Now if only I could've persuaded her to live in the attic

While I exercise I open the outside door otherwise I get too hot. In the middle of the yoga dvd I was following I needed to use the bathroom - when I came back I noticed the tail end of a snake slithering around and against the chair....not the chair closest to the door, but the chair closest to the hallway and the rest of the house!

I told the snake she couldn't live with us, and believe it or not, she turned right around and slipped out of the house! Such a good listener....hence 'she' - plus she had a sweet face.

Anyone else have creatures visit them in the midst of their exercise?

Janis

(p.s. there is some minor evidence of mouse activity in the attic.;))

Uh. . . I have never had a "visitor" during a workout. I have to say you are one brave woman. I am so deathly afraid of snakes I would have screamed and cried like a baby and locked myself in a secure room, like the bathroom, until DH came home. I know it sounds like I am joking. . . sadly, I am not.

OOoo really? Its rattlesnake season here! Havent found any yet, but last year we had so many, it's pure luck we didn't get bit. It's getting out of hand!

My mom lives in the country and she says that when it gets hot, snakes want to get to cooler areas. That's why they have had a couple of snakes go in their back door (one actually went into my mom and dad's bathroom which is right by the back door!) Apparently (according to my mom), snakes want cooler areas so when a door is open, they may wander in for the cooler air! Just something my mom has experienced!

Ah - well - see - I am the youngest of six children, three of which are boys, plus we lived in the desert outside of Tucson. (many icky possibilities.) AND now I am the mother of three boys. (something weirdly karmic about that.)

BUT if "she" hadn't listened and slither out - my next plan of action was the broom, failing that - engage the cats. :D

And you're right jthorton, it was a hot day and I think she was attracted to the cool concrete floors.

NOW - rattlesnakes - well that's a whole different plan of action. A shovel comes to mind.

This bears a striking resemblance to what my reaction would be, only I would never stop SCREAMING -- LOL!!!

In all seriousness, if this had happened to me I may well have had a heart attack!

Just looking at pictures of snakes causes my blood pressure to rise.

Thankfully there are zero snakes where I live.

I should have know when my cat was staring keenly at the light up tree we have stored it the basement. The garter snake was slithering down the tree. I immediately bolted upstairs so fast to get the man of the house that I never missed a beat of the DM drill premix ;)

You've got a strong heart! I've only had spiders--thank goodness. I was in wheel pose once, watching one crawl towards my head.

Oh my word Janis!! That would be SCREAM MAX!!!! Now I'm going to have nightmares.....
I also open the front door occassionaly when I get to hot but we have in enclosed front porch so I'm safe from critters!
Hate Hate Hate snakes!
Glad she was polite anyway ;)

My 16 year old DS came home the other night to a rattlesnake on our front porch. He came within inches of stepping on it  He was calm when he walked in the house telling me we have a visitor at the door. I really hate this time of year. It's just the first of many snakes we'll see this summer I'm sure.
