Obsidian Slide Board?

Does anyone have the Obsidian Sliding Board or another type of slide board? If so, I'd love to hear your opinions. I'm interested in buying Cathe's discs that use the gliding discs and also using Horizontal Conditioning, but I work out on rubber mats and can't find anything that slides on them. I'd appreciate any advice or opinions. Thanks!

Years ago I got a sliding board. It was the kind you roll up and was NOT cheap. It was novel for awhile and then it was just plain boring.

Sliding is fun and all with the slide and glide disks and I am glad I have them, but they are really not necessary. I find I can do most of the sliding exercises just as well without using them and modifying. In fact, sometimes I don't want to use them and so I don't, but still do the workouts.

What about just a piece of carpet you can put over the rubber mats to use the sliding discs? You could get a remnant at a carpet store for pretty cheap...

I bought a indoor/outdoor rug on sale to put over my rubber mats when using the disc. Needs to be at least a 5 x 7. I also like the furniture movers better than the disc.

Definitely 5x7; I picked up a piece from Big Logs and pull it over my mats when I want to use the disks.

The reason it needs to be wider and longer than the Slide Board is because of the directional changes - to side a leg forward, back, and to the side while keeping the other leg planted.

I never thought to use furniture movers but I sprayed mine with Pledge and they side nicely.

I love Slide and Glide - you use stabilizing muscles like there's no tomorrow. And using them during Mountain Climbers really works the hips, glutes, and thighs:D

The Obsidian Board is a Great Value

I just saw this thread and wanted to throw in my two cents. :p

I got an Obsidian Slide Board after seeing it at my favorite gym in Utah. They are lightweight & portable but don't move around on the floor. They provide booties & mitts that help you slide extremely easily and are very durable. Hope that helps :)
