OK, I'm giving up

I've been trying to add to my home cardio collection & have tried a variety of instructors other than Cathe during the last month or so. Compared to Cathe, they are SO LAME! Their normal workouts aren't even as intense as Cathe's warmups.......I think Cathe has just spoiled me for other instructors.

So Christi Taylor & Janis Saffel are going in the garbage, unless anyone's interested in them (PM me if you are). I have a Seasun DVD I haven't tried yet, but I'm scared of it b/c I'm not good w/complex choreography & I hear she has some pretty fancy footwork.

The only stuff that's come close is the P90X, I'm keeping that but only for my light days.

<sigh> so frustrating. And soon the weather won't be good enough to run or jump rope in my backyard. Boy, I hope Cathe hurries up w/her new stuff!

Laura, I'm in the same boat. The only thing that compares is the Powerstrikes.

I'm tempted to try Jari Love and Seasun as well, but I'm afraid I'd just be wasting my money.

Have you considered the Cardio Coach workouts? Granted, it's all audio stuff that you do on a machine. I've been using them (vols 3-6) on an elliptical at the gym and getting a cardiovascular level of intensity that's on par with and sometimes above the Imax's.

I haven't done any of the Cardio Coaches but with my Elliptical I have done some iTrain workouts. www.itrain.com and I will say the iClimbs on my Elliptical are very intense and my HR gets about as high as when I run without the impact! I agree though, no one elses cardio can come close to Cathe...:)

Half.com is a good and easy way to sell your unwanted videos and DVD's. If they're in good condition they can fetch a halfway decent price, too.

I have to look into that Cardio Coach. Sounds interesting. Where do you get them? I take it they have a website?

Well I guess I'm gonna have to find these elusive Powerstrikes. I think there was a post on how to get them last week? I googled it & didn't come up w/anything, & there's only one for sale on ebay (#3, which I hear is the worst of the 3).

Does anyone have any suggestions?

If there are no takers, please don't just trash them. Donate them to your local library or to Goodwill.

Same here. I have recently acquired turbo jams and I am using them for warm ups before the Cathe's expecially the Fat blaster.

Beav: I am still a FIRMie too. I still love my firms.

However, I just discovered Cathe and you are right. Nobody comes close to her cardio workouts. I don't even want to try anyone else. Since I am new to Cathe, I still have alot of workouts to acquire and workout with. I just did Imax 3 for the first time yesterday and it kicked my booty big time.

OMG Laura thank god its not what I thought. When I read the subject "Ok I'm giving up" I thought you meant giving up on exercising with Cathe and stuff. Yea I'm THAT gullable:+

I just got Christi Taylor's Fanastic Four and out of the four workouts, two of them look like fun--the Hi-lo two. I don't think the intensity is any less than Cathe's though. That really just depends on how hard you work. I just think Cathe's personality, crew, and professional productions are hard to match. I am going to give the Christi's a try before selling them on ebay. I also have the Turbo Jam series which I am really trying to enjoy (but it's a struggle to make myself do them)--nothing compares to Cathe. Are there subliminal messages in her DVD's?:+

Beavs - Powerstrike Millenium 1 and 2 aren't available on DVD, only VHS. I believe 3 is available on DVD, but isn't as good as 1 and 2. And there are some new ones shipping in September, but I have no idea what those will be like.

Thanks Shelley! I'm surprised they aren't on DVD yet. Maybe I'll try #3....or wait until September.

Yeah that's the one I have--the Fantastic Four. I did the hi/lo this morning & not only did I not break a sweat, I think my heart rate actually dropped. :+ After 30 minutes I threw in MIC & did Cathe's hi/lo just so I wouldn't feel like I wasted a morning.

Well, I knew by the "Subject" and the author that she wasn't at all even considering ditching her workouts or Cathe, but that is because we all know how intense she it...and DEDICATED!

Laura, I thought you liked the Turbo Jams...am I wrong? Still, I am in the same situation. The closest I have come to liking another instructor is Mr. Yummypants, but he just stretches me out, no cardio!

LOL! Good lord, I can't imagine giving up fitness--WTH would I do with all that extra time? (a problem for those of us without children ya know ;-) )

Sarah, yes the TJ workouts I do like. Again, not even close to Cathe's intensity, but they are fun & easy to follow, plus I do actually feel like I'm getting a decent workout from them.

OK I am just dying to know--who is Mr. Yummypants?
