Well, I attempted to clean up our opening page here. Please update me on due dates/birthdates.....we've gotten a little behind!!!

Precilla, looks like you're next!!!! Can you believe it? How's the house stuff going?

Christine, all moved in.......I want to see nursery pics!!

Cee, I cannot believe you've been through all that! I hope that everything has settled down & you can enjoy being mom to Titus in it's fullest. :D Sounds like your last days of pg were tough!!

Jen, James looks so big in your picture!!

Susan, are you keeping up on your classwork?

....I'm awaiting doctors to make their rounds this AM....breakfast is served around 830....then I'm off to see my girls in NICU. They are really doing good...I just need to teach them how to suckle....and Madalynn needs to get her billirubin under control. I haven't been discharged as a patient yet....I'm not even sure where I'm going yet!! Hopefully to the transitional type room attatched to NICU. I'm thinking I'll be discharged on Monday. I'm still incredibly sore!

Waves to all & happy Sunday!!!

Melanie - Glad to see you are doing "well". You've really been through the wringer, you poor thing!!! I hope you have a speedy recovery and get moved into your transitional room soon. Can't wait to see some pictures of the girls. ;)

Jen - James is adorable!!!

I was able to get my first appointment moved back to tomorrow (jury duty was canceled). Maybe after that, I'll be optimistic enough to have you add me to the babies to be list. ;)

Only one more quiz in art...and 2 chpaters to read in Soc....then study for finals...this last part is the hardest to concentrate on!
We had a good night. Kara was up until 10:30 but slept until 3 then nearly 7..I actually feel rested today!
Haley and I are about to head to Walmart with Kara..wish me luck!
Waves to everyone! bbs

Hey ladies!

Melanie- The girls are adorable! Can't wait to see more pics of them! The list looks great!

Susan- How did you keep Kara awake so she would sleep at night? James just sacks out after every feeding session. I'm not trying to do a schedule so much as just try to keep him more awake. Any ideas??

Amber- I totally understand about not wanting to "jinx" anything. I m/c before James and there were certain things I wouldn't do or say (sounds silly but true) until I knew all was ok.

Hi Christine, Cee, Priscila and everyone else! I'll try to check in as much as possible but my days see to fly by right now.

Hi All!
Melanie- I know this is such a hard time for you. IT will all come full circle. Just think how much you will pee and sweat when the edema resolves! You will need waterproof sheets! The girls look great, and you have been through the ringer. Looks like you can get a free pass on life after this!
Susan- Glad to hear that Kara is sleeping so well. My son Jimmy was a terrible sleeper. The bladder thing sounds awful. How does it happen and how do they fix it?
Jen- Sounds like you are doing very well. I read your post to Susan about sleep. Many people try different things. My experience is that there is not much you can do in the beginning. They kind of put themselves on a schedule naturally. Keep them in daylight as much as possible during the day. The exhaustion goes away later! It has to or none of us would ever do this again! I really found the book Healthy Sleep Habits Happy Child ( I think that is the name) helpful. I read them all. I think the kids are hard wired! Sleep is how they grow and mature, and that is what they need to get regulated! Caffeine! And I hear you on the bottom thing. I had bad Hemorrhoids my first delivery adn they have plagued me since. I can offer you lots of information and advice there. I am a pro.
Priscilla- How is the house? Parents? The good thing about movign this late is that you know the house is perfect and clean! I am tired now that it is all done, but peaceful knowing that I did it all my way!
Amber- How did it go today? Was today the doctor?
Sorry my personals are short. I have been around but bad about posting. Our internet is lousy at the new house. Go figure that we move to Silicon Valley, the birth place of internet, and cannot get fiber oiptic cables to the house. So I am on a flash card for internet and it uses up cell minutes...
I went to the OB today, only dilated one cm. I am getting ready to have this all end. I feel enormous right now and am grouchy. My in laws come next week. It is nice to have them because my son loves them but they drive me batty. Usually wine gets me through the visit. Oh well. Off to defrost some beef. I want tacos.

Welcome back, Christine. It's always nice to hear from you. :)

Today was an emotional day. It started out by calling DH & DEMANDING that he bring the boys to see me at the hospital...that I could NOT go another day without seeing my boys. Little Jadon has not talked to me on the phone now for 4 days in the row....and it just breaks my heart. Justin hasn't given up on me....he tells me how much he loves me whenever we're on the phone...but I just cannot stand another day without them. So, my wonderful husband packed up the little boys & we're spending 8 hours together tomorrow. I"m so excited.

I also got transferred into a transitional room at the hospital attatched to NICU. It's actually looks like a hotel room....without any amnitities. It is here that I will tend to my girls needs 24 hrs/day & try to rest whenever I can. My goal is to have a discharge by Friday.

Alrighty...I gotta finish unpacking & go feed the girls.

Waves to all!!!!

Hi Ladies
Jen-the frist few weeks Kara slept ALL. DAY. LONG. she would just wake up to eat then like James sack back out. It was like that around the clock. She is just now starting to stay awake more during the day. Yesterday , however, she slept a LOT. And you just cannot keep a baby this age awake if he/she wants to sleep. At night when I feed/change her I keep it dark and don't say much. During hte day I sing and talk etc when she is up. Try not to stress he WILL get on a shedule and YOU will sleep. Just let him do his thing for a few weeks. I have tried to keep K up..but its just not happening. Her eyes roll back and shes out lol. I also don't schedule feedings. Remember breast milk metabolizes faster than formula so if he acts hungry he probalbly is. I don't schecule feedings I let K nurse whenever she wants. Sometimes its hourly..sometime she goes 3 or 4 hours. As they get older they eat more at a time and can go longer.

Hey Chrisine-from what I have read there are 2 options for the bladder. They kinda prop it up with this contracption that you can take in and out...and then there is surgery to repair. I want the surgery. TMI alert...when I stand up my protruding bladder comes out nearly 1/2 inch. Its not actually the bladder itself..the bladder is pushing through the vaginal wall. Anyway...it doesnt hurt so that is good..its just very annoying and I don't want to deal with this forever. Yayyy for the dilation..hey its better than nothing! HOpe you enjoyed your tacos!

Melanie-Im so glad you'll see your boys today. Your emotions must be everywhere right now. Hug your boys and have a great visit!!!! You'll be home soon!

I"ll be back for more personal..coffe/dh time.

Good Morning ladies,

It seems like I would be next but I'm not quite sure, Christine might beat me up LOL I went for an OB Check yesterday and no progress at all. I haven't dilated, cervix is still soft. She did say to start walking more. We'll see next week
Good news, we close on our house yesterday. It was a Long day!! we had two final walks in the house before closing and then went to Sears to get a fridge, went to bed exhausted!

Christine, thanks for asking about my parents, they get here on Monday and I am soooo excited!! Talking about in laws my MIL is very sick in the hospital, it seems like she has some kidney problems, not sure what it is exactly but we were discussing bringing her over to meet the baby if her dr allows it.

Susan, less than a month for you to finish the semester. DH is in the same boat. We wants to do so many things. We wants to start moving already, regardless the fact that we have until the end of Dec in our apartment.

Melanie, I hope you make out of hospital on Friday like you're expecting. Are the girls leaving with you or they need to stay a little longer? It must be hard for you to not see your boys regulary. You are a trooper Melanie!

Jen, how is baby James adjusting to the real world? Is he sleeping through the night?

Liann, how did your app. go? Looking forward to hearing from you!

be back later

Hi ladies! My appointment went fine, but it ended up just being a paperwork/bloodwork appointment. They did schedule me for a Sonogram next Friday though, so I am excited about that. :)

Melanie - Have fun with your boys today! I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for a Friday discharge.

Susan - Your poor bladder! Was this something that just started with Kara?

Can't wait to hear about more babies making their entrances! :)

Awe!!! They looks great Melanie!!! And you look pretty darn good too! You wouldn't know what you have been through by looking at you! :)

Melanie-you and the girls look awesome! How did the visit with your boys go?
Amber-I was so looking forward to your sonogram today! yucky paperwork! You dont have too much longer to wait. Yes, my bladder issue is from having Kara. I knew I pushed hard..but darn..I need to keep my bladder in there. HA.

I meant Kara! Must have had James on the brain! ;)

Reminder to self not to push my bladder out too! ;)

Christine and Susan- Thanks for the encouraging words. Today I am really feeling the exhaustion. I tried to sleep this afternoon when he did and I just couldn't. Don't know why...Feeling real emotional today too from lack of sleep. DH is still home and has been wonderful but he is tired too. He gets up at night with us to help and isn't getting much sleep either.

Priscila- It's okay if you are not dilated. It still can happen anytime. I'm glad you get to see your parents soon and your house situation is coming together.

Amber- Yuck about the paperwork but yay for an u/s! Can't wait to hear all about it!

Melanie- Girl you look great in those pics! And so do the girls! They are perfect! How did your visit go with your boys?

Christine- I hear ya on the grouchiness but for different reasons. ;) Hang in there....and then we can be sleepless together also.

Susan- Your bladder has inspired me to push slowly and carefully! After my hemmorhoid fiascos, I am anxious to keep most of my insides where they belong this time around. Whew!
Jen- If you ever want to vent, I am here, or any new moms! I had a tough baby first time around. He cried and cried and cried all night long. Never slept through the night till after a year and a half. I was so delirious and tired, that I accidently chopped part of my finger off making dinner one might (it healed after some cauterizing). Nobody tells you how hard it is to be so tired. You carry this little person around for 10 months, people are so happy for you, but nobody warns you that you will feel like you are pulling all nighters every night. I never could sleep in teh day either. Here is something that helped: I would go to bed early, about 8pm. My hubby would feed pumped milk and care for Jimmy till midnight, I was on duty after that. It got me a few hours of uninterrupted sleep. I give huge kudos to those of you with great feeding boobs. I pumped for a few months, was too tired and got sick, and stopped. I will go straight to formula this time, but respect those of you sticking it out. I was also pretty emotional after the baby came. For almost a year I had been so important as the preggo mommy and caretaker. Then it screams and stays awake all night! Ack! I used to want to punch all mommies at the store with kids who slept through the night! Every kid is different, they all get where they need to be when it is time. Boys tend to be fussier than girls. I have read that they are neurologically inferior in the beginning, due to hormone flux. Who knows. I promise it gets better. Have a glass of wine tonight. Let the house go. For me, I convinced my hubby to let me get someone to help clean the house twice a month. For 100 bucks a month, someone else could scrub the showers and floors, and let me relax more, allowing me to start catching some sleep in the day. I highly recommend it, it will lower your anxiety level. It is no easy task being a mom, but the best job in the world....
Priscilla- Do not worry. I did not dilate with my first at all!! I had Pitocin the first time around! Baby will be here soon! I think I am only dilating because I am still running. Also, there has been a lot of squats with unpacking boxes! Keep me posted. I am starting to have bad back pain. So keeping my eyes peeled for mucous... I still think the baby will stay in longer to fatten up. I hope so. Maybe then he will not cry as much as my first! Sorry to hear that your in laws are not doing well, but glad that you have your mom coming to help. Let me know if you want any pointers on the preggo move.
Melanie- Loved the photos. How nice that you get a transitional room. The girls look great. You are almost home! I hope that you are able to have a great visit with the boys today. Remember that men are from mars and women are from venus. Even little boys don;t like to communicate verbally. I get hugs are better than ever for you today. Okay, off to make a sausage and white bean with leek casserole. Mmmm.
Got my turkey today. MIL can deal with that thing. I hate turkey.

Morning!
Christine-I think we paid our dues with our first babies! Haley was a non-sleeper/cryer too! That child never slept and when she did she would grunt and sound very unsettled. She finally slept through the night when she was I think 5...and to this day is not a good sleeper. She ends up in our bed 3 nights a week at least. Kara (knock on wood) is much better so far. Kara grunts too...but I read that is normal...at least she sleeps.
Yesterday Kara was up a lot...so I thought she would sleep so good last night...NOT. Up every 2 hours...that 2 hours inculdes feeding time too. I am suprising myself being to laid back and not worried about sleeping this time around. You rock for still running!!!

Jen-hope you had a good night with James
Melanie-how was your visit? Any clue of when you and the girls get to go home?
Hi Pricialla! I didnt dialate with Haley..then went into labor on my own the day before my due date. Don't worry!
Waves to everyone!
I plan on doing step today. I did a full body weights on Monday...nothing yesterday.
We are taking our first trip with the baby this weekend. Going "home" to Oxford for the Rebels/LSU game. Im not taking K to the game though...just gonna hang out with family and tailgate then go visit some friends while Haley and dh are at the game.
Was out of breastpads..ran to WM real quick last night..while in line my milk let down..needless to say my shirt was soaked! I bought 2 boxes this time..120 should hold me for a few days.
Ok Im off to get H up and going.

Hey, ladies. I've been trying to read, but haven't had much time to respond. Drew is still fussy (he's the "bad sleeper" you guys were talking about LOL), and it's just wearing me out.

Anyway, he hit 2 months yesterday. Weighed in at 15 lbs, 23-1/2" long. He's a big guy! The dr. said to start putting 1 TBSP rice cereal in his formula, because he wants to eat every 2.5-3 hours, around the clock. Didn't help much last night, but I'll keep plugging away.

Melanie, the girls are beautiful! Enjoy your family visit tomorrow.

Jen, loved the pics of James in last week's thread.

Cee, congrats on Titus's birthday!

Priscilla, can you believe your due date is almost here?!?! Hope your MIL is on the mend soon. Enjoy your visit with your parents.

Christine, so happy to hear you're settling into your new house! Props to you, unpacking a house when you're due in just a few weeks. And I'm nodding in agreement with your statement that boys are fussier. Ella was the easiest baby; Drew is gassy, sleep-challenged, and fussy. He has been improving as the weeks go on, but it's exhausting.

Susan, sounds like Kara is thriving! Will you be able to get the surgery you need soon? Will you be having your delayed shower when you're home?

Liann, for some reason, I think I remember seeing that you're in Philly...is that correct? If so, what hospital did you choose?

If I missed anyone, I'm sorry!

Morning!
Kara did so well last night. 10-4:45 then right back to sleep and its 630 now! SHe took 2 3 hour naps yesterday too. Im a firm believer in when baby sleeps well during the day they do better at night! My right boobie is ready for her to get up!!!
Allison-so sorry Drew is fussy....I feel for ya!! I remember how frustrating and exhausting it is..but hang in there..it will pass! I am hoping to get the surgery before Jan 1 since I have paid deductable etc. Im pretty sure it will be out-pt...and I have been told there is anethesia that doesnt effect breastmilk...thats a major issue. I might have to pump for a few days if not.

Waves to everyone..gotta balance the checkbook!
