Good Morning Peeps,

Please excuse my absence and lack of personals. Another tragedy has hit us hard and I am just trying to get thru. Our beloved neighbor (aunt dottie) fell down the basement steps Sat morning and passed away. I was called to the scene and she was already gone. The last few days have been horrible. DH wrote the obit and we have family and friends in and out all day. Sorry to be such a downer, just wanted to explain where I've been. Tomorrow night and Thursday are the funeral so I'll be checking in only a few times over the next 2 days.

On a brighter note, today is my DS 5th birthday. He is a big star wars fan and recieved tons of related toys. Now he is talking like Yoda and it's a riot.

I don't think I have eaten in 3 days so that should count as "clean" eating right?? No w/o either. Once things settle down, I'll be looking forward to getting back on track.

I hope everyone has a wonderful day. Hug your kids, your mom, your friends, your pets etc. EVERY DAY. Heres ((((((((hugs)))))) to all of you!!!!!

Good Tuesday Morning Ellie & All The Peeps

Ellie - so sorry you have been dealing with so much - big hugs going out to you .

And a very Happy Birthday to your son! Here's hoping things get better for you all soon.

I just got back to posting as I was gone from being online last week. Its just been uber hectic for the Holidays and holiday shopping plus also dealing with the daily stuff of normal life.

DD's bf has deployed and she cried a bit and is a little down. Since I've been there and done that myself I totally understand how she feels as I dealt with my bf leaving now husband for the military over 21 yrs ago ;)

Today I have KBWay2 - I've only done it once so far.

Hope all have a great day!

Vilma,

My DH travels a lot, but is always home within a week or 2. I have no idea how you do it. How do you get thru when they are gone for such long periods?? That must be sooooo hard. Hugs to your DD

HI Peeps... it has been a while, but I peek in periodically to see how everyone is doing. I trust everyone celebrated a Thanksgiving of one kind or another? We did in the typical American way, albeit with more healthful choices than in past years. (Except for the cramming of girl scout cookies in the throes of PMS)

Ellie- I am so sorry for your loss. Please enjoy today with DS for his startacular 5th Birthday!

Vilma- It sure is had to post in busy times, unless we are procrastinating. DD is lucky to have your experience as a Mom who can really say and mean "I know how you feel"

Good morning! Sorry I have been MIA lately but I needed a break from the computer to deal with real life. Jeez, I hate when life gets in the way of my computer time.

I haven't been sleeping well the last two nights. DH is out of town and I am such a big baby when I am home sleeping by myself. I hear every little creak and freak myself out. Just when I get used to being by myself, he gets home and then when he leaves it starts again . To make it even worse, last night there were high winds here at like 50 mph and everything was blowing around. I had to go in the backyard this morning with my flashlight and pick up all the stuff that blew off our deck.

I know it's shocking, but I did a spinning workout last night. Sometimes I wonder if I should even be on the Cathe boards because I don't even really do her workouts that frequently. Tonight I am going to do the leg drills from Kick Max, upper body from Body Max 2, and a segment from Mindy Mylrea's All About Legs.

Ellie
- OMG, I am so sorry for the losses that you have recently experienced. Hang in there! We are here if you need us. Happy Birthday to your DS.

Vilma - I hope that your DD is hanging in there. How long is her BF deployed for? Is your DH still in the military?

Judy - Thanks for stopping by and letting us know how you are doing. I am sure that you have been busy with your family over the holidays. I hope that you enjoyed it.

Wendy - are you feeling yourself yet? I hope so! You mentioned the Food Network Magazine last week... I got mine finally (of course I had to subscribe) and I really liked it a lot. Lots of recipes that I would totally try. Do you read Cooking Light? I have subscribed to it for 10 years now and recently decided not to renew. It's just not where I go to find recipes anymore. I can still use the search function on their site, but I just don't want the magazine anymore. I did make a really good chicken coconut curry soup that was in this month's issues though. Yum, I love soup in the winter. I haven't gone to your album yet to see if you posted pictures. If you haven't, we're anxiously waiting ;). Oh also, I am a huge fan of Greek yogurt too. I love mine with some honey and walnuts and raspberries. So good!

Dani - I don't mean to laugh, but I was LOL at your last week pig-o-rama comment yesterday. I think that I was laughing because I felt the same way, but you just put it into words for me. I'm glad that you found a rotation to follow for the month. I really stink with rotations. I have all these good intentions and then end up missing a workout and freak out. I am kind of high strung that way . I'm not sure if I responeded to your James Bond post the other day. DH and I have the first on DVD and we didn't watch it before going to the theaters to see the new one. My DH is so annoying because he remembers all these details of movies for many years. So, when that Felix guy (the black CIA agent) came on the screen, I said to DH "who the heck is that". He just non-chalantly replied oh it's Felix from the last movie. How does he do that? Needless to say, I had no idea who the heck Felix was.

Jerry - I am so excited that you like spinning. It's my main form of cardio since I have some knee issues. It's great that you tried an instructor that you liked for your first class. The instructors can really make or break the workout along withthe music that they subject you too. I had one instructor that decided to sing into the microphone for most of the class. I didn't go back to that one.

JJ - are you ok? Are you feeling better?

Hi to Heather and Laura and any other peeps out there.

Morning Peeps:

Yesterday was PUB and I am proud to say I was able to increase my weights (finally!) higher than Cathe on every exercise. I have cardio on schedule today but haven't decided what yet.

Ellie~ I'm so sorry to hear your family has been touched by another tragedy. {{{{Hugs}}}} to you. Happy Birthday to your little "Yoda"

Vilma~ I've been busy with holiday shopping too but still have a long way to go. What do you think of KBWay2? I only have Lauren Brooks dvd so I'm looking for a few more. I plan to get AOS Providence and Newport plus I'm taking in Andrea's live class this Wed.

Judy~ I wish we would have had healthier choices on Thanksgiving:eek: LOL on the cookie cramming and PMS....they definitely go together! I can eat non-stop around TTOM.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to get into the holiday spirit? I started to set up my Xmas tree on Sunday but only got the center pole in the stand with no branches:confused: I'm just NOT in the mood.

Waves to all the peeps who follow: Wendy, Karin, Jerry, Laura, Dani, Heather, ET AL. Come back Robin & Catherine! Miss you guys:)

JJ

Hi Karin~

Thanks...I'm feeling better. We should have gotten on the computer last night to chat as I couldn't sleep either:confused: I finally took a Tylenol PM at around 3:00 AM which really makes getting up in the morning tough.

No worries about not doing Cathe workouts....I can go weeks without doing any of her cardio. I love my CC & KB w/o's and there just isn't enough days in the week to get everything in.

JJ

Guten Morgen, Peeps!

FINALLY I feel rather decent today! I got up at 5:30AM and did Push/Pull. Worked up a nice little sweat and this was perfect for getting back to things.

Houdini pictures are now posted on my homepage. There are some of her on Thanksgiving day and of our adventure shopping at the Swedish store. In the pic of Houdini shopping, she is trying to dismantle the Scandinavian candle holder and was pulling all of the Swedish candies out of the display....the woman who owned the store noticed her...uh...business and offered her some toys. Which Houdini promptly played with for 30 seconds and then went back to reorganizing candle displays....

Ellie--Oh, sweetie, I cannot believe this! I'm so sorry to hear about your beloved neighbor. Please know you and your family are in my prayers. On a much happier note, happy birthday to DS! Yea!

Vilma--Hugs to DD! I can't imagine how hard that is, but thank goodness she has you to lean on for support!!

Karin--YES you need to be on the Cathe boards because we are all pals through Cathe, but also our love of fitness and that's what keeps us together!!! Which Greek yogurt do you like? I LOVE LOVE LOVE Fage! Houdini likes the Fage 2 percent with honey, and that is so good. I also use the Tassos Greek Honey with Nuts on top (you can get that at Whole Foods, but it's like $7, but it tastes kind of like baklava filling on the yogurt)

I pick up Cooking Light from time to time, but have only made a few things out of it. I'm doing much better getting recipes from Cottage Living (they have great, innovative ones) and blogs.

I did make something from the Food Network magazine last night--the pork burger sliders! I tweaked it a little, and used lean pork and they were delicious and a nice alternative to the turkey burger!

Pork Burgers With Gouda Cheese

1 lb ground pork
2 TBSP fresh chopped parsley
1/4 cup dried breadcrumbs
1/4 tsp. garlic powder
fresh ground pepper
1 egg, beaten

Mix all of the above and shape into hamburger patties. (I got 4 medium sized burgers, but the pork is filling so it worked fine. If you like bigger burgers, I would double the recipe.) Heat a grill/saute pan over med. heat. Spray with cooking spray. Put patties down, grill about 5 minutes per side. Toward the end of the cook time, top each burger with a slice of gouda cheese (The gouda didn't melt very well for me, but my slices were a little thick. I ended up popping them into the microwave for a few minutes to melt it.)

Serve on whole wheat buns. I think oven roasted sweet potato fries would go awesome with these...

OK, gotta do invoices! Be back later!!

:) Wendy

HI Peeps!

Ellie: Oh dear! you and your family have certainly been put through the preverbial ringer lately. I am so sorry for your losses and pray that happier days are ahead for you all! ITA with the kiss & hug your (everybody)!!! you just never know. Hang in there dear friend and lean on us Peeps whenever you need! Hopefully DS5 will still have a birthday full of love and happy thoughts (and don't forget all the presents!)

Vilma: welcome back! Hugs to DD and her BF!

Hi Judy: welcome back and hope you have more time between now and the Holiday season to check in with us! ;)

Karin: you have a LIFE??? **insert sigh of wonder and curiosity** other than the computer??? huh... gonna have to get me one of those... someday... I hear you on the sleeping lately... we have lots of wind here in the desert also, but our new house doesn't shake, rattle & roll like the old one did! last couple of nights have been challenging for me, but for a totally different reason... seems that all the food I ate over the weekend is starting to catch up with me. Sunday night I had heartburn on and off, and by about 2am I couldn't go back to sleep. then last night I went to bed early because I was so tired, that I ended up waking up to pee about 2-ish and to DH serenading me with snores! THAT'S WHY I TAKE DRUGS!!! (legal prescription kind - Ambien)! so I don't HEAR him snore! oh well... as for Bond, James Bond... (don't remember hearing that line in the new Quantum flick) but I am with you... I didn't realize that it would somehow be such a continuation of the Casino movie to have such recall of it either! I have a horrible memory for stuff like that too... oh well... we got out of the house (shhh... and had popcorn!)

Wendy: hopefully you are feeling better and having a wonderful day!

Jerry: wow! spin class... I haven't been on a bike in decades... I think the one I have in the garage still has tassles and a banana seat! LOL! glad you enjoyed it!

JJ: where are ya??? hope you aren't still under the weather!

Anyone know what happened to Robin (Peep starter?) maybe we scared 'em off!

have a great day!

PS>.. only managed a 30 minute TM workout yesterday I was just so tired last night, but will switch things up mon and tues on FF's December rotation... I find that if I have something to follow it's more likely that I will at least get a balanced weeks worth of workouts in... if I do it myself, I'll be all over the place and have 3 Kickboxing workouts in a row!

JJ & Dani, ha, I think we were all posting at the same time.

Dani--Good luck with the December rotation!! The only kind I can stick to is: do lighter weight workouts/cardo OR do heavy weights/cardio. Anything more specific than that is too much for me. I live by the under 40 minute workout and most rotations demand more time than I'm willing to give. :)

Judy--Welcome back!!

JJ--Glad you are feeling somewhat better. I hope you get some energy back today, so don't push yourself to workout if the energy level isn't there yet.

:) Wendy

Good evening, Peeps..

I'm off on a 5 mile walk/jog in a few, just wanted to check in.

Ellie...sending giant hugs your way.

Hopefully will get a chance to check back in later this evening

One thing I'd really like to know...how do you remember to do all those personal replies, is there a trick I'm not getting?? Please fill me in!

Ha, Jerry, I get out a pen and a piece of paper and jot name, comment, and make notes before posting my personals. I could never remember everything off the top of my head!!!

:) Wendy

I usually have the thread from the current day and the previous day open and then I type my reply in word after I read through each person's comments since the last time I posted. I try to include the previous day's post with my comments because it stinks being the last one to post every day and no one ever replying to you. That sometimes happens to us Mountain/West time zone peeps.

One thing I'd really like to know...how do you remember to do all those personal replies, is there a trick I'm not getting?? Please fill me in!

I with Karin & Wendy... I do a lot of scrolling back and forth... when the threads get to be 2 pages long, I'm basically screwed! cuz I don't remember squat! I usually end up opening a 2nd window and flip back and forth between them so I can see other posts... during a reply, if it is still on the first post, you can display all the previous posts down below where it says "TOPIC REVIEW" this will display the posts but not the signatures... I think you set this up in your User CP info on how to have thread replies display, but not sure.. Mine just always does and I just got used to it...

another option is to just click on the "QUICK REPLY" next to the "QUOTE & OFF" buttons and it will leave the posts as they appear in the thread with signatures... the only thing is that you don't have access to the Smiles, but can still enter them manually...

Wendy: I never thought about the pencil/paper thing! Might have to try that... I often wondered how people remembered everything... I remember when we all joined the Peeps and all did a "all about me" thread and I started to print out everyones bios, but soon that got lost in the shuffle... now I just try to remember and get to "know" the regulars! :)
