I just went shopping (my two vices in life: coffee and my credit card), and EVERYTHING was so sparkly and shiny, even the stuff on the "Career Wear" rack! Now, I like trends as much as the next gal, but I work in a stuffy, conservative office where we are not even allowed to go SLEEVELESS, never mind showing up looking like the disco ball is going to drop at any moment. I often wonder if anyone in a designer's studio has ever actually been IN a typical office! They need to come to my office, where summer "business casual" basically means men lose the tie and jacket and women lose the jacket and the pantyhose. Oh, and we can wear open-toed shoes, but they can't resemble anything that one might wear to the beach. Seriously, we get a long memo about what is and is not appropriate, and it includes things like "Lycra bike shorts" and "sports bras," which absolutely cracks me up. Do people show up to work like that, do you think??
Anyway, if you all get to wear sequined stuff to work, I am jealous! I ended up buying a couple of rather nice but boring cap-sleeved sweaters (I will tell my boss that TECHNICALLY there is a sleeve) and an awesome bag (I am the bag queen). However, the whole thing was rather disappointing...
ETA, I should have just bought more Cathe workouts.
