Our Cat was hit by a hit and run driver

Our, Bella Gato was killed by a hit and run driver on Monday;(
She didn't come home on Monday. She was very predictable and had a nice routine. For two days I was checking with the humane society to see if anyone turned in a wandering kitty. We even checked all the area roads on Tuesday morning and found nothing.

Then I satarted knocking on doors in hopes of finding her visiting a neighbor. Well it turns out around the block a young boy saw her get hit by a truck that did NOT stop. She was dead instantly. Another nieghbor ran to her and picked her up but she was dead. This very thoughtful woman placed her in a box and took her picture. Then the boy's father burried her. I was able to identify her by the picture.

We are grateful to the people who cared for Bella after the accident. We are also very sad, and will really miss our first kitty.

I am sorry to hear about your loss. Allow yourself to grieve and miss your special baby. If that happened to my kitties, I would be very sad, too. You have every right to feel sadness. Our pets are family members, too. Again, I am so sorry to hear about Bella.

I'm so sorry to hear about this. I have four kitties that are also my family. At least you can take comfort in the fact that she didn't suffer, and that there were some thoughtful people who took care of her.

This is one reason why I believe all cats should be indoor-only cats unless supervised on a leash.

I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. But on the brighter side, what thoughtful neighbors you have. Years ago one of our dogs got out and was hit by a hit and run driver. Obviously saw they hit the dog and kept on going. Thankfully it was a minor type of accident and broke a few bones is "all".

I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. One of my dogs was killed by a hit and run driver this past New Year's Eve. There is no way the person could not know they hit a dog, because she was kind of big. My teenage son was home alone when it happened. His best friend saw her on the road and told my son who went to get her. I never got to see her because my son wrapped her up in a towel, put her in a pillowcase, and stapled the end shut. He said I didn't need to see her. I'm thankful his friends were with him.

Also, what a thoughtful act these people did. It is so refreshing knowing that there are people in this world today who did what they did.

My heart goes out to you and your family! Losing a family member is ALWAYS hard wether they have 2 legs or 4. I firmly believe in "what goes around..." so the person who hit and left your kitty WILL receive justice they deserve. If not now then later!
