Next Friday night, I get to go to a PAUL MCCARTNEY concert! I'm so excited I can hardly stand it! I actually wished for tickets, and some good fairies made it come true.

Excuse me while I do a HAPPY dance!!!!!

Oh I had to reply.
That sounds Grand! Where is the concert (I know you live near Cleve, OH)

I'm a fan from WAAAYYY back.

I actually saw the Beatles perform at the Cleveland Public Auditorium on Tuesday September 15, 1964. I was a screaming 12-year old. I swear Paul sang "Things We Said Today" just for me! LOL!

Hi Honeybunch,

That is FANTASTIC !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am jealous. He is one hell of a guy ! My parents actually live in Liverpool, UK, and Liverpool City is a fantastic place to have a look around, there are lots of Beatles related things to see. I hope you have the best time ever, please tell us all about it once you have seen him.

Honeybunch, you lucky dog! I'm trying to win tickets for DH to see him in Atlantic City. I was just a little girl when the Beatles broke up & was only 16 when John was shot. I never had an appreciation for them until recently. So, it would be a thrill for me but DH would just kill! Ok, did I say he's 8 years older than me?

I think my dad was British in a past life, and I want to get him to go to England (and take me, of course). If we went, I MUST go to Liverpool.

I saw the Beatles on the Ed Sullivan show when it aired live....and Paul is 8 years older than me, also! He married a chick in her 30's, but we love him anyway.

I heard him, in an interview, say that he signs autographs because someone that he admired signed one for him when he was a kid. Maybe I'll get lucky! Something else to wish for!

Oh yes do go to Liverpool. My daughter and I went there in 1999. We had the BEST time. We took a "Magical Mystery Tour" and saw the sites - Strawberry Field, Penny Lane, George's childhood home, John's Auntie Mimi's house. We walked around Liverpool City (they also have a wonderful Cathedral there and a University)

When Paul recently married my daughter said, "Darn, I missed him again." (she took the words right out of my mouth!)

Have a GREAT concert HB.

And do tell afterward

You're so lucky! Have you seen his book of poetry? I heard him reading it on GMA and it was some powerful stuff. Also, his paintings are absolutely awesome. How can one person have so much talent??!!?? Have fun at the show and PLEASE post with all the details!

Honeybunch, you would LOVE Liverpool, it is such a fantastic place, lots of Irish pubs and a very famous street called Matthew Street, which is where the original Cavern was. The old cavern was pulled down and turned into a carpark (surprise, surprise), but they re-built the Cavern next to the original spot. There is a brilliant Irish pub on the same street called Flannagan's Apple - a three storey pub incorporating a music haunt for local bands, a traditional Irish bar and restaurant ! Fantastic ! You can take a Ferry'Cross the Mersey, and visit a suburb of liverpool, called Bootle, most of Bootle was destroyed by the German bombers in the Second World War.
If you want to read more on the history of Liverpool, then please read books by Helen Forrester, her novels and socio-autobiographies are brilliant !

PS: When I visited New York in July, my DH and I visited John Lennon's Strawberry Fields garden in Central Park, it was one of my New York highlights, such a peaceful place :)

I did not even know he was in Atlantic City until I saw a notice a few days ago. A friend of mine is going--so jealous.
We saw him in 1990 in Phila. Seems like yesterday (no pun intended). Had a friend who worked in seciurity and had seats practically on the field.
wouldn't have mattered--was the BEST show I have ever seen!!

That is TOO COOL! My dh and I will be going in October, and are majorly psyched. Paul is dh's idol and I think he just may faint when Paul comes on stage. I can see having to revive him with cold water throughout the show. ;)

I don't know that I'll faint, but I may start to blubber. I know decided that I MUST get his autograph somehow. I wished for tickets, and THAT seemed impossible, so now I'm wishing to get backstage and get his autograph.

Any ideas out there on how to make it happen? I e-mailed a couple of radio people in the area for help, so we'll see if that pans out. You never know until you ask, right?
