P90X January Starters Sunday

CLASSIC/PHASE 1/WEEK 4/DAY 7 (rest)

Nancy: WTG on the results! Who cares what the #'s are so long as they headed in the right direction!!!! I have a thick waist (you could say no waist too!LOL) too compared to the rest of my body....always have...so I know where you are coming from! Don't sweat it. We can't change the way we are built. We can just improve upon it and that is what we are doing! WTG! Awesome job! Keep it up!

Well, measurements and pics are done! The pics stink. x( I just take bad pics. What I see in the mirror looks sooo much better then what I see in the pics. ACK!x( ;( :-(

Anywhooo...I am not a brave soul who is going to post her actual measurements right now, but I will post the gain/loss that has been attained so here we go:

Weight: -1.5 pounds (I guess the 3# was a fluke. ACK! LOL)
Body Fat%: -1.1%
BMI: -.3
Chest: same (good thing, I can't afford to lose anything there!LOL)
Waist: -.25 inches
Hips: -1 inch
Bicep(flexed): -.25 inches (is it supposed to go DOWN? I'm doing 12-15 reps so may so!)
Thigh: -.5 inches
Calf: -.25 inches
Back: + .5 inches (is that a GOOD thing??? Does that mean bigger lat muscles?)

Despite the lousy pics I definately see an increase in muscle definition. Makes me very happy!:)

I never did X stretch y'day so I will doing it today. I can't wait to get started with the new weight work outs tomorrow! Also, in Phase 2 I am adding another leg day. On Tuesdays which is a cardio day, I will be adding in a Cathe leg endurance work out. I will start with B&G Leg Blast Premix cause it's my favorite!!! AIIIIEEEEEE!}( :7 :+
 
Wendy~ just snooping again on the Jan group.. ^^^^5 on the results thus far! EVERYTHING is heading in the right direction! Be proud / Stand tall/ & FLEX BABY FLEX!!!
FYI- I am so there with ya on posting pics.... I dont want to post "afters" because I dont have "befores"... I thnk I look great but that was compared to 90 days ago.... Oh well maybe at the next road trip some of the X grads can finally "see". Great JOB!

Wendy - looks like you are getting good results - congrats!! So glad everything is OK with you. Hopefully you have a relaxing off day. :)

Nancy - you too look like you are getting favorable results as well. Congrats to you too!! Isn't biceps a great workout? I love it too! I agree with you about the yucky yoga - I don't do the push up in between yet, but I did yesterday when doing stretch X. I do find though, that it is getting easier and it still gives me some minor DOMS in my legs although I'm not quite sure how.

SunnyD - welcome to the starters group! Glad to have you here.

It sounds like we're all having the same results after 30 days. I felt like I was much lighter and had much more definition than the pics, scales, or measurements indicated. Isn't that weird? I haven't done my pics or measurements yet but they will get done today for the end of phase 2. Since the scale was much more favorable this time, I also expect the other 2 to be as well (fingers crossed). DH commented last night that I'm losing my @ss. :) I was very happy to hear that since I've always had a big but! However, I would like to hear it from someone other than him because ya never can tell if maybe he had a hidden adgenda with that comment:D :eek: :p :)

I'll let you all know about the pics and measurements.

Traci: Thanks girl!:) I read about your results the other day as well. You did fab! I'm sure you look AWESOME! ^5's!!! So what kind of rotation are you doing post X? I am already thinking about what I will do. I'm not sure what would be best to maintain the results of the X. Any thoughts?

Angie: I can't wait for you to post your results! I'm sure you did excellent as well!:)

I can not believe that I am actually considering doing friggin' YOGA instead of a regular stretch today! YIKES, I am scaring myself! LOL :p
 
CLASSIC ROTATION WK 1

hello ladies,

wendy- again awesome job with your workouts! so tony has you lovin' yoga now, huh. lol. well i hope he can do the same for me. i can barely make it past 30 mins of yoga don't know how i am going to last for 90 mins.

traci- i read about your results elsewhere also. great, great job!! very motivating indeed. did you stick to the plan as written? or did you add any twists?

angie- thanks for the welcome. congrats to you on your new stats. how wonderful for you. so are you lovin' the X thus far?

today's workouts was plyoX and it's completed! i love that workout.

Hello again

Well the dreaded pics and measurements are over! I have to say, I'm not totally impressed. But, I guess I just want too much too soon. I do see some subtle changes though. I printed out the pics which I did not want to do, but I thought it would at least offer me some more motivation. I'm just floored every time I see my shots from behind. OMG - what a big but!! But I'm making progress there. Slow and steady wins the race right?

I so far have lost 2 inches in the chest:(. 3.5 inches gone from my waist:) . Hips have stayed the same, which I can't believe because they sure feel smaller. I have actually gained slightly in the thighs, but they are much firmer than before. I have gained about and inch in each bicep:) . So, for the most part I am going in the right direction, just slowly....

So, I'll be starting phase 3 tomorrow and am so excited! No recovery week there! Hopefully the pics will be better after 90. I'm thinking maybe I should re-do the X after the 3rd rotation is over but I sooooo miss Cathe. I think I will blend the two and see what happens. If I quit making gains, then I'll re-do the X as written :7 Time will tell.

Thanks for the congrats everybody!! I guess we're seeing some improvements.... Wendy, congrats to you too. Way to go!!!! I can't wait to get my body fat caliper so I can measure that too. I did get on a friend's Tanita scale once, never again!!! I won't even tell you what the results of that were. You went down 1.5%, that's great!!!!

Angie, I know your results will be what you're hoping for. I also know what you mean about the hidden agenda from our DHs. (lol)

Okay, on tap today is Back and Legs. I'll do it this evening. I spent the whole morning doing my tax return..I'm done, finally. I think I'm taking my youngest DD to the movies today to see "Because I Said So" with Diane Keaton. It looks cute and it's a perfect movie to see as mother/daughter. I'll let you know how it is.

Okay, have a nice day. It looks gorgeous out here in NYC. Blue, blue sky......but it's deceiving. I know it's freezing out there.

great results!!! i wish i had done pics and measurements!

today was shoulders, chest and tris... day one, week 2 of phase 2....

yesterday was P90X rest day... we went mountain biking.... it was a PERFECT socal day! WOO HOO! maybe the cold spell is over????? yes.... i pigged out at tommy's afterwards (tommy's is a greasy fat food joint... famous for their chili cheeseburgers and chili cheese fries!!)

today was another picture perfect day... so we did a ride into joshua tree national park... AWESOME weather! now i'm watching superbowl commercials and playing around on the internet!

Okay, don't spend your money on "Because I Said So". And, although rated PG 13 and I was with my 16-yr. old, I thought it condoned casual sex too frequently. I'm a prude, I admit, but I don't like what we're teaching our children these days.

Okay, came home and did Back & Legs. I love these workouts! I can't say enough about them. I'm so glad I bought this program. Everytime I do a workout, I like it better.

Ate some sushi for dinner (and a cookie).

Just wanted to check in to say I did about 20 mins of Baron Baptiste's Long and Lean Yoga today in lieu of X Stretch. I liked it. I'm excited to do it in full on Thursday!:)

I just previewed Chest, Shldrs & Triceps and Back and Biceps! YOWZAS! Some of those moves look friggin' IMPOSSIBLE!:eek: }( :eek: I will give it my best though!
