Peeps in the House - Tuesday

Catherine- I hope you pet is not in much pain

She really doesn't seem to be in pain. Occasionally she'll jump quickly like somthing is bothering her. I assume it's a twinge of pain, but recovers. She still loves her walks and is slowing down a bit. But for the most part I think she's as active as most 12 year olds are :)

JJ, we had a great time at Oktoberfest. The beer was great. I most had Spaten Oktoberfest. They were having a beer holding contest when we got there. You had to hold a couple mugs in each hand at chest level as long as you could. I think Cathe should incorporate that into her workouts.

Well Ladies I had a great run and then had to....
jump in the shower and go out again .....
go to the doctor's w/ DH , .....
pick up DD from campus,.....
drop her off at home,.....
pick up dh from doctor's office, ......
then out to take dh's car for oil change and......
had a not so good for me lunch consisting of a cheese steak sandwich with fries  I didn't eat the hogie sandwich bread.

So I totally screwed up my meal plan of eating better argh lol

LaDonna how was your run?

Beth Do you Zumba? I really would like to get into Zumba sounds like fun. I may need to cave and get the dvds. Here's hoping you get more calls to sub at the schools.

Ellie your story is indeed fascinating - I love genetics also so interesting! So no I don't find your story boring at all!

Kel
thanks regarding my dd - she only had her driver's licesnce for 3 weeks before she ended up in a ditch. Thank goodness for our car insurance and dd is paying for the deductible and any fees she'll need to pay at her court apperance. She was coming home from work after she closed the store and thought she forgot to lock the back door so did a u-turn too quickly and ended up in a ditch at 15 min past midnight. She was quite shaken up.

JJ Hey there! CC forums have been a bit quiet lately but I'll be swinging by over there sometime today I ended up doing a CC mish mosh of V1 & 2 :)

Big Hellos going out to Heather, Catherine, Nancy, Liann, Boilergal, Judy, Shelley(good luck w/ that PMS I get very evil spitting venom myself here during that time), and all who follow!

JJ, I would do a bit of both actually and work on decreasing the rest time between reps. I actually stink at pullups- chinups are much easier for me. Keep working at it ;)

Thanks Catherine~
I'll just keep plugging away with both methods.

I would buy THAT workout!! Lifting and hydrating all together:eek:

Hi everyone. I've read all the posts but I don't have time for personals right now :(. I did a power walk today and now we are just hanging out at home with my dad. He's getting ready for his surgery tomorrow and we are all just hoping that all goes well.

So anywhoooo......

Because they have such sensitive eyes and skin, we can't be outside during peak sun hours and they wear SPF swimsuits that cover most of their body. (Catherine, I'm sure the dermatlogy nurse in you is clapping her hands right now.) So they wear glasses that transition to sunglasses and hats etc etc.

Well I was really stressed over the last few years between bullying and trying to find indoor play areas and my husband traveling etc etc etc. (I hope you are all getting all the etc's cause there are lots of them...) So I went to a therapist to try and reduce some of my stress. He gave me suggestions, really stupid ones I might add, like "Take deep breaths", "Imagine yourself on your favorite beach" Go out for a walk"
Yeah like I want to saran wrap 2 kids and head out for a "fun filled" walk in the park!!! So I fired him.

The next guy told me to find a hobby and meet new friends. I guess he meant in my next lifetime. I told him, I'm 40 yrs old, I 've had the same friends my entire life and then some. I have a great family and great nursing care for my younger son who also needs a pacemaker, but that's one big ETC.
Fired him too.

Finally, I found a woman therapist who told me to get exercise tapes and do them at home. I said " Do I look fat in this stress"??? And she laughed and said. Just do it. So I bought Buns of Steel and off I went. Pretty soon I was like Oh TamiLee whoever I could soooo kick your butt and started looking for something more advanced. Found CATHE!!!!. Hated the bitch the minute I put Stepworks in. Was like Yeah right, I could ever do THAT kind of exercise.
But I did it. And I did Stepworks for 4 months straight. (Yup, gonna need new knees in my 50's). And then I started ordering everything she made. That was 5 years ago and I have never looked back.

So, here I am today on a check in page feeling good about my accomplishments. But the best part was that I was able to reduce my stress in the healthiest way possible. And set a good example for my boys. They are both junior black belts in karate (indoor sport!!!) And I have found some great friends, gone on a road trip, and became a PEEP.

So there's my story Peeps, thanks for all the encouragement and for listening to me. NOW I feel pretty good about this exercise thing, but i still wouldn't piss any of you off, cause from what I've read, you could so take me down!!!!! I couldn't do a chin up if you all lifted me.

But never say never
elliemom :D:D

I had to do my run inside on the TM because it has been raining all day. :(
Shelley, I used to get raging PMS. My gyno has me taking the anti-depressant Lexapro for 2 weeks out of the month. It seems to be doing to the trick for me. One of the good side effects from it is that it completely kills my appetite. ANd my appetite gets out of control during TTOM.

Ellie I so throughly enjoyed your posts on here today. I loved your last post and what you thought of Cathe lmao!

Poor woman gets an earful here too when she has me groaning lol

LaDonna I may need to talk to my doctor about that. I do have depression but have been weaned off my meds for a year and a half but if anything helps with my raging PMS time I'll consider it.

Well Peeps have a great evening - Hasta Manana!

ellie, I'm glad you finally found someone with a suggestion for stress relief that works. High fives to your boys on their karate.

Crissy, I can't see your picture album? DH has a couple Britiish sports cars that have been "muscled." He has a TR6 with a Chevy small block and an MGB with a high output quad four. It's fun to see people's faces when we start either of them up. We go up to Watkin's Glen in New York state each year for the Vintage Grand Prix Festival and always get lots of comments about the cars.

I'm all done with PUB and in a much better frame of mind then earlier. (Stress relief, ellie!) My diet has sucked lately, but I've decided to stop beating myself. I'm over fifty, but healthy and fit. I'm going to try being kinder to myself and see where that gets me. See you all tomorrow, peepers.

ETA: Chrissy, I found your pictures. Cool!

Oh My Gosh Robin, I would love to see pictures sometime if possible. I bet people have that "what the he!!!!" look on their faces when that little TR6 fires up!
Especially with a Chevy small block, that is too cool!!! I bet you guys have alot of fun!

Sorry I love cars :p

I love the TR6 especially the 1969, I like that body style.

I had a friend and she had a MG Midget- but not with no Quad four :p I believe it was a 1979.

Thanks for sharing, I'll have to get better pictures in my album.
