need help in finding a pure weights video

I would appreciate anyone's help! I am looking for video's that are only weights with no cardio. I do cardio on my treadmill. I want a tough and effective workout. I do not own a step(and don't plan on getting one) but do have a 14in stool, medicine ball, large workout ball, asst weights and barbell. I need a workout that doesn't require the step. I am at an intermediate level, however I would like a workout that I can adjust the level. I don't want it to be too easy. I only have 2 - 3 days a week for strength training. I was looking at the Pure strength series which looked like something that would suit me. How does this series compare to the Pyramid upper and lower. Any other suggestions?
Thanks!

I do not own the Pure Strength series, but I LOVE the Pyramids. I am seeing great tone and muscle definition since I began doing the Pyramid workouts just once a week and most of the time I am only doing the Pyramid Up only or Down only using the heaviest weights I can muster. In Pyramid Upper Body, Cathe uses a step to lay on, but you may be able to lay on the floor instead? Good luck in your decision!
:p

:)I would suggest the slow & heavy series for maximum definition, strength and toning. This will take you to the next step and beyond! Also, the pure strength series is a tough weight workout! :D Let us know what you decide!;-)

I suggest Power Hour, MIS, or Muscle Endurance.

Pure Strength uses the step for inclining chest work and will make you want a step.

MIS has a short step warm up.

Power hour uses a step but you can use the floor- it's not used for a cardio warm up or for inclines, just as a flat surface. Same with M.E.

Be careful- you may change your mind about stepping. I did. :)

Thanks for your replies! Tell me more about the step. How much and where can it be purchased? None of the tapes I have now require it. I need to decide whether or not it will be a worthwhile investment.

If you are truly not interested in step, I would recommend buying a weight bench. They are about $50 at Wal-Mart or a sports store. They can be more versatile than a step because you are not so close to the ground and therefore you can lie on the bench on your stomach for various exercises without hitting your arms/hands on the floor. I actually own both a step and a weight bench. I don't use the step for weight workouts because it's hard and not as versatile. My bench actually only declines (one leg drops under), but some benches can incline and decline, which would be great.

In one apartment I lived in, I covered the weight bench with a weaved rug and was able to use it near my front door as a seat. Double-duty!

I found my step at wal-mart, its a cheap one and isn't as long and wide as the good ones, but it works for me right now, I bought mine for about $20.00. I will eventually get a good one........ Rhonda :7

Annie-

I did Pure Strength for months using a chair cushion on the floor for the chest work instead of a step or bench, and it worked just fine. For the incline, I added another cushion. It wasn't a problem. The step or bench is only really needed on most Cathe strength videos for the chest work, and occasionally for triceps, and a good, sturdy chair or sofa cushion is a good substitute.

Pure Strength is 3 workouts, so it requires a minimum of 3 days per week. The Pyramid workouts can be done in 2 days per week. As Connie mentioned though, PH or MIS would probably be better because they are single workouts, so you could do them twice per week, instead of just once if you only have 2 days.

Enjoy!!
