P90X Rut Busters X Check-in Week of 1/31

Hey Ladies,

I did YogaX and then ran on the treadmill. After doing YogaX my whole body feel like "jelly" and I don't like that feeling. A good run gets the jellies out! ALSO, it is so freaking hard to do Yoga with two toddlers wanting peanut butter, fighting over the Wizard of Oz video, trying to climb on my back...I'm still getting it done, though.

GREAT JOB on those big girl push-ups! By the end of the week, I want you doing FIVE!!!!

Well, I better go read the newsletter for some motivation! Hey, did you guys see Cathe answered a thread re: her diet in the "Ask Cathe" forum? That was motivating! Also, Carole is a HUGE motivation. I always imagined her to be beautiful, it shines through in her kindness, but she is GORGEOUS! Her body is *tight*!!! She is a gigantic motivation! I'm not suprised she can run marathons!

O.k., ladies, if you haven't done your X workout...GET ON IT!!! Those muscles are not going to just magically appear!!
 
today i felt like i needed some CARDIO. Talk about BAD on the diet.
Lunch catered in at work, and not the healthy kind of lunch. I don't know what gets into me. At home i can resist all the goodies, but get me at work = stress= eat!!:9
So, i did 1st 1/2 of MIC then the step portion of body max.
I feel pretty good now. I saved shoulders and arms for tomorrow.

Christine, good job in the big girl pushups!!!

And all of you doing yoga x, i commend you!!! I can't get thru that long of a yoga session and for some reason, not with Tony. He's just not my Bryan Kest :) :) ;)
 
Ya know, I am so suprised at myself. I annoy so incredibly easily. If there is an annoying person in the room, I'd be the first to grind my teeth together but Tony doesn't bother me as much as I thought he would. I even catch myself thinking "that stupid little comment/tone should have me irritated to high hell...why doesn't it? Usually only the hot once are exempt and he's not hot!":+
 
Hey all - quickie check in but wanted to tell you all that I jumped onto the floor a minuet ago and did 8 big girl push ups and I did them just little deeper than yesterday (but not a lot)!!!!!! YAAHHOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!

Tomorrow when my upper body isn't sore, I may try to push to 10. Why not? I feel like Superwoman! I guess everyone was right and it is not only strength but form and "comfort."

WAYY TO GO GUYS _ even if the kids are on your back, the job is annoying you, the dogs are growling around your head over a toy (this one is me ;) ), etc....get it in!

You go girl!! Sometimes i'll give myself a personal challenge, each commercial of a show i'll jump down to the floor and do pushups.
Each little bit helps!
 
Super fast check in...I have a busy afternoon to prepare for.

I did Back and Legs and Ab RipperX then ran on the treadmill.

I am sore (again) from YogaX, it seems to get the middle of my upper back. Love being sore! I hope I am sore tomorrow from my pathetic attempts to do pull-ups!

Tomorrow is Kenpo. I think I HAVE to do ME in addition (no running). I am dying for a tough lower body workout. Going through a little ME withdrawl...starting to get the shakes!:p :7
 
Ima, you ARE gonna kick our asses. Sheesh! My visualization of you is the energizer bunny (only with a better body).

Wendy and everybody else, I've read at VF that Tony grates on people, but I think he's funny. "You want big GUNS?" Yeah, Tony! I want big GUNS! :p

Today I did my "gym" leg workout I got from Mistress Krista at http://www.stumptuous.com/weights.html. I warmed up with the P90X crew on Legs & Back and then did

Full squats 3 sets x 8 reps @ No weight/10lbs/16lbs (I'm just learning how to do these)
Half squats (like Cathe does them) 3 sets x 8 reps 50 lbs/ 60 lb/ 70 lbs
Lunges 3 sets each leg x 8 reps @ 40 lbs/ 50 lbs/ 55 lbs
Quarter deadlifts 3 sets x 8 reps @ 40 lbs/ 50 lbs/60 lbs
Calf raises 16 @ 60 lbs/16 @ 75 lbs / 16 @ 75 lbs. Those were burning!

Then I did Ab Ripper as best I could. I'm gonna need a nap today.

I must admit, I'm slacking. I haven't had a good week for working out.
I'm not going to dwell on it.

Do you guys know why Tony does his lunges with a straight back leg? I don't think I've seen that before. Cathe always bends hers, right? Do you think there's a difference?

You guys really are kicking butt!! Ima - nutty! I stand in awe!
I do love running too though - but for me it doesn't really seem like too tough of a workout when I do it. I just drift off - use it more as a relaxing thing then an excercise thing. I should try doing some intervals with different speeds and inclines. Then I'd pay attention!
 
My oh my was I tired this morning! I got up later than I wanted but I got it all in before work this morning. I will say this P90X and this check in has really made me quit making excuses and alternate plans on those days when I don't want to get out of bed, if nothing else!

Ruppie - I am hearing a negative tone in your "voice!" Buck up and come back to us! GET MOTIVATED! GRGRGRGRGGRGRRRrrrrrr!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Amazon - I like Tony also. He makes me laugh once in a while and he gets the job done. When I previewed I thought "oh how dorky" once or twice but while doing the workouts, I giggle.

Ima - first of all - You ARE the energizer Bunny! Secondly, this morning my middle upper back was SO sore (like you!). It must be a characteristic of this workout then!

Tonight I am going to hop to the floor and bang out ten "big girl" push ups - who is with me!?!?!?!?!??!!? Come on girls, let's do this! I must sound like a cheerleader (or "rah rah" as we used to call each other!! ;) ) but I am very excited about this rotation!

shoulders and arms for me today, and took a long walk with my dog.
I still feel like i need more cardio though, but just not sure what i'm in the mood for.


BTW, I just LOVE when my back muscles are so, don't you??? I have such a hard time working those muscles with weights, it must be something about these pull ups!!! And i've never quite got my chin over the bar LOL.
 
Oh my god. Did you hear what Cathe said about the shippments i am so excited. what is going to happen with this owesome grp. can i know.

Dominican - I'll still be here doing P90X whent eh Hardcore DVDs arrive! Some others will too and others will be rotating in the Hardcore. So, like your rotation, there will be variety around the rotation!
 
thanks for the replied. me too i am going to take a look at all my videos and then rotate them with my workout b/c already i am doing cathe anyway. ? for u. Do u have any idea what size of weight she will be using for the gym style. b/c i been look for a 20pound weight and it been hard for me. any suggestions.

Honestly, I don't follow the workout chatter too much. The way that I figure it, when they come out, I will find out everything about them! ;) But I bet that someone here or at least someone on the board will know the answer to that.

I just bought my 20's last week. Makes me feel really strong to have 20's now! :)
 
Dom, I can use the 20 pounders for lower body and some upper body...not much, one arm rows and double arm rows. I would bet she uses 20's in there. She is a tough little cookie!

O.k., I want to *up* the challenge...instead of 10 push-ups, I want EVERYONE to do push-ups to failure...on your toes! Would one round once a day be too much? Except for the days Tony has us doing a ton of them (this Monday is right around the corner). SO...I want to hear how many you can do to FAILURE!!! At least shoot for 10. You'll hate me now but thank me later.:7 I will await your reports!

Today many of us did Legs and Back and Dreya is starting to get on my nerves! I find her constant hopping around like a boxer a tad annoying, to say the very least. I read it as an "I am so tough" attitude when most of the woman here, well...ROCK way more!

My goal is pull-ups. I think I am going to try a few a day, slowly working my toe of the stool. Cheer me on!
 
where did you buy your 20lb weight. i been to modells and target and no luck at all. tell me for i could buy it this weekend.

Dom, I got my 20 lb and 25 lb dumbbells at Sports Authority. The heavier ones (my DH uses) we got from a fitness store near us that sells workout machines.

Ladies, I USED to be able to do pushups on my toes, but not right now. I can tell you this: I can do ONE to failure! Maybe next week I'll have built up enough upper body/core strength to do more.

You go, Ima, with your pull-ups. Have you seen "Elektra" yet? I read that Jennifer Garner does one-arm pull-ups in it.
 
Dom, My 20 pounders were a Mothers' Day present a few years back but I have seen them at Walmart, Dicks' Sporting Goods and Sears. I am not suprised that Target doesn't have them, they don't really "target" (pun intended) the majorly serious exerciser. You should be able to find them for $.49 a pound so you'd pay $20 for the set of 20 pounders and $25 for your 25 pounders.

GREAT! Don't tell my DH that Jen can do one armed pull-ups! He likes her enough already (mostly because she is a little toughy):7

IMA - I did 12 last night and 12 just now! I had BF take a look at my form last night. He said that my butt was up in the air so I tried to focus on that today. Still not very deep, but they are getting better and most importantly they are there!

O.k. Ladies, I DID do Muscle Endurance and KenpoX this morning. I am POOPED!

I am so glad I did ME...it felt so gooooooooooood! I like KenpoX (missed it last week while playing "catch-up"). I don't think the workout is strong enough to stand alone (for my taste anyway) but as an add on, I really liked it. I was really feeling it!

GREAT JOB on the push-ups! Keep it up...EVERYDAY! How is everyone else doing with their workouts and the "Ima Challenge}( "? I haven't done mine to failure today, not yet anyway, but I did do them with Cathe during ME, made it through but towards the end my form was a nothing to brag about!

Need to go outside now! See you there!:7
