Ellie-I am ALWAYS sore after a kickbox workout. Always, without fail. It just works the upper body muscles like weights simply cannot! And I secretly love it! LOL FEEL BETTER!

HEather-I'm finishing up back tomorrow, so I'll check out that exercise!

Yes, Gayle....can't wait to hook up again!!! You are so right about KB and the way it works upper body, I love the twisting torso moves, then adding jabs to the twisting, like an old fashioned washing machine!

Hi all! Wow, what a long day! I did manage to do my workout this morning, although I did poop out 10 minutes before the end. But some is better than none, right? And I did more than some!

DD is still feeling poorly, but not as bad as this morning, I think. Hopefully another day of rest will help. Thank goodness DH did not have any work today or tomorrow! And he was such a sweetheart...he made a full dinner, including peeling, chopping, and boiling potatoes so I could mash them to have with meatloaf tonight (mmm...it is the BEST recipe!).

I was feeling really worn out by the end of work today, but I think that's more from being up last night and stress from yesterday than catching what DD has. I'm sure I'll feel better tomorrow as I don't feel sick, just worn down.

Dani, wait till you eat 5-6 meals a day on a regular basis...you will never know how you didn't do it! I can't eat only 3 meals a day, I have to bring a cooler with me to work to bring lunch in addition to 2 snacks. But I have to be creative as I have no access to a fridge with room (have to use ice packs). And like Phyllis, I work in a lab and cannot have a drink with me. I have to walk all the way across the building to my desk to have a drink, so I make it count!

I'm off to relax tonight. We'll see how I feel in the morning to see which workout I do.
 
Well, I guess I should start where I left off this morning, when I was so rudely interrupted by WORK! :p Workout done BTW... I did DM cardio premix and it felt good to get moving again!

Phyllis: I totally agree with you about the water! I MUST drink it iCE cold or nothing at all. I have a mini fridge in my office and it has bottles of water in it at all times… Today, I tried to add one of those Emercen-C lemon packets, and that was a bit strange, but at least it gave it some flavor… funny thing is that I only like lemon in my water SOME times!

Gayle! Way to go on getting the majority of your 1RM’s done! I printed the new 8 page SNM instructional page today, does that count? LOL!!! Well, I have to confess that I haven’t done ANYTHING in the past 2 weeks, so if you have done ANYTHING you are SO ahead of me!

JJ: I am so jealous about the game! I would LOVE to go to another one, although I would greatly prefer one in a warmer climate! Will have to check out the Arizona schedule next season, however, can’t say that I root much for the Cardinals… I really liked Taylor Hicks from AI, but I am not sure that I would have purchased any of his music… Like you and Phyllis, I too have noticed a GREAT need to ‘wee’ with the extra water intake, but apparently that feeling goes away the more you drink, so apparently the goal is to push your way though the initial urges and keep drinking! Good job on your 1RM testing! Hope your hip continues to improve!

Jerry: You are definitely “rollin’” today! GSL is TOUGH!

Karin: good job on the eating! I totally hear you on the work thing… while I worked a few days last week, it was still very quiet but was nothing like today! I could hardly keep up with all the calls and emails today! That’s tough with the sniffles… if I hate anything is someone sniffing… blow your nose already! Lol! Take it easy and eventually it will go away… try to do too much, too soon, and you will only prolong your suffering (and DH’s too)…

Wendy: oh, Houdini is definitely testing you BIG time! Lol! My grandma told me stories of when I was little and all the funny/challenging things I used to do to my grandparents! One night I managed to take a whole jar of Vaseline and smeared it all over myself, my sheets, the wall… because I didn’t want to take a nap! I also spent a week with my BFF from college when her DD was just about 2 years old and they just had their 2nd baby… she was sorta high maintenance anyway (DD that is) and would not go to bed… she would stand at the doorway and scream at the top of her lungs, one night for an hour! Sounds like your Nanny Jo suggestions are working though… will see what you have to say tomorrow about tonite!  And you mean to tell me that Wade Phillips is STILL with the Cowboys???? I would have thought that he would be Gone, baby Gone with the way this season turned out! DH can’t stand him! Thanks for your encouragement! I think I did good today! So did you! With your eating AND your DVR!!! I am very proud of you!!! You’ll be techno-savvy in NO time! Sorry, you are on your own for The Bachelor!

Heather: I’m so glad that you were able to do your workout with no foot pain! I was also greatly surprised and relieved that my workout was knee pain free as well! I have been on my meds for that since before Christmas, so I’m happy it seems to be working! Good for you on making your meals and snacks ahead of time. I think that is what trips me up so much is not being prepared… Your meals sound divine! Good for you!

Jill: I feel your pain on the workout tonite! I did one of the cardio premixes of DM and it still kicked my butt! I couldn’t do all those hops across the floor and back, but did do the knee-up hops (sorry don’t know the technical terms! Lol!) Funny you mention Meatloaf! DH made some on Sunday and I made some mashed red potatoes BEFORE my New & Improved eating habits… Sweet of DH to make dinner for you! As for the 5-6 meals with BFFM… I hope I can figure out WHAT to eat with all those meals! I’m running out of protein ideas… might have to break out the PButter, but I know that the kind I eat isn’t the healthiest… I have tried a few all natural ones and didn’t like them at all… might have to try again though… I’m sure Jiff is frowned upon!


Wow! I’m tired just catching up with all y’all! But I am so thankful that I have such a great group to check in with!

Dani, I got a lot ideas from Eating for Life. I like string cheese with a cutie and lately, I've been eating 1/2 cup of light cottage cheese mixed with a container of yogurt (activia, usually). But my all time favorite is apples and peanut butter. And you know what? I'm a total Jif girl. And I'm okay with it. There are far worse things to eat.

Wendy, that totally sounds like what DD would do. It may be a tough week or two, but things will get easier.

After drifting into a coma between 7:30 and 8, I'm awake for now but am ready for bed. Hopefully I'll be up for a good workout in the morning as I will be sitting a lot at work tomorrow.
