Opinions on KickMax?

Like most others have posted, KM is a "meh" for me too, but I like the warm up and leg cond. drills. My favorite 30 min. kickbox mishmosh is the Kickmax warm up, then combos 1,2, & 3 of KPC. It comes in at 30-31 minutes w/o a cooldown so it's great for days when I'm short on time or don't feel like doing all of KPC.

I aspire to be able to lift my legs as high as Jai does during the drills, especially for the side leg work. She is incredibly strong and flexible!

I'm not a huge fan of Kickmax. I love the blast segment, but I thought the kicking and punching drills were too slow and didn't have enough intensity. I just did Kick, Punch, and Crunch this morning, and what a difference! I also didn't like the leg work at the end. The remind me of what I used to watch my grandma do with Jack Lalane - she was always holding onto a chair lifting her legs.

I'm hoping Cathe's next dvd is MMA style, and I hope it's back to high intensity.

I like this workout when separated in parts, but I never do it as a whole because it's too disjointed. I'll do the drills as an add-on, or when I want a quick calorie burn. They're also great when I want to do HIIT, as I'll pause the DVD between drills and walk around to lower my heart rate.

The leg conditioning drills really helped my kickboxing form and allowed me to work on my flexibility to kick higher. I'll do them if I've been away from kickboxing for awhile and need to condition myself.

I rarely do the main workout, as I prefer her other kickboxing stuff. I might try it with weighted gloves and see if it ups the intensity.

I have to agree with many others. I'm not a fan of KM. I think I did it once, possibly twice, a year or so ago. I was so looking forward to the leg conditioning drills as I always look for good leg work but this one didn't do it for me. I just didn't feel my legs got much of a workout. Perhaps I'll try it again at some point but it's not going to be at the top of my list.
