Not Our Daughter's Jeans - Eeeech!

While we may not need them, I am glad they exist for those women who don't feel comfortable in skinny low rises from gap or whatever. The truth is, many women's waist lines after childbirth are not at all what they used to be before kids, and it is good that some manufacturers may finally be catering to this biological truth so that mothers who need them won't feel like ten-ton-tessies when they can't squeeze themselves into the jeans of a twenty year old.

Don't forget, we catheites are in the minority. Most women our age are way bigger all round. Choice can only be a good thing, no?

How do the Seven's compare to Lucky's size-wise? And which style do you wear in each?

most of those designer jeans COH, 7, etc are made for younger [skinnier]wommen with no quad muscles. I am not fat through the thigh, but have nice muscle. So hard to fit it into jeans. Anyone else with this problem? Which brands run fuller through the thigh?

Nancy - what style of Sevens do you like? Is it low rise or mid rise? Do they run close to Lucky in sizes? TIA

Hate to not go along with everybody, but I love those jeans. They are like wearing nothing at all. They are comfortable as workout clothing to me.

I own about 6 pair and I love them! And I don't think I look like a Dancing Granny -- if you wear them with the right accessories, they look fine.

I love skinny jeans too -- just got a pair of size 4 mid rise and I love them.

I am 5'1" and I love the Not our daughters jeans -- it's all about how you wear things.

I've seen women and girls in low rise that look like Frump City! Especially when they combine capri jeans with those God Awful Water Clogs!

Whoever came up with water clogs should be lashed with 20 wet noodles!

Hi Fach,

I found that certain styles of Lucky have a little more room in this area. This is my issue too (which is why I can't wear skinny jeans--not that I want to LOL), since I have very muscular legs. I found that Sweet Dream (by Lucky) fit me perfectly!

I'm 5'0 too and can't stand high waisted jeans. Not only do they look stupid on me but they drive me nuts! Gloria Vanderbilt is notorious for those jeans. It's pretty sad when you sit down and the waistband of the jeans is right underneath your boobs, lol

I like low rise, strait leg jeans, which I think?? is the best style for petites?? But oftentimes, it seems, you can't get the perfect fit. Either you try jeans on and they are too high waist.....and uncomfortable...or they are low rise but too low!! Where is the in- between???!! Plus, my waist is getting too fat for my legs. I try to go up in waist size, but then the legs get longer and the butt gets big (not my problems, lol).

I live in capris too because I can't stand the feeling of the "muffing top" when you sit down. I focus on it and keep feeling my "roll" like some obsessive OCD'er. Can't get it out of my head.

Went shopping for exercise clothes yesterday. Tried on a million. Felt like nothing looked good or fit right. Everything felt pretty uncomfortable. I guess this is what happens when your body confidence and self esteem goes out the window? You get to a point where you can't even buy clothes, because you think NOTHING fits right! Arrrrggghh!

Those jeans though...accckkk...what are those models....9ft fall and 100 #'s LOL

;)

The image this produced in my head cracked me up. Thanks for the laugh!!

I've never liked high-waist jeans, girdle or no, though I agree with MM that it's nice for some women to have that option. Personally I've never had trouble finding jeans. I hit vintage and second hand shops. They tend to have 100s of jeans in sorts of styles.

I will never go back to skinny jeans. Low-rise, boot flare forever!!

I used to like high-waist jeans when they were in style. I can't stand them now. I'm also only 5 feet tall, and I absolutely love Cruel Girl jeans. They are made a little wider through the hips/legs and fit great. Most sit just below my belly button, but I have a couple of pairs that are a little lower. I'm almost 44, next month, but I'm definitely not ready to dress like my mother yet. I buy jeans from this website a lot. http://www.rods.com/dg/760,699_Cruel-Girl-Jeans.html I especially like the Kelsey, Madison, and Georgia styles. They fit great and they make the butt look good. I tried on a pair of Lucky jeans for the first on Friday. I loved them until I looked at my butt. For some reason, my butt looked terrible. But they were incrediably comfortable.
