Not new to Cathe but out of shape...

I'm 5'4, 45 yrs. old and around 5 years ago I was topping around 160 lbs. Then I started working out at the gym with weight training etc. Got down to 125-130 by working out 5x/week and eating clean. I was really focused on my training. I have Cathe's S&H and Ab Hits too.

Well, I moved to Florida two years ago, got married and am very content (except for not fitting in my hot jeans I bought when I was fit) I'm at 150. Now I can't seem to get motivated. I thought I would try Jari Love but then I was thinking of Cathe...I'm not much for coordinated step moves but realize that I may have to try the CTX according to the threads? I do like weight training but should I lose weight first before taking the weight training direction. I also end up with sore knees with lunges...squats are ok though. Go figure?

Any thoughts or suggestions with Cathe's DVD's? Thanks for any advice in advance...

Hi Chrissy,

I'm not coordinated either and have hard time with step moves (but I'm getting better). I would suggest doing both cardio and weight training but I would put more into cardio if you want to lose the weight. I love Cathe's circuit workouts like HSC, HSTA and Boot Camp. I also do Kick, Punch and Crunch as well. I have also found that interval training will really rev up your system. One of my favorites is by Mindy Myrlea called Extreme Intervals. It uses a step but the moves are more simply and less dancy.

I'm 45 as well and I live in Georgia but work in Tallahassee, FL. Where do you live in Florida?

Hi Chrissy!
I personally can attest to Cathe Circuits to help drop those extra pounds while adding the so very important muscle we need to burn fat all day long! I too am in my 40's and started struggling w/ very stubborn 15 pounds for two years... I got into Cathe earlier this year and do 3 circuits a week (which all have interval as part of them) 1 interval a week and 1 lower and 1 Upper a week.
I am now at my lowest weight in 3 years and still working towards the last 8 pounds to goal. I am very pleased w/ Cathe results and YES I did struggle with all the step in the beginning!
Some of Cathe's Circuits:
Circuit Max
CTX
BootCamp
Cardio & Weights
The Terminator (3 workouts)
High Step training
High Step Training Advanced
High Step Challenge
High Step Circuit
Kick Punch Crunch has great circuit premixes on DVD so really a great one
Step Jump Pump with great premixes
The Timesaver Series (set up much like CTX)

For me I just cant go wrong with Cathes stuff but especially circuits!

Hi Becky,

Wow! It's great to find someone nearby that loves Cathe. Are you originally from Tallahassee?

Still not sure what series to go for...Might check out the Timesaver one? But thanks for the responses. Or Total Body Sculpt for starters. Looks like I'll be still doing some research...

I live in Fort Walton Beach which is lovely. I used to live pretty close to where Cathe's gym is located. In fact my personal trainer at my old gym in Vineland help her on the S&H dvd set. His name was Frank Forcinito and he was very instrumental with my prior success. I miss him alot here in Florida. But I'm hoping I can get back on with Cathe...

Thanks again for your responses!;-)
