Pamper yourself for a day.

If you had a day that you could pamper yourself doing anything, what would you do?

I think I would get a good massage(never had one), and a pedicure(also never had one.) I guess I would love to go to a spa center. I have never had the time or funds. Gosh! I could spend all day at one!

I just wanted to see how you ladies would spend that day or have done it!

A massage and a pedicure are definitely the way to go!! Then I'd like to curl up in a big, comfy chair with a good book and a soy sugar-free vanilla latte!

Ahhhhhhhhhh..................

Add a manicure to that, and replace the latter with a nice glass of wine and put that chair in front of a roaring fire... There's my idea of a good day...

Oh boy...I'd spend the day at a top day spa and get the works done. Massage, mani/pedi, hydrotherapy bath, wraps, then go with DH for a gourmet dinner in some candlelit restaurant :) Ahhh thanks for letting me dream!

I actually did just that for my 40th birthday present to myself. I took the the day off work, had a facial with back massage, manicure and pedicure. It was wonderful. It was also the first time I had a massage or a pedicure.

I'd love to spend a day at a spa too! I've never done that, and I think it would be marvelous! :)

I would also indulge in my favorite treats and not feel guilty. :9

I pampered myself today, and I had a French pedicure on my toes, and I also have a permanent French manicure on my nails. I detest the time I have to spend in the salon, though. I always set aside funds to get my nails done because, if I didn't, I would bite them bloody.

AH the spa!! I love the spa!! I would definitely do that if you have never done it! My favorite massages are the ones where you get the massuse to come to your home. getting off the table and sliding into the tub or bed is much better than having to get dressed and drive home;-)

Whatever you decide, enjoy yourself! you deserve it.

Kim, you really must get a massage someday! If I won the lottery, that would be my decadant splurge....a regular massage! MMMmmmmmm....

Ooohhh!! That would be my kind of massage! Little effort on my part.

I'm not so big on mani/pedis partly because I can't wear long fingernails at work but mostly because I detest the wait time I have while having them done. What can I do while I'm waiting there for them to be done with a mani? I can't go anywhere. As a multi-task oriented person, this is a real "nailbiter!"

Definitely go to the spa and get the works! massage, facial, hair cut, pedicure, manicure...oohh, sounds marvelous.

After the spa, I'd travel to a nice, intimate bookstore and treat myself to a good book, which I would go home and read along with my nice glass of red wine.

I would love to go to one of those resort type spas. Where you get up early in the am and go hiking, take a yoga class and then have the works done in the spa, followed by a gourmet dinner. That would be heaven!

Nope - no spa - here's how I would pamper me.

Years ago my in-laws had a condo at Lake Chautauqua, NY. Every year at Columbus Day, no one used it. So I would barrow it for 3 days - when the fall foliage was at peak color, grab a stack of books, some awesome jazz CDs, and hit my favorite winery on the way over to pick up a bottle of my favorite wine. It was just me - no phone calls, no noise, no kids, no bosses, no ANYTHING - except the beauty of nature everywhere you looked, and pure enjoyment. I would give anything for just one of those days again. That's how I would pamper myself.

1. Laze in bed with cup of tea and good book.
2. Have hot bath with face mask and listen to good book on tape.
3. have leisurely brunch, boiled eggs and toast.
4. Go to Borders for lunchtime coffee and linger.
5. Go to my fave local boutique and try on clothes, maybe purchase?!?!
6. Kids come home from school, and are in good mood for whole afternoon, evening, ha!!
7. Watch movie and totally lose myself in it. Take away from it one idea that makes me ruminate on life and feel optimistic about the next day.

I'm really not the spa/massage sort. I want peace and quiet and narratives to fill my mind and give me something to think about.

Clare

My splurge day sounds more like Clare's except I'd switch out the boiled eggs for a wonderful fritatta with tomato and goat cheese, and I'd go to an antique mall instead of a boutique.

I also like a book that I can loose myself in.

I don't have the patience for manicures or pedicures. I can't sit still that long and then I worry about messing up the polish. I don't like massages because just as they get you all comfy and cozy, the lights come on and you have to get up, get dressed and go home :-( That totally ruins it for me.

My DH bought me a day at the spa... Heaven! I didn't want to go home to kids at the end of the day I was so relaxed. My absolute favorite was the facial. The Aveda spa here takes 1 1/2 hrs for it. She put all kinds of creams on my face but the best was the facial massage and then while my face was steaming she massaged my arms and feet. That day I had a facial, massage, and manicure pedicure. It was all good! I want to go back.:D Vicky

Hi Kim! I did go to a spa once in my life. It was FABULOUS! I had a suite which when you walked out onto the patio you were right there on the beach already for your morning walk. I had a manicure/pedicure/facial. Also had some spa treatments. The food was the lean cuisine menu & drank some wine every night. It was just for a weekend but what a weekend it was. Came home feeling very serene. That feeling lasted for almost a year!! The next time I do this I would go to Arizona for 5 days. Total pampering! Kathy:D

If I could pamper myself for the day, here's what I would do:

1. Spa, facial, mani/pedi
2. Some sort of mud bath with a body wrap
3. Get my haircut -- gosh I need one now
4. Go to a bed/breakfast in the country
5. Shopping
6. Enjoy a delightful lunch
7. Relax and watch old movies (b&w only) for the remainder of the day
