Classic/Phase 3/Week 11/Day 3

Hey Xers, Grads and Drop Outs!;) :p :7

Nancy, I'm only bustin' chops with the drop outs comment!:)

So I have shoulders and arms/ARX on tap today. I am going to try again to get in a run after work. I am still not feeling great though so who knows what will ACTUALLY happen...:-(

BBL!

Good morning -

I have my *new* circuit class tonight. I still don't have it all figured out, but I keep writing down ideas so it should come together soon.

I have decided to take you up on your idea, Wendy, about giving the Doubles Rotation a good solid month and see what happens with the weightloss. After that, maybe change things up a bit. I won't stop lifting, though, that's for sure :) I love the "X" too much to do that.

Have a great day - hope you are feeling better.

HELLO to all that follow.

Marcia.

Morning ladies ..
(phase 3 - week 12 - day three - my version classic)

my arms are still sore from monday's tricep/chest .. yesterday's run was so nice .. it was wonderful .. th allergies kicked in though .. b/c of all the pollen .. but it was so pretty and a really good run. Today is bicep and back .. then tonight either plyo or taking the class on a power walk!!

MY HAIR!! :) I love it .. she decided not to do the low lites (low lites are a shade darker than your natural color.. (in my case would be a dark blonde) .. she just went w/the highlites .. she did a great job .. and the cut is great too .. more layers!! I think it is really blonde .. my friends say it is a subtle difference .. and that is what I wanted .. so guess I will take their word for it . I love it though ..

Angie .. on the heart rate thing .. Wendy answered correctly .. :) .. when I really push it my heart rate is usually somewhere around 180 .. but I don't get hung up on a number .. go like Wendy said .. more on how hard you feel you pushed v/s how quickly you recover and how good you feel .. you will know if you are pushing too hard .. your body will tell you!!

IA w/Angie .. I thought my cardio endurance would have suffered .. (although I am doing cardio training too) .. but my cardio workouts are much easier since the X .. seems my endurance and strength have greatly improved!! My run yesterday was proof positive .. I felt strong .. and felt as if I could run forever (alway that way when you don't have the time to)

Nancy .. get better .. you and Wendy both .. I hate a cold .. right now my allergies are in full swing .. so I have the watery eyes .. stuffy nose .. constant drainage and coughing that is more annoying than anything!! wish I could send you some of our weather .. but I heard on the weather that you are in for some warmer temps this weekend!! :7

OK .. better run ... see if SIL is going to meet to make the rest of our arms sore .. LOL ..

Have a great day .. and great workouts .. will check back w/all of you and those who follow later ..

:7

Hey Xers-

This is a quick note from your one and only "dropout". LOL, Wendy. I don't get offended that easily. It makes me stand out in the crowd. Seriously, I can break chops with the best of them.

I had to take off from work today. This cold has be down and out. Not to be disgusting, but this nose is dripping all over the place. How does it look to have the school nurse sicker than the kids coming in? I caught a parent looking at me weird when she came to pick up her son. Almost like....let's get you outta here before you get sicker.

Okay, have a great day. I guess I'll be around ALL day although I'd love to go to Costco and Pathmark at some point.

Nancy

Hi Ladies,

I did back and biceps this morning. I lifted really heavy on the biceps and hope it shows. This will be my last week of the x. Week 13 is the recovery week and I'm just can't "bring it" anymore. I ran for an hour yesterday at lunch, it was so beautiful out. I have my weigh in today. I feel like I've had a great week and hope the scale shows the same.

Wendy-sorry to hear you are feeling under the weather. Get well soon.

Marcia-let us know what you think of your circuits class tonight. It sounds like fun to me.

Nancy-Hope you feel better soon too.

Poochy-hope you and SIL enjoy back & biceps today. I'm glad your happy with your hair. You never know when you have a new stylist for the first time if your going to like it or not.

Angie-The reason for doing intervals is to push your heart rate to the maximum or slightly above. This results in your body producing more human growth hormone. I wouldn't get too hung up on a number though. Also remember to reset your hr monitor with current statistics including weight. This will help insure your HR monitor readings are more accurate. I also wear a hr monitor for all my cardio workouts.

Happy workouts to all,

Diana

Good Afternoon Ladies.

I'll be back for personals a bit later on but I figured I'd check in with my work out while I have a few mins...

I did Step Blast w/o the challenge. How fun! I hadn't done that one in ages. I am on a break from the X until I feel better. I can't phathom the heavy lifting right now but I won't QUIT this close to the end either so I'm just going to play around with some fun stuff for a few days until I feel better. I will pick up where I left off when I am up to it. I didn't have the energy to run after work...I needed a nap before my work out. Whatever is ailing me is making me very tired. :-(

Alrighty...I need to get a move on but I'll be back!:D

I'm so excited about my circuit class tonight. }( :7 }(

I have a workout CD that beeps every 4.5 minutes. It's specific to step intervals, so this should be fun and interesting.

Here is the layout so far.....any ideas, let me know.

Warmup - 5 minutes
Step - 4.5 minutes
Toning - squats w/military press (one motion); shoulder workout?
step - 4.5 minutes
toning - plie squats w/upright rows; tricep extensions
step - 4.5 minutes
toning - static lunges w/hammer curls; wall squats
Abs - 10 minutes
Stretch - 5 minutes

The class usually lasts for 45 minutes, so this will be just a little longer, but they won't care. }(

So , what do you think?
Marcia.

Hi girls

Thanks for all the input on my heart rate monitor question. I do need to re-enter my information - I forgot about doing that. I'm not really too hung up on the numbers, but I am on the analytical side so when something works I wanna know why! LOL I mustv'e driven my teachers crazy when I was younger and I now realize why my kids are always asking but WHY? I suppose it's not a bad thing though.

Wednesdays are complete madness! I hurry to get home so I can workout and then hurry up and get a shower so I can whisk my son off to TaiKwanDo class and run to the bank and grocery store. Whew! Then DS had a social studies test to study for so we had TV dinners and leftovers - ack! I had a piece of fish that maybe I shouldn't have - it's sittin in my belly like a rockx( Well, at least I won't be in the snacking mood tonight.:7

Wendy - I have saved Step Blast for either tomorrow or Saturday. It's a real treat for me! By putting it at the end of the week, it gives me something fun to look forward to:)
Sounds like something is going around:-( I hope you get over it soon and I hope Joey doesn't get sick too. Make sure to keep the fluids comin.

Marcia - Are you instructing a class for the first time? Sounds exciting! Your rotation sounds fun. Let us know how it goes.

Nancy - Nothing is more annoying than a nose that constantly drips. Then you get to look like Rudolph a few days later:+ I hope you get over it quickly. Did you say Costco??? There's some people we know that come up from downstate every few weeks and bring up the coolest stuff - we always ask them - where did you get that? and their answer is ALWAYS Costco. They say they don't even bother shopping anywhere else. They brought up crab legs and steak one weekend and it was the best meal I have ever had!! I so wish we had a Costco! The closest one is 200 miles away.:(

Laura - Isn't it amazing how the cardio stamina is after the X? I just can't believe it. It really doesn't make much sense to me, especially since I didn't supplement the X with any other workouts.
Hope your allergies get better - ever go to the Doc to see if maybe there is something he can prescribe for you like Clarinex or something else? It might make your spring a little more enjoyable.

Diana - I love love love back and biceps. There's nothing like the pump in the biceps!:)

Keep up X'in it all!!

Angie

OMG - OMG - OMG, I am completely cooked!!! I walked 30 minutes at lunch today; 1 hour while DS road his bike and we went up some good hills, too; then circuit class that I taught for the first time. Whew....my body is going to be in complete DOMS tomorrow for sure }( }( The class went great, though, I usually teach step class but thought it would be a good idea to mix things up a bit. Well.....let me tell ya - we were all cooked, but in a great way!

I'm off to bed......zzzzzzzzzzzzz......

Marcia.
