October spooky fat loss

Hi ladies! I measured myself this morning, I am up in every area, but extra up on my waistline. I'm remarkably calm about it, must not be PMSing. I'm ready to get back to better habits.

I should have done legs yesterday but my legs were still a little wonky so I'll do that today. I think I'll do either lean legs & abs or great glutes instead of plyo legs. I'm downloading now, it's taking forever!!!

How are you ladies doing? Got your new stuff yet? Do you download? It's usually a better experience that I'm having this time.

Chat at you later :)

Thanks for starting a new thread! : ) Yesterday was our anniversary ride to Maine. It was a perfect day, and arrived home to the new workouts on the door step!

Today I tried Flextrain, but had to stop half way through. I'm about to go back and try it again. So far, it's a really fun workout.

Sue, I've never tried to download, I'm not sure I could figure out how to transfer it after. How do you get it on to your TV from the downloads? I've offically run out of space on my DVD shelf. I need a bigger Cathe shrine. : )

I've been baking like crazy. Next on my agenda to try this week is homemade Poptarts. :p

Happy anniversary Tina!!! How great that the new workouts were waiting for you :). Did you get back to flex train? How did you like it? I did leaner legs & abs - loved it!!! I didn't think I would as xtrain legs was not a favorite and I thought it would be similar to that. But this one keeps you moving from one exercise to the next, never dwelling too long on any one thing. I really felt all the angles that were being worked.

I finally broke down a couple of months ago and bought an Apple TV, you leave iTunes running on your computer & you can play any of your movies or music on your tv over wifi. It's so much better than my old way which was loading videos to my phone & connecting my phone to the tv via a cable that always wanted to come loose and break the connection.

You'll have to tell me how the home made pop tarts come out. I bet getting that dough just right is challenging.

Hi Diana! Have you tried the new workouts yet?

Sue, I forgot to mention how much I love this new thread title! : ) I went back and did Flextrain from start to finish. I really enjoyed it. I tacked on X10 Fat Burn Circuit, which was also fun. I can see where X10 will be nice additions to a weight day. Today was PRS#1 and I LOVED it!! I can't wait to try PRS#2.

Sue, I'm happy to hear LL&A is different to XT Legs. I'm not sure when I can fit that one in. We are about to dump cable and go with some other on line tv, we just need to get the right players first. Maybe I can download after we're up and running. I haven't attempted the poptarts yet, maybe tomorrow. : )

Hi Diana, hope you're doing well. : )

Hi ladies! Today was D18, back/bis. I previewed x10 and all the segments look intense! Not sure what's in store for tomorrow but these old bones might need some stretch/yoga soon! I can feel the left side of my neck getting tight.

Diana I think Wednesday is your weigh-in day, are you still rocking the weight loss?

Tina glad you're liking all the new stuff so far. I might go for PRS2 one of these days but the choreography stuff will gather digital dust. I've been thinking about dumping cable too, I would save quite a bit.

I can't believe this week is half over already! have a great thursday girls :)

Hi Ladies,

My discs were waiting for me last night when I got home! I ran 5 miles yesterday and Fridays are weight days for me. I did Flex Train this morning and liked it. I also previewed a few sections of X10. I would like to do that later today or tomorrow. My knee has really been hurting so I've been icing and foam. There's just really nothing I can do about until after this HM. Once I stop running and focus on PT it heals right up.

Sue-sorry about the measurements. I really should take my measurements. No weightloss this week, stayed the same. Still at 15#'s down and 15 more to go. My clothes are getting loose and people are starting to notice. :D I got the discs and the downloads! I use the spinning ones on my ipod at the rec ctr. The other downloads I don't use too much. Sometimes I put them on my tablet or laptop so they are mobile. Prior to that, I did the same as you...download to my phone and plug my phone into the TV which worked fine. I'll probably pull my downloads sometime this weekend. I'm not in any hurry since I have all the discs.

Tina-Happy Belated Anniversary! I would love to get rid of our huge cable bill, but I live with 4 men who watch every sport imaginable. For me, I could probably get away with a roku and things like hulu and netflix.

Good morning, I hope you're both doing well. I am loving these new workouts! I did GG yesterday and RK on Wednesday. I tacked on the barre section from LL&A as well. We went for a night ride on Thursday night and my front light died, it was a heart pounding last couple of miles. I think my bike is cursed.

We're off for a long bike ride this morning, it looks like rain for the next four days. : / I'm feeling the need for some heavy upper body, so I'll fit that in tomorrow sometime.

Diana, great job on losing 15#, that's fantastic! Your HM must be right around the corner.

Have a great weekend! : )

Hello, Newbie here

Hi Everyone, Loved the post name so I had to join. Still waiting on the new DVD, hope the come soon. I only ordered 2 of them. I have over 200 WO dvd and still 30lbs overweight. Ben sitting on the couch ALOT. Trying to start over..(AGAIN).

Good for you Diane....I did a HM about 5 yrs ago....I should sing up for another next year. I just dread all the training.

......so many dvd and which one to put in my Dvd player. I do like that idea of downloading and WiFi....Will have to check into that.

:D

Hi ladies! It's been a few days so here's what I've been doing: Thursday yoga relax (really needed it), Friday D19 chest shoulders triceps, took a 3 mile walk yesterday and did great glutes today (everything but bonus). Not a fan of this one, it's a lot like xtrain legs (endless reps). I did prefer the thigh squeezes in this one though - much more comfortable. Throwing the ball in the air was fun but I don't think I was concentrating enough on getting a good squeeze in when catching. The standing portion really amped my heart rate, maybe as my cardio endurance increases I might like this one better.

I'm thinking about purchasing lastics - do any of you have it? I'm also thinking for our upcoming round of STS I should get a squat rack for meso 3. Have you guys done the squat rack workouts?

Diana - congrats on maintaining your weight loss - that's a big part of the solution :) Is your HM this month?

Tina sorry to hear about your bike - I think you're right about it being cursed! Were you rained out this weekend?

Welcome Krista!!!! Tell us more about yourself. I see a baby in your avatar, do you have a little one to run around after? Is doing a HM worth the training dread? What does your diet look like? If you find yourself in front of the TV a lot you might try bringing your step to the couch & stepping up and down while watching. It'll get you moving a little more & you can still enjoy your shows. I am 44yo, would like to lose 10-20 pounds, not in any hurry. My problem area is my belly. I prefer weights to cardio.

Depending on my work day tomorrow I may take a walk or a rest day. Have a great week ladies :)

Good morning, hope you're all doing well. Welcome Krista! :)

We managed a long bike ride on Saturday and were rained out on Sunday. DH and I did MM together instead. He's so much fun to workout with. He's thinking of trying so of the upcoming STS together. This morning I'm going to try PR#2. : )

Sue, we have YR planned for tonight, due to our walk being rained out. I just checked out Lastics and it looks like something I would love. If you get it, I'd love to hear a review. Those inner thigh ball tosses in GG nearly send my legs into a charlie horse. I always get inner thigh doms after them. Do you own the squat rack portion of STS? In the future, I'd love to buy a squat rack and the DVD's. It would make STS seem new again. : )

Off to try PR#2. Have a great day! : )

Hi Ladies,

I was expecting to be sore from Flex Train on Friday, but it never happened. Saturday I did all of X10, whew what a good w/o. With the w/u and c/d each segment would be about 25 minutes.

Yesterday was a 9 mile run! I was pretty nervous since I haven't ran that distance since my last HM years ago. I ran the whole 9 miles in hour and 35 minutes and am happy with that. Then I did GS Back, Chest & Triceps. This morning I'm hitting GS Shoulders & Biceps, X10 segment and abs.

Seriously, my weight is up a tad this morning...really...after running 9 miles. It's not terrible, but disappointing/frustrating.

Krista-welcome!! Tell us more about yourself. I've struggled with my weight most of my adult life. In my late 30's I found weight watchers and have had success when I follow that program. I reached my goal weight and made lifetime. Unfortunately, I cannot seem to keep the weight off on my own. I've done WW off and on, right now I'm on because I'm very motivated to get this weight off. I'm down 15lbs and have another 15lbs to go. I honestly believe you have to be in the right mindset for the weight to come off.

Tina-wow, I think your bike is cursed too. You seem to take everything in stride though. Does your DH like your Cathe workouts? I've done the Squat Rack legs discs of STS. I don't have a Squat Rack, but I use a weighted vest and that seems to work fine for me.

Sue-So you don't think GG is for you? I haven't previewed or done that w/o yet. My legs are so sore from HM training that I've decided to just stick to UB weights until after the race. The race is in 2 weeks, on the 20th! I just previewed Lastics and it looks really good to me. I thought it would yoga which I've just never gotten into...it really is stretching which we could all use more of.:)

Happy Monday Ladies!!

Today was XT CBS + X10 Step. Whoa, I'm loving X10 so far. Funny, because I didn't feel this way about Tabatacise, so I wasn't expecting to enjoy this one so much. It was a great closer to the weight work, I was pretty sweaty when it was over. The warm up and the music are fantastic! It's like Cathe reached into my brain and made this grouping of workouts to my specific liking. : )

Diana, you are like a warrior on those workouts. 9 miles and weight work? Fantastic! My goal is to work up to doing the whole x10 workout at once. Your race is coming up quick!

Tomorrow I have LL&A + X10 HiLo planned. The only workout left to open is the Greatest Hits workout.

Sue, did you order Lastics yet?

Hi Ladies,

Yesterday was a 5 mile run and I found myself limping towards the end due to the pain in my left leg/knee. I have a brace but find it seems to make the limping worse but the knee feel better. What's a girl to do.

Today calls for a 3 mile run, but I'm doing Rockout/Knockout instead and giving my knee a break from running. I previewed the video clip last night and it looks like a goodie and fun too!

Tina-It's hard having new w/o's and not being able to use them. On the weekends is when I have more time and actually enjoy doing both cardio & weights. It seemed like each x10 segment had squat/OH press in it and my shoulders were getting tired by the end. If I recall, it wasn't a great calorie burner for me which was quite surprising.

Hi Sue and Krista! What are you ladies up to?

Today was LLA, X10 LI & Hi/Lo and the bonus chair section from GG. I have some great DOMS starting already! On another thread, someone mentioned pairing LLA w/ LIS LB Trisets. I think I might try that next time.

Diana, how did you like RK? I have that one scheduled for tomorrow. I hope your knee is feeling better, that's a bummer!

Hi Sue and Krista, hope you're both doing well.

: )

Hi ladies! Today was D21, back/bis, after taking wo days off. Monday was sort of planned because I knew I had a long workday and would be wiped out when it was time to workout. Yesterday I was just lazy, could not motivate. Three more meso 2 workouts then I'll be hitting the new ones until we start STS again next month.

I realized after my last post I was a little hasty in not enjoying great glutes. the part I really didn't like was the floor work so I'll try a mix without that next time and see if I have a better experience. Weird thing is I can do endless leg lifts standing in turbo barre but get me on my knees doing similar moves and it's agony.

Tina I haven't ordered lastics. it's on my reward list and I haven't earned it yet. You're tearing up the new stuff! do you have a favorite already? I do have the squat rack videos, unused so far.

Diana you're getting so close to your hm! your legs are going to be so happy when that's behind you :). Tina's right, warrior woman - all of x10? im-freaking-pressive!!!! Do you think you'll continue using the WW points system after you reach your goal weight? it seems the end of a diet is a lot of people's downfall.

Hi Krista! we'd love to hear more from you :)

Hi Ladies,

My knee is still bothering me a lot. Not sure what to do about my 5 mile run scheduled for this morning. I already skipped the shorter 3 mile run yesterday. On the upside, my total weight loss so far on the WW scale is 15.8 lbs.

All of x10 isn't that bad. It was 77 minutes and I had the time. Every 10 minutes or so the focus changed from step, hi/lo etc so it just moved right along.

Sue-I'm looking forward to some good ole' leg weight training when this race is over. I love lifting heavy for legs at the rec and really miss it. Floor work is very hard for me too. I can lift a lot of weight, but leg lifts are killer for me. It's probably a good idea for me to stay on the WW program once I reach my goal.

Tina-RK was fun...not super tough...and not a very high calorie burner for me. I was hoping the combos at the end would be more like KPC. Have you tried all the new w/o's already? After the race I plan on throwing in the step w/o's on the cardio days of the STS rotation.

off to see if I can do a 5 mile run. If the knee is too painful then I'll cut it short.

Yesterday was RK with the bonus. I don't have a heavy bag, but it's still a good workout without one. The first combo reminded me of the first combo in KPC. DH and I did another night ride and this time my front headlight didn't fail me. Today I have XT B&T planned. If I have time, I'm going to try X10CB, the last one to try on that disc.

Diana, sorry to hear your knee is still bothering you. I hope it straightens out before your race! Your weight loss is impressive, I wish I could get motivated like you. The only two new workouts I haven't opened yet are GH and PP. I just can't bring myself to set up the trainer to spin yet.

Sue, I haven't decided on a favorite disc yet. I'm loving the cardios! PR 1&2 are fantastic, I can't wait to try a combo premix next week. X10 will be a great combo with our STS round. I'm getting excited to do another round soon. : )

Have a great weekend! : )

Hi Ladies,

I ended up cutting my 5 mile run short. Ended up with 3.3 miles. Tomorrow calls for a 10 mile run, not sure my knee can take that. I honestly wish the HM was tomorrow. Thinking I only have one long run in before I need to stop running for a bit. We'll see.

Yesterday I did Xtrain BS Bi's & Tri's, and HIIT DWP. Today will be BS CSB and tabatacise. Stepping really hurts my knee so the Step blasts will either be done just on the floor or using just a step (no risers).

Have you seen the October rotation? It looks good to me and I may do a week or so of it after my race, and before STS. :D

Tina-I ordered the downloads and use the bike w/o's at the rec ctr on the spin bikes. I'll probably sell PP, haven't even opened it. Thanks regarding the weight loss! I'm motivated, just tired of carrying around the extra weight. My weight issues are food related and being an over-eater. A quote I've heard is that "you can't exercise away a bad diet". Trying to gain control over food is really hard for me and it is definitely work. Hopefully someday it will just come naturally to me.

Sue-what are you up to this weekend?

bbl

Happy weekend! I had a looooong workweek and am enjoying myself now. I only did one workout this week because I just didn't feel up to,working out after 12 hour days. so this morning I turned over a new leaf and got it out of the way first thing, D22 chest, shoulders & tris. I'd been thinking I should increase weights lately but this one was just challenging enough. I'm going to keep doing workouts in the morning and hopefully it'll become habitual.

Diana I'm so sorry your knee is giving you trouble & this close to the end of your training that's got to be super stressful & disappointing for you. After I get through 2 more STS disks I'll start doing the new workouts, but Cathe's October rotation is too ambitious for me :).

Tina I'm glad your bike cooperated for your ride, you've got to get in as much riding as possible before the weather turns. How did you like x10 cardio blast?

Keep having a great weekend ladies :)

Hi Ladies,

I got in my 10 mile run yesterday and feel very accomplished. It not as difficult as I was anticipating. :D Next Sunday is the race and then I can give my knee a well deserved break!

Last night I downloaded all the new workouts. It took less than hour for all of them. From the sounds of things, it makes me glad I waited.

Sue-12 hour days, that's awful. Sorry, I can't remember what you do. Are you a nurse? Do you have weighted gloves? I use those a lot when doing STS. I have a 1# pair and a 2# pair. I exercise in the morning too. It's the only time I can get it done. The classes at the rec ctr are at night, which reminds that our Holiday Meltdown class is starting soon.

Tina-How was your weekend?

Off to find some kind of workout to do this morning. bbl
