Hi!
I'm new to this forum and to Cathe videos, because I have never done any! But I plan on ordering Cardio Kicks and Circuit Max today. Can anyone tell me what these videos are like and if they are good for weight loss? I am not new to exercise, I've been doing the FIRM tapes, but now I want more of a cardio workout. So, if anyone can give me any opinions about these tapes and if they are good for weight loss that would be great!
Thanks!!

Hi Tara and welcome to Cathe's world. Cathe's currently enjoying a well deserved vacation with her family in Florida.

Many of us do FIRM tapes in addition to Cathe tapes as they complement each other nicely. I am sure you will absolutely love Cathe's videos.

Cardio Kicks and Circuit Max are killer workouts. Both are fun but are very advanced. Cardio Kicks is an excellent kickboxing tape with several athletic moves sprinkled throughout the workout. Circuit Max is more like a FIRM workout than any other Cathe tape. Here, you will do a few minutes of cardio, then grab your weights and do compound moves (upper and lower body moves are combined). I believe there are 6 cirucuits total (I haven't done this tape in a while as I'm currently suffering from Plantar Facitis and can't do any cardio for a while).

You may want to consider buying Cathe's older step tapes to start out with as her older tapes break down the moves. I would recommend How to Get in Shape for your Wedding, Step Max, or Step Jam as good introductory Cathe step workouts.

Regardless of what video you buy, you will definitely get a great cardio workout that is fun. All of her tapes are fun and tough.

Hi Tara!

Lorrayne gave you some great advice and good suggestions on "starting" out with Cathe. I just wanted to welcome you here and to tell you, you are going to be very pleased with the workouts. They are great for weightloss, especially if you have a clean diet. WELCOME & have FUN!!!Your-Friend-In-Fitness, DebbieH :)

RE: Hi Tara!

Both tapes are awesome!! They will definately help with weightloss. I really like them both!! Once you get the hang of those, CTX would be great to get next, as they were all filmed at the same time and compliment each other nicely!! Welcome aboard!!

Hey Tara! Welcome aboard! Quick, get out while you can!!! or else you will soon be as addicted to Cathe as the rest of us are!! You sound just like me a few short months ago, I was a die-hard Firmie, have all the tapes, worked out 5-6 times a week but at a MAJOR plateau, long story short, I ordered Cathe's tapes, and it was the answer to my prayers, I MEAN it. She is the best, her workouts are not easy, but if youve been firming for awhile your are ready. She keeps you motivated and the tapes just never get boring. CARDIO KICKS IS MY FAVORITE!!!! I havent done circuit max in a while, (maybe Ill do it tomorrow!) but if memory serves, its damn good. Another good one is Step Heat, just dont get discouraged if you dont catch on right away, hers moves are confusing at the beginning but youll catch on quickly and I promise you will LOVE these tapes!!! Good luck, let me know how you like them!!!! judy

Welcome! Nice to have new people join us in our chit-chat roooms. You picked 2 really really tough workouts. Circuit Max is great because of the variety, but that will seriously test you. Don't get discouraged if you find you can't finish it the first time. You might be in tip-top shape but that one could still throw your body for a loop, so be patient. My first time through I only did 4 out of 6 intervals, but by the 3rd time I was more used to the pacing and did the whole thing. I'm doing it tomorrow, as a matter of fact.

Cardio Kicks is like Tae Bo with a nastier attitude, I think. It's very upbeat and fun but I think it's tougher, it certainly has a better warm-up and ending cool down than Tae Bo, but you get all that fun kicking and punching too. You'll love it.

They're heavy duty, no doubt, but you'll be hooked!

Welcome! Both tapes you mentioned are excellent, but my personal favorite for a kick-butt cardio workout is without a doubt Interval Max.

Enjoy,

Stacy

RE: Stacy!

You're a nut, but I like that in a person. My fave would be a tie between IMAX and Circuit Max. I just love to wake up the next morning feeling like I've been hit by a truck.

Hey Tara:

The videos you are suggesting to upgrade your cardio are pure
heaven or the hot place depending on your idea of a great workout.

I too use the Firm and Cathes videos to compliment each other but like the other girl who replied I think you probably want to start out with one of Cathes older tapes. Not that they are necessarily lower in cardio effectiveness but they are a little easier to handle when first upping a cardio program. You did not say whether or not you have been doing any other cardio beside the Firm tapes but if not try to go a little slower and work your way up. The two tapes you mentioned are excellent but very hard. I have been doing Cathes tapes for years and use those two tapes as a way of punishment on the weekend for an extra long and hard workout.

I love Cathes tapes and know you will soon be as addicted as the rest of us loonies in the forums.

Happy exercising.
