I just got my new CIA videos - the 2007 series. I have done the Gay Gasper video and really liked it. Has anyone else done any of the others?? I would like to see how they rate compared to a Cathe video.

I have the Kickbox Combat, Step & Hi/Lo Euphoria, and All Body Attack on the way. I leave for Alaska tomorrow and nothing has arrived yet. I also have two of Tracey Staehle's on the way, so I hope to have 5 new workout awaiting me when I get back!

I did All Body Attack yesterday and I love it!! One of the best workouts of the year, imo! Fast moving and innovative, fun intervals and Sharon just keeps on going and going! Great core segment also - nice 85 minutes of my day!

I did Hi/lo Euphoria this morning, just the floor segment, not the step, and it was fun, dancy aerobics that reminded me of Christi and Marcus in style and tone. Not very hi impact, but my heart rate got up there. If you are not into the dancy, turning kind of workout I am not sure you will like it, but I find it a nice change from the athletic styles so prevalent these days.

I haven't done Gay's yet, but am anxious to do so. Those are the only ones I got.

All Body Attack is the one I'm MOST excited about. A few months ago I bought Double Cardio for the bosu workout b/c of my new bosu and fell in love with All Body Cardio. I was so excited when I found out Sharon was making another one! I like her personality a lot and cannot wait until this new of of hers arrives. I'm going to view Step/HiLo Euphoria with an open mind. I'm loving finding new workouts and instructors to enjoy along with my Cathe's! I hope to trade for Gay's workouts. The clips look good. I'm also getting more excited about the combat kickbox or whatever it's called. I thought the clips for that one looked really good also!

I purchased all five DVD's. I did Absolutely Kickboxing with Kimberly Spreen. What an awesome workout! I think it is her best so far. The first 35 minutes is kickboxing with great form and sequencing. The next 35 minutes is the Combat section where she uses a body bar. I didn't get to the core work. But I must say the lightest body bar I have is a 9# - this kicked my butt(or should I say my arms and my core). I thought for sure thatI would be extremely sore the next day, but I wasn't. I will definitely do this one alot!

I did try the step portion of Euphoria Aerobics. I do not usually like dancy aerobics of any kind much less step. I did find this one to be fun. It was really easy and simple to learn. So, ther really isn't much of a learning curve there for me anyway. I didn't try her high/low, though.

I will be doing All Body Attack tomorrow morning. I really love Sharon's personality and her workouts. I remember when she did a CIA video in 1999 or so. I am glad she is doing them again. All Body Cardio is just an all out awesome workout.

I have the All body Attack and Absolute Kickboxing. I really like them both. All body Attack just love it. I would rate it close to intensity to Cathe. It was alot of fun, loved the cardio drills, she always does interesting things with her bench.
I also enjoyed the kickboxing. I would rate it more intermediate, not alot of high impact (some jumping jacks mostly) so great for my knees. Loved the combat intervals with the body bar. You work your core alot in this program, especially your obliques.

Thanks for all your input. I think I will have to try ALL Body Attack next because it got a lot of good reviews.

I did All Body Attack this morning, it was a really great workout. I thought it was a little more intense than All Body Cardio. I would rate it right up there with Cathe's Drill Max.

She keeps you going the whole time with absolutely no breaks. She uses the bench differently than in ABC. Sharon does an awesome job coming up with so many different ways to work your body. The core segment ata the end was really good, too.

I will definitely be using this one quite often!

I haven't done them yet, but I got three of them (Gay's, Kimberly Spreen's and Sharon Money-Twobley's) and I've previewed all three. There have been times in the past when I've gotten CIA workouts, and ended up not liking any of them, but I think I hit the jackpot with these three.

Sharon's looks kind of like Drill Max, but even more functional, and Sharon is a great instructor. Kimberly's looks like her other workouts that I enjoy, but different enough to not seem repetitive (and she's also one of my favorite instuctors). Gay's step looks very different from Cathe's as far as moves and sequencing, but about the same intensity and complexity as most of Cathe's steady-state step workouts.

I did Amazing Hot Steps from Nikea(sp?). This workout was also very good. I do have one she did two years ago that had step and some kickboxing - I did enjoy that one - but haven't done it much.

This new one is much better. She does six step combos, each of which is followed my a cardio blast. I got it all on the first try (the choreography). One nice thing is you don't have to remember the combos, she doesn't keep going back to adding all the combos together. I found it to be simple choreography, but very effective in getting my hear rate up. I did do it on an 8" step.

It is 73 minutes in length. She does do about an 8 minute core workout that is good, too.

The only one left that I need to do is Gay Gasper's. With the CIA workouts, there are normally two that I don't end up doing much because they just do not click with me. So for I have had luck with four of them. The Aerobic Euphoria wasn't as appealing to me as Amazing Hot Steps, but I did enjly it and caught on to the choreography really well. It was dancier, though.

I purchased the entire set and I've done a little bit of each of them ..except for the Sharon one (as it doesn't fit into my current rotation).

I really like Nekea's Interval Step that I did this morning. Very reminiscent of Cathe's style but not as intense (although you can make it as intense as you want - I did). The music on it was Latin type and I didn't really care for it when I previewed it, but when doing it, the music goes really well with the routine. The steps aren't that hard to pick up but I think it's enough to keep it from being boring.

The music on the rest of them is da bomb! I love it! It has lots of vocals and recognizable songs and somewhat of a hip hop (think old Tae Bo Live music - sort of).

Gay's and Kim's have my favorite music so far. Gay's is fairly simple to follow, but again it's intersting enough to keep you from getting bored. I did it in the basement where I don't have a whole lot of room to move, so I can't comment on the intensity level of it.

Kim's is my least favorite but I'm keeping it cuz it's different than the usual stuff. Slightly dancey with lots of turns (which I like). I actually liked it much better the 2nd time I did it. The Hi/Lo routine - again I did it in the basement where I don't have room, so I only had a very light session, but it was fun also. Dancy and turny.

Kim's is the best! I really loved the part with the bar........so much that I just ordered Progressive Strength. She has excellent form and you can push it as hard as you want.....although ...since it's kickboxing, it's not real intense. The combat section with the weighted bar is great and I'm sure if you did it often, your body would probably look more defined (at least........I'm hoping).

I'm very happy with the set, although I wish it had a bit more weight work to balance it out some.

You mean Kimberly Spreen ("Kim" is one of the step instructors, I"ve never seem Kimberly refered to as 'Kim').

I really like Kimberly as well: IMO, her forte is cuing moves that flow together really well.

I have to disagree, though, that kickboxing isn't intense. It depends on your form and how much power you put into it.

Kathryn - I've seen you mention before about kickboxing and how it could be more intense with putting more into it. The only kickboxing that gets my HR up high is Cathe's and Turbo Jam's. Would you kindly give me some pointers on how to "put more into it". I'd like to hear what you have to say since no matter how much I seem to put into it, I really can't get my HR up too high. I must not be doing something correct.

Not Kathryn, but be sure you focus on the recoil and not just the extension on your punches and kicks - put power into the full movement and you'll get more out of it.

I always wear 2# weighted gloves when I do kick box workouts. I cannot use the 2# gloves when I do Turbo Jam, though. It is way too fast for that.

If you twist into each punch, you will get a much higher intensity. When one does the front push kick, you can make sure you are kicking as though you are kicking in a door. It is called the hip thrust into the moves. You can also do some of the kicks as jump kicks. Lots of times instead of just jogging in place you can do scissors.

I hope this helps in upping the intensity of your kickboxing!

Just wanted everyone to know I responded to Lora's PM about this (so you don't think I'm ignoring her question...LOL!)
