New gym style workouts - unsure about band

In a recent post it was suggested to me that I should try the new gym style workouts (thanks mogambo :) )

I have looked on the web site and I cannot find out that much about them. Can anyone tell me if there is a link that tells me more than this one does please

I am also a bit reluctant to order these dvds as I have never worked out using a band before. Does anyone know why a resistance band has been incorporated into these workouts rather than traditional weights?
I guess I am scared of change :)

Hi Andrea,

Go into the Ask Cathe forum and scroll down a bit, there are two descriptions for her Gym style workouts.

I think Cathe wanted to hit the muscles in a different way so she does some with the band.

You aren't alone in not using a resistance band. I am sure that the majority of the people on this forum have never used one before (or, on a regular basis). So, don't worry about it. We'll all stumble together trying to figure out how to properly use the band. I still have problems staying on the stability ball while doing some of the exercises! ;-)
 
I am thinking of it as an adventure. I have never used a band. But then, I had never used a stability ball either. I'm sure it will be great. There will be some time where you are learning the new "feel" of it, and then, it'll be part of your home gym and a new way to work muscles.

What I like about it is that it is light enough to travel with. More options for my hotel room workouts.
 
I have never used a band before either, but I read somewhere that it can be tougher than dumbells. I look forward to the challenge though!}(
