I use to lift weights and workout years ago, but did not keep it up. I am starting again to get into shape.
What kind of dvds, equipment and items should I purchase?
I have been working out with FIT TV Cathe workouts and they are great. I have no problem keeping up.
I want to go further. Please let me know what items I can purchase.
I notice the balls, steps, the weights, etc.
Where can I get these items and which ones do I need?
Which DVDs would be good for beginners/intermediate workouts?
Thanks.:)

Hey there!
I found my weight set at Oshmans and saw the same one at Academy. It is not exactly like Cathe's but it has all the same weights and is easy to switch plates while you work out. It was $110.00. Also, you can get the high step at either of those places too (mine actually came with a Cathe video- Muscle Endurance. BTW - M.E is a good video for beg/int. work outs.) Also, Cathe has a link on her page for equipment where you can order more risers for your high step.
The ball you can get at the sporting good store or Wal-Mart or Target.
Same with hand weights and the band.
The actual STEP used for the step aerobics I believe can also be purchased off of Cathe's site. If you find one at a store, make sure it is long enough. I got mine several years ago from REEBOCK, the Gin Miller edition which is comperable to the STEP height and length.
You do spend a little at first, but it is so great having all the equipment right there. Helps with "no excuses". Buy a little at a time, that's what I did.

I bought my barbell set from Walmart online -- great price. The total (shipping included) was about $45.00. I love this set -- has the easy on/easy off clips, not the screw on plates, and it has the rubber plates, which are much easier to handle than the metal plates I use to have.

I think I ordered my High Step from Walmart (came with a video), too, because I really wanted the blue topper. My Original Health Club Step I bought at Sports Authority -- $75.00.

I bought my stability balls and one of my med balls from Power Systems -- got them on clearance for an amazing price. I bought most of my dumbbells locally at Target, and local sporting goods stores.

Good luck and have fun! :)

Thanks so much for your message. I got online at Wal-Mart immediately and have a set of barbells on the way. I have just been using a body bar and dumbbells, but am ready to move up in weights. Thanks again!
