Novice runners NEW CHECKIN!!!! (sorry for yelling.)

Hi Sharon! Welcome to the group! I'm glad you saw my post about the podcasts, they really do make the run more fun! I've had a few attempts at the C25K run too. I started a few months ago with a 12 week C25K program (not the original). I went through a few weeks of it and then found the podcasts for the original program on-line, so I decided I wanted to follow that one instead (the 9 week program). I'm currently on Week 3 and I love it!

I do other workouts during the week. I do my runs M/W/F. Today I did cardio from Turbo Jam. I was doing the Slim Series 5x per week, along with my runs but I just purchased CLX and will be started that next week. So I will be doing the weight workouts from CLX on the days I run, and the CLX cardio on Tues & Thurs.

Depending on your goals or how much cardio you personally like to do, I think you can add whatever you want on the days you're not running. Just listen to your body!

Hope this helps and good luck! :)

lame workout

I am embarrassed to say I pooped out after 6 intervals of Imax 2. My head just wasn't in it. Dumb reason, but still 400 calories burned so no real loss I guess. Still, I prefer to get more than just 25 minutes in my THR on my non-run days. poop. I'm going to a meditation class tonight, maybe that will help.

Collins Mom- have you heard the Two Gomers Run a half marathon podcast? Its hilarious! especially when they do dumb stuff that no one would normally think of, like for a tempo run just running as hard as they can and forgetting to stop

Morningstar: Yikes, you is in seriously good shape, you did it 2x???

Marcia- I do a lot of yoga rapid breath of fire exercises (which is where I got my handle) so I do 4 steps to one breath and I do breathe in through my nose and out through my mouth to avoid side stitches from air being too cold.

Christine- I agree completely, it really is just listening to your body.

And good morning to everybody!!!!
