Hi my name is Jennie, and I'm new to the site. I have been working out with The Firm and would like to incorporate some workouts from Cathe. I have watched her on Fit T.V. and have really enjoyed her.

I enjoy doing cardio and sculpting. I would say I am advanced in my workouts. I would also like to know what are some good workouts from Cathe the work the lower body, especially this hips? Any suggestions would be appreciated. :)

Hello Jennie,

I just wanted to welcome you to the cathe addicts. There are alot of ladies here who can steer you in the right direction for awesome cathe workouts. Once you start doing her workouts you will be hooked.

If you are looking for some of her leg workouts, she has Legs and glutes that is really awesome. She works the legs standing and floor exercises. She also has a leg workout that is older, but it is called leaner legs. And the has been said to be the toughest.

Well I know there are others that will recommend other videos. so you will get great information.

Welcome Jennie!! Kim is right Legs & Glutes is good and yes Leaner Legs is also a killer. I also like Gym Style Legs (the latest) and Pure Strength Legs. Lowmax is a low impact cardio that focuses on the legs. It is alot more fun than the Firm I think. (yes a former Firmie myself)....:)...Carole

Hey I started out with the firm work outs also and got hooked on Cathe's advanced routines. I like Kick Punch and Crunch b/c it is easy to follow and your legs will quickly slim down. I also like Lo max its a great cardio and leg burner. Kick max great kick boxing cardio and has a great standing leg routine.

Thanks everyone for your input. I'll give those workouts a try. I previewed Kick Punch and Crunch and it looked really fun to me. I think I might give that one a try.

Legs & Glutes is the toughest workout I've ever done for my legs and somehow, Cathe manages to make me love the torture.

Welcome. You will be addicted to Cathe. Her workouts are beyond compare.

If you get KPC on DVD, you'll get Legs & Glutes as well. It is wonderful for the whole lower body, and the exercises are more varied than what you have had with the Firm, so you should see some nice results. You can also use your "Fanny Lifter" with it.

Welcome! I was a Firmie too, there are a lot of us here now.:)

ETA: You might also like High Step Training Advanced......

Let's not forget Pyramid Lower Body. This along with Leaner Legs, GymStyle Legs and Slow and Heavy Legs are great lower body workouts. I agree with what was said about LowMax too.A super cardio workout that fries the legs...gotta love that!

Gee.........I was just reading the thread and I think we threw everything at her that Cathe makes. I guess you can tell we really like Cathe. Once you start doing Cathe, you just NEED all of her DVDs.

Let us know what you decide on. I think you'll be happy with any of the above suggestions.

Does anyone know if I can get Cathe DVD's in the store? I really don't want to use my charge card for anything. I'm trying to get it paid off.

Again thanks for the advice on the videos and for the welcome.

Hi Jennie,
I'm not sure about being able to purchase them in the store. I haven't seen them, but then again, I really haven't been looking for them, so they may be there. I know Cathe does offer a mail-in option, if you don't want to charge your card. I think she accepts checks. To be sure go to the ordering part and I there is an option to pay with check. HTH.

Hi Jennie! Welcome to the forums!

My favorite Cathe lower body workouts are PLB (Pyramid: Lower Body) and GSL (Gym Style Legs from the new Hardcore series).

I'm not quite sure what you mean by a lower body workout for the hips. Weight workouts will tone and firm the musles of the quads, glutes and hamstrings. Hips are the gluteus medius and minimus and some other smaller muscles (worked with squats and lunges, and some floor work), but also a place where we women can store fat easily. I'm assuming this excess fat is what you're referring to. To get rid of it, you need cardio (kickboxing is great because it also tones the lower body), a good eating plan, a balance between your eating plan and activity (so that you burn more calories than you take it), and a weight training program to up your metabolism and build some muscle.

The KPC (Kick, Punch and Crunch) and L&G (Legs and Glutes) would be a good addition to a lower body blasting routine! You not only have the intense kickboxing with KPC, and the lower body resistance work withh L&G, but several premixes (pre-programmed workouts that mix elements from one or both of the workouts) that combine parts of KPC and L&G for a double whammy!

Thanks for all your input you guys. I'll check out the mail-in option to see if they except checks. I really don't need to be spending any more on my charge card. That bill is high enough as it is. It sounds like you guys really love Cathe workouts. I watch her every day from 11 a.m. to noon. I get to work from home so that's how I catch her all the time. Thanks again for the warm welcome.

Welcome Jennie! I also started with The Firm and still do Firms sometimes. I'm really happy that I've discovered Cathe. She has taken my cardio endurance to a whole new level. All I can say is get your charge card ready! You can't go wrong with any of Cathe's workouts!

:)

Former Firmie here too Jennie. I still like the Firm, just hadn't pulled them out in a while; I am so enjoying Cathe's w/o's so much and they have taken my strength and cardio endurance past what I'll ever thought. I haven't seen Cathe out in the retail stores either. Only on the Cathe site and eBay.

I have the Pyramids Jennie and I really like pyramid lower body (PLB). A lot of Cathe's lower body w/o's have been mentioned here. I don't have them so cannot comment personally, but I'll tell you this, I have bought Cathe DVD's off recommendations of these knowledgeable people here on the forum and have never been disappointed.

Cathe makes some great crosstrainers too. Look on the DVD page. Click on the ones that interest you. The descriptions are very very thorough. They even let you view a clip from the w/o.

Jennie, it is so good to have you on the boards. There is a "daily checkin" on the open discussion forum where you can post your w/o each day and see what others are doing, great motivator. There are great challenges going on to help us have healthier bodies. Check those out.

Look forward to getting to know you. Take care.
