*New doogie pic*

Jes - just wondering about those schnauzers. We had one when I was growing up and he was dumb as a rock. But I've heard that they are not really dumb, and some are very good at detecting melanoma.

Maybe ours was just a little slow.

Donna: mine are incredibly smart! A little than i'd like sometimes! My grandmother has one of the littermates of PJ and her dog is also very smart. They pick up tricks and commands very quickly and they know all their toys by name and get whichever one you ask for. Bella learned the whole "doggie-door" scenario in two days and has never had another accident in the house. (can you tell i'm proud?)

Wendy: getting them to sit that way is really easy! i just hold a treat up and they pose. they are always together so i have lots of pics of them asleep back to back and cuddled up and all that stuff. Too cute! Of course, i take pics of them almost every day, so there's not a web page in the world big enough to post them all:+

Are they very active as a breed? Are these the minature or standard schnauzers? Someone on the YaYas is looking for a lower shedding, family fun, calmer dog. I haven't met any in person, but your's are awfully cute!!

Hey Colleen! i guess i haven't been to yaya in a few days! i need to check in over there! These are Miniature Schnauzers. They both weigh 20 lbs. And are fully grown. They are semi-active. Meaning that they do what i do. if i'm sitting at the desk, they are asleep at my feet. if i'm cleaning the house and moving around alot, so are they. occasionally they get riled up and act completely maniacal, but they chill for the most part. They are a very barky breed b/c they are very territorial. They are a very jealous breed too. But that's ok in my situation, b/c there are no kids to compete with. Typically, mini's weigh 12-16 lbs fully grown, but mine are healthy according to the vet, so i guess maybe they just got big genes:+
They don't shed at all, which is precisely why i choose this breed. i have allergies from hell. They are prone to have sensitive skin though. hope this helps!
