I just had blood work done and expected my cholesterol to be HIGH becasue I have gained weight since I had it checked last (2000) plus I have the family history. Back then, my overall # was 220 but the HDL, LDL, and triglycerdies were good. Well, NOW my overall # is 130, HDL in the 90's, LDL in the 90's, and triglycerides in the 40's!!! The medical staff, which includes my mother-in-law, stood around in disgust and she told the dr about all my exercise and he said "she probably has a lot of muscle"....and I DO..THANKS TO YOU!!!!!!!!!

Happy Thanksgiving!!!!!!

Kim, your story reminds me of my experience this past October at my brother's wedding, seeing several family members who appear to be losing the obesity battle (and all of the horrific internal consequences attendant to that), that I recounted in my post "My Personal Debt of Gratitude to Cathe". Because of Cathe I truly believe that I will avoid that fate. Like the A.A. people say, "It works if ya work it."

Thanks again, Cathe, and thanks to you Kim for reminding us again why fitness is really so important. Keep up the good work, and keep letting us know how it works for you! We need this site to share our successes!

You're SO right. I never would've believed exercise could play such a role. I mean, I know it's a wonderfully healthy thing to do, but without a totally clean dietand some extra pounds, I thought for sure my numbers would be less than ideal. I will exercise with Cathe as long as I am able!!!!
