we rode the xc ski roads there, just OK. not a repeater. there were 2 forest service campgrounds and both were closed, gated off and taped. we planned on hiking the next day so drove to a trailhead, passing about 6 campgrounds that were shuttered. we stayed at the trailhead that night, woke up to rain so decided to bike some more instead. not sure which agency but connected to a private resort ...think it's private/FS land ... but this was open and fine.
did a gorgeous hike yesterday... about 9-10 miles, 3000 feet gain/loss. lovely fall colors. larches turn yellow before they drop their needles and look like golden candles, millions of them. loads of deer working their way down from high slopes. got into some snow but spotty, maybe 8 inches at most. sunny, lovely. that was it. drove past all the closed lands again, 3 .5 hours home.

I am so glad we didn't make the drive to Yellowstone. national forest lands are where we usually stay. just stripped down FS campgrounds. it looks like it would have been difficult, even though we know the areas well. this is all on the lunatic tea party.... I hope the public holds them responsible. like most people I am concerned about how this "shut down the government" tactic will affect the economy.

Lori. got the disk! thank you... check is in the mail today.

I want to hear more about the new workouts... I'll look back at last weeks thread also. Are there any individual ones I should consider getting? I hate step in any form. I'm not tired of the LIS series or the flex train ones.

Thanks for the comments on Tiger. Deb-I went to Petsmart again today and got something like Nutracal for him. I was able to get about a teaspoon of it in him. I also was able to syringe feed him some baby food. He was fighting it at first but then it seemed like he liked it. I also called the vet and she said to give him 1/2 a Pepcid every day, as he might have too much acid and that may be keeping him from wanting to eat.

Valerie-that is really bad about the campgrounds being closed. What a mess.. it sounds like you got some great riding and hiking in though.

This morning I did 30 minutes of Core Max. I'm finally able to do a levitation hold. It probably doesn't look as graceful as Cathe's, but I'm happy!

Goodnight everyone!

Judy

Good morning ladies!

No run this morning. My legs were tired from cardio leg blast last night. I did cross fire tonight and going to try and run in the morning. So far I like cathe's october rotation.

Judy....so sorry about Tiger. Hope you can get some nutrition in him.

Valerie...I hear you with all the shut down. This is ridiculos. I am also worried about the economy. It is fragile enough we don't need all this crap. Seemed liked you had a pretty decent mini vacation regardless. Let me know how you like pedal power. I have only done a premix and liked it.

I have only done a few of the new DVD's but I love love love Flex Train. Rockout Knockout is fun. I have not done all of X10 yet but what I have I like. I love that it is so versatile and I am thinking this will end up being my favorite of the group with Flex Train coming in a close second. I have not done either of the legs DVDs so I cannot comment of these yet.
