Online Trainer/Nutritionist

Does anyone know the name/website of a knowledgable trainer or really I'm looking more for a dietician? I've come to the realization that I cant do this on my own. I'm not sure how an online trainer would view "video fitness" though and I dont have access to a gym. I'm also looking for someone to map out an eating plan as that is what I have my biggest issue with. Maybe if Im actually paying for the advice and checkin I might be more inclined to stay motivated.

not sure if this is what your looking for, but fitorbit offers this. I tried them for a short time. I got lots of food menues etc.. but the workouts were so-so. I could never quite make my trainer understand my level of fitness. but then again, i only gave it two weeks. If you find one you like, please post here because I have been looking for one myself (that is affordable )

I worked with Cathy Savage and Jodi Jones for a year and I found them both invaluable. I never intended to compete but they taught me how to eat and I will always be grateful.

I was skeptical before I started because I wasn't sure they could actually help me "online" but they most definitely did!

I don't work out in a gym, and they knew that. They tailored my workouts to be done at home with the equipment I had.

I can't say enough GOOD things about these two women -- Jodi is the most awesome nutritionist I have ever had the pleasure of working with -- she asks a million questions and really thinks about YOU before she gives you a food plan. And she doesn't just give you a food plan, she explains the reasoning behind it so you LEARN how to apply the same theories when you are done with them. Awesome, awesome, awesome. I actually miss them :( it's been about 3 years since I used their servcies, but I have no reason to believe it's gone bad.

Here is a link to Jodi's site.

I love these women, almost as much as I love Cathe!

They, like Cathe, have changed my life forever.

Travis, thanks for the links! Do these two women work together or are they totally separate? Did you mention "Cathe"? Some trainers don't "get" the world of fitness videos!

When I did Cathy Savage's program they worked together, and I believe they still do. Cathy handles the training portion (although Jodi was a figure competitor herself and knows alot about that too) and Jodi handles the nutrition. They have more programs offered now than when I was a Savage girl --

I did something similar to what they are now calling the "Lifestyle" program.

Now that I've looked at the site I see they have a running program, I might have to check that out . . . . :)

Good luck!!

Stacy I just realized that I forgot to answer your other question.

I knew women who were doing the same program as I was doing with Cathy Savage that were not using the workouts -- the workouts were provided as part of the package but they only wanted the nutrition -- and Cathy and Jodi were willing to work with that.

I learned about Cathe while I was a part of the Savage team through another Savage girl who worked out at home. I told Cathy and Jodi when I first started about my workout dvds (which at the time were Tae Bo/Jillian Michaels) but I wasn't really doing any intense lifting. So I used the Savage lifting workouts they provided and then used my tapes for cardio.

I "met" Cathe about 4 months in but I continued to use the Savage lifting workouts until I ended my time with them and then I took what I learned from them and used Cathe to lift with.

The bottom line is that my experience with the Savage organization was that they were open to working with women (and men) however it would best meet the client's needs.

I don't think they have a "nutrition only" program but they wouldn't be offended if you didn't use their lifting workouts.

That's an awesome program! For the cost of a gym membership, you get it all! I like that they incorporate nutrition into your program. Mine could use a little tweaking, but I'm just not ready to give up all of my vices yet!

Good luck Stacy! If you decide to use them, let us know how your progress is going!
